[Bug 649189] Re: Samba fails to bind IPv6 on boot
I experienced the same bug, when /etc/network/interfaces was configured for dynamic ip. After I configured /etc/network/interfaces to static ipv4 address, the problem was resolved. So it seems that Samba binds only to local address, before the dhcp client received a address from the dhcp server. Maybe there is a upstart event that fires when the network is available? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/649189 Title: Samba fails to bind IPv6 on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/649189/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1160336] Re: SOAP Client failed to load entry
We seem to be experiencing the same problem. In our case, it is both the SoapClient and the SoapServer class which fail to load wsdl files (with the same error message as above), regardless of where the files are located on our server. I found a workaround which is allowing the wsdl files to be loaded, but which may be causing unwanted changes in how our SOAP objects are delivered. I changed: $server = new SoapServer('/path/to/wsfile.wsdl'); to: $server = new SoapServer(null, array('uri' = '/path/to/wsfile.wsdl')); For the SoapClient code, I changed: $client = new SoapClient('https://domain/path/to/wsfile.wsdl'); to: $client = new SoapClient(null, array('uri' = 'https://domain/path/to/wsfile.wsdl', location = 'https://domain/path/to/wsfile.wsdl')); This got our client code tests to successfully return SOAP objects, but one of our customers using existing client side code (which has not been changed) has been experiencing errors when attempting to parse the objects they are receiving. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1160336 Title: SOAP Client failed to load entry To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1160336/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1157332] Re: /etc/dnsmasq.d-available/lxc circular link
Alright, I figured it out and wrote a patch for it. Now here's the boring explanation for all that mess. We introduced the dnsmasq hook in LXC in quantal, then fixed it to use dpkg-maintscripts as an SRU. We then subsequently SRUed the whole thing to precise and we pushed the new version to raring. That means in short that the migration code needs to fire if the previous version is: - 0.7.5-3ubuntu67 on precise - 0.8.0~rc1-4ubuntu39.12.10.2 on quantal - 0.8.0~rc1-4ubuntu49 on raring This means we can't do the obvious thing of putting 0.7.5-3ubuntu67 in lxc.maintscripts as someone can have a machine with the base quantal version, then upgrade to raring and not get the migration done. Similar thing can happen with someone upgrading from an early raring image. As a result, I think it's best to have the base version for each series set in lxc.maintscripts as one would expect if it wasn't for the mess we created with all the SRUs and then have some extra logic in the postinst to detect the mess created by multiple migrations and fix it all up for the user. I'm attaching the suggested patch for this issue, which I tested in a standard fully-up-to-date-quantal to current-raring update scenario. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1157332 Title: /etc/dnsmasq.d-available/lxc circular link To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1157332/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

If it's an actual requirement for those tools, they should be depending on the package rather than assume it'll be present. [Bug 1157332] Re: /etc/dnsmasq.d-available/lxc circular link
** Description changed: + = Rational = + We pushed a custom dnsmasq hook to precise, quantal and raring over the past few months to avoid conflicts for people running the dnsmasq system daemon (non-default). + However because we introduced this change as SRU, it's causing problems when then upgrading to the next release by having the migration code get executed multiple times. + We need to fix this and repare broken systems in the process. + + = Test case = + - Install any of the current lxc, libvirt-bin or network-manager on Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.10 + - Dist-upgrade to the next version of Ubuntu + - You'll notice /etc/dnsmasq.d-available/FILE is now a circular link, /etc/dnsmasq.d/FILE no longer exists and the old content is moved to /etc/dnsmasq.d-available/FILE.dpkg-new (where FILE is lxc, dnsmasq or network-manager) + - Updating to a fixed package will move everything back into place (assuming the user hasn't done any local change in between, in which case, nothing will be done) + + = Regression potential = + I have tested the change doing precise - quantal - raring and quantal - raring and I'm confident the new postinst hook will fix any breakage. It's also specific enough to only trigger in the specific case we know how to repair. In all other cases, we keep the system as-is and let the user deal with it. As a result, it's not impossible that some weird corner cases (for example when removing/purging the package in between dist-upgrades) may go unfixed but I'm confident we'll cover at least 99% of the cases with the fix and that this fix is safe. + + + --- Original bug report --- In today's Raring apt-get dist-upgrade: Setting up lxc (0.9.0~rc1-0ubuntu1) ... [Bug 1129029] Re: ACL not respected if an attachment file name contains the € character
If I could get this to work at all, I wouldn't of course be surprised at the reported bug. Presumably the demime option simply scans the filename itself, without decoding it. [Bug 967410] Re: Windows clients cannot connect to shared printers
Re #88: Yes, it was working with 3.6.3-2ubuntu2.3 and stopped working with 3.6.3-2ubuntu2.4. However, the problem has changed. I used the applications, system, log out menu to restart the system. I got the screenprints by running via Remote Desktop Viewer from a U10.04 system. [Bug 1160735] [NEW] man make-kpkg not uptodate
Public bug reported: I am using Kubuntu 12.10 32bit in a german version. The man-page (german) of make-kpkg is from 2002 and have one wrong and some incomplete informations. I don't know how to check the original english version of the man-page to check if it is a translation or a generel problem. 1. wrong information The man-page tell that there is a need to run make-kpkg as root (what is extrem risky!), with fakeroot or to tell him by parameter how to become (fakeroot) root. I tested it myself. From userside there is no need to tell make-kpkg how to become root or to run it as (fake)root. Because make-kpkg handle it for itself. I checked it. All files in my created deb are with root-rights without running make-kpkg as (fake)root. Just cancle this infor. 2. missing and incomplite configuration Two usual usecases for make-kpkg: a) The configuration of the kernel is completely missing. b) The configuration is from an older kernel-version and some new-options there are unset. So the config is incomplete. How does make-kpkg behave in such situations? The man-page-described behaviour is unclear and maybe wrong. (I need more time to test it myself.) The author or code-maintainer should be contacted to clearing this questions and bring the man-page to a real state. ** Affects: gst-plugins-ugly0.10 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel make manpage -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1160735 Title: man make-kpkg not uptodate To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gst-plugins-ugly0.10/+bug/1160735/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1160739] [NEW] request python-sip update (4.14.5) to fix bug in current 4.14.4 preventing successful compilation of QuantumGIS on ubuntu raring 13.04
Public bug reported: An automated build of QuantumGIS (http://www.qgis.org/) for Ubuntu's forthcoming 'raring' 13.04 revealed a compilation issue with latest python-sip 4.14.4. For background information, see QGIS' issue on this: http://hub.qgis.org/issues/7352. Python-sip's maintainer, Phil Thompson, was made aware of this bug and quickly fixed the problem with this commit: http://riverbankcomputing.co.uk/hg/sip/rev/054f1676c300 Phil subsequently packaged a 4.14.5 build to make sure ubuntu 13.04 doesn't ship with a broken python-sip. [Bug 1159235] Re: deja-dup crashes after backup with GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop
Hi Michael, Thanks for the info but I don't understand. The backup runs as root and shows me a GUI window while the backup is running, but are you saying there is something different about the GUI notification window at the end??? If this is the case, then couldn't you show some sort of a MSG in the GUI window to indicate success, with a pause of say 10 seconds so people can read it when it is running as root? It seems a great shame that this nice tool be limited to backups of just 1 user's data when it actually seems to work fine when running as root, except for a success or failure notification. [Bug 1160533] Re: The error occured short (1-2 Min.) after booting, I did not run libreoffice at all.
This is a small packaging problem. To get rid of the error you can safely remove libreoffice-emailmerge with dpkg (it is a transitional package, which means that it contains nothing, as it is now integrated in libreoffice-common package). [Bug 984688] Re: initramfs-tools depends on initramfs-tools-bin ( 0.99ubuntu11.1~)
The problem for me was that my boot partition was full so that needed to be resolved before this issue could be resolved. [Bug 1157928] Re: Package checks for PAE flag on CPU but CPU supports PAE fine.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/930447/comments/157 speaks of 'fake-pae' which migh be the solution to this problem. [Bug 930447] Re: Unable to start Ubuntu 12.04 live CD with syslinux loader on Pentium M x86 Laptop due to bug in PAE kernel, initramfs or syslinux
fake-pae. That the single most awesome comment so far ;) It's a workaround, to work around an issue with the CPU. While without special whitelists. I personally think, the CPU supports PAE just fine, but it was 'experimental' maybe at the time or a 'luxury' function so the CPU simple didn't advertise it. Anyhow, while this fake-pae bit sounds like it's 'the' solution once the system is running; We still need sys-linux to play well. So this bug report is still relevant to that regard. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/930447 Title: Unable to start Ubuntu 12.04 live CD with syslinux loader on Pentium M x86 Laptop due to bug in PAE kernel, initramfs or syslinux To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/930447/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1022232] Re: installing boinc-client requires too much dependencies
The development process has NOT deteriorated. Unfortunately upstream doesn't release any newer release as stable, so now I/WE cannot ask for a backport of a package, and fixing bugs for an older release is just a waste of time (I'm actively fixing bugs in the development release) please let me know if you have the same problem with my ppa https://launchpad.net/~costamagnagianfranco/+archive/locutusofborg-ppa -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1022232 Title: installing boinc-client requires too much dependencies To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/boinc/+bug/1022232/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
