[Bug 1153329] Re: LPD network printer not recognized by the new gnome-control-center printer window
** Description changed: I'm using Ubuntu Raring. I have a printer shared with some computers over ethernet using a d-link printserver using a LPD protocol. To install it on my computer I go in gnome-control-center, then printers, and finally add new printer. It opens a window in which I should see it recognized my printer connected and it should be ready to install it, but the only thing I see in the window i the "no printers detected" message. I'm sure the printer is connected because older Ubuntu version (i.e. 12.04) can recognize and install it. - So i tried running system-config-printer from the command line and I saw + So I tried running system-config-printer from the command line and I saw the old printers window, the one I usually see in Ubuntu 12.04. Clickng "add" from that window the printer is recognized and i can install it. So, for now I found a workaround, but I wonder how should a newbie do in order to install a LPD printer? If the printer section in gnome-control- center lacks some type of printer configuration/recoognization shouldn't be better to reintroduce the old ugly but functional printer window instead of this nice but not functional and confusing window? [Bug 934498] Re: Having no swap locks up laptop with IO
Hello Vadim - Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. eCryptfs is not what is used to encrypt your swap, so I'm marking this bug as invalid. If you have encrypted swap, dm-crypt is used to encrypt that partition since eCryptfs is not able to do block-level encryption. I've never seen my swap partition fail to mount, so I'm not sure what could be happening there. Encrypted swap does certainly require more processing power than unencrypted swap, but I've also not experienced the grind-to-a-halt behaviour that you're experiencing. There's really not enough information in this bug report for a developer to act on this issue. If you can provide more information on your hardware specs and potential ways to reproduce the issue, please file a new bug report. Thanks! ** Changed in: ecryptfs-utils (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/934498 Title: Having no swap locks up laptop with IO To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ecryptfs-utils/+bug/934498/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1086220] Re: pdf2swf missing from swftools 0.9.2 for ubuntu 12.10
The pdf2swf command is not supported because it relies on xpdf library code, which has a history of security issues. [Bug 1107866] Re: Show window list when right clicking an icon in launcher - enables quick window switching
Regarding Nekhelesh Ramananthan (nik90)'s comment: The list does grow large, and extends vertically off the screen, which is an issue. Here are two possible fixes: Option 1: Figure out the maximum number of entries the quicklist can support for the given resolution, and if we have more windows open than we can fit, put the remaining windows into a menu item called "# more windows" (replace # with the actual number of remaining windows) as the last entry. When we click on the last entry, we get Spread of *only* those remaining windows. Option 2: Scroll only the window list, if possible. - | Favorite Location 1 | | Favorite Location 2 | | --| | ^ | Active/Inactive up arrow to scroll window list up | Window 1 | | Window 2 | | | | Window N - 1 | | v | Active/Inactive up arrow to scroll window list down | --| | remaining items | - -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1107866 Title: Show window list when right clicking an icon in launcher - enables quick window switching To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/1107866/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1153376] Re: package dictionaries-common 1.12.1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: le sous-processus script post-installation installé a retourné une erreur de sortie d'état 255
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your dmesg attachment in this bug report it seems that there is a problem with your hardware. I recommend performing a back up and then investigating the situation. Measures you might take include checking cable connections and using software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck! [This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: hardware-error ** Changed in: dictionaries-common (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: dictionaries-common (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1153376 Title: package dictionaries-common 1.12.1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: le sous-processus script post-installation installé a retourné une erreur de sortie d'état 255 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dictionaries-common/+bug/1153376/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 774644] Re: plymouth splash screen doesn't close with slim
This bug remains unfixed because the slim package in Ubuntu does not have an upstart job, giving us no way to specify the handling of plymouth in the presence of slim. Someone who cares about the slim package in Ubuntu should address this first, then we can update the plymouth package to match. Or, users can continue to use the DM that's installed by default, which has been made to integrate with plymouth. ** Also affects: slim (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: slim (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: slim (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774644 Title: plymouth splash screen doesn't close with slim To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/774644/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
