[Bug 898390]

2013-09-19 Thread Psychonaut
The problem was still reproducible for me on KDE 4.10.2 through 4.10.5
on openSUSE 12.3. However, yesterday I upgraded to KDE 4.11.1 and now
the display settings are (eventually) correctly applied on login.
However, the process is a bit annoying in that immediately after logging
in, the display settings are incorrect (that is, the relative position
of my two monitors is wrong). It's only after several seconds (and
after several applications already get loaded, and display in the wrong
places) that the orientation gets switched to my preferred settings. So
it's still buggy, but much less buggy than before.

[Bug 1227796] [NEW] upon installation user can launch an application multiple times

2013-09-19 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
Public bug reported:

mako 20130918.1

TEST CASE
1. Go to 'Apps Scope' and open 'More Suggestions'
2. Select an application and open the 'Detailed' view
3. Press 'Install' and wait until installation finishes
4. After installation there are 3 actions: Open, Pin and Uninstall. Press Open
several times
 - connect to the device with adb or ssh and check how many instances of the
application are running

EXPECTED RESULT
Application is launched once

ACTUAL RESULT
Application is launched as many times user pressed 'Open'. Since there is no
feedback when the user press open, it feels like 'Open' did nothing and the
user presses again.

[Bug 1226962] Re: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout

2013-09-19 Thread Brandon Schaefer
Yup, on 13.10. My ctrl+t know doesn't work. Sooo i must have messed up
testing it :). So yes there is a problem there.

Really im just wondering what use to happen, if this is a regression. As
I see 3 cases, and 2 different ways to handle this.

1) You are using a standard qwerty latin keyboard with all the keys in the
correct spot.
2) You are using a different layout where they keys (such as 't') may be in
different locations.
3) You are using a language where such a key does not exists (such as 't').

The two ways to possibly handle this, as in case 1 there is no need to
change how we handle it.

If case 2, use the new location of the key if it has moved.
If case 3, use the keycode of the key it self when no such key exists.

Not entirely sure what the approach should be and would like to discuss
this a bit more before heading down an implementation.

[Bug 1227794] [NEW] Changing volume using mousewheel changed

2013-09-19 Thread Ralf Hildebrandt
Public bug reported:

The volume indicator used to have a function that allowed to change the
volume using the mousewheel by simply hovering over the indicator.
Rolling the wheel DOWN reduced the volume and vice versa.

Starting with saucy, this function is gone. I actually have to click on
the indicator and then move the cursor on the volume bar, and THEN the
logic for the volume has swapped --- rolling the wheel down now
INCREASES the volume.

Also, one click muting (middle mouse button on the indicator) is also
gone.

[Bug 1225818] Re: Ubiquity slideshow for Ubuntu Saucy has Raring Ringtail logo

2013-09-19 Thread Dylan McCall
Oookay, I wish I'd looked at this earlier: the two wallpapers that were
picked as abstract illustrations this cycle don't quite work in this
space, so we're in a bit of a pickle :)

I went ahead and updated trunk with an image based on
Saucy_Salamander_Abstract_by_José_Vera_alcivar.jpg, so that's a step in
the right direction, but I'm not thrilled with it. I'm okay with the
illustration itself (honestly, nice job, José, if you're reading this!),
but I had to scale the image down significantly to hide the original jpg
compression artifacts. If somebody has access to the source image and
can provide something a little nicer looking, that'll be very nice.

Also, I feel like saying Ubuntu twice is repetitive here, and the
background might be a little too Enterprisey, so alternatives are more
than welcome. Hi there, Canonical UX team!

[Bug 1227795] [NEW] [P5Q DELUXE, Analog Devices AD1989B, Other SPDIF Out, Rear] No sound at all

2013-09-19 Thread Johannes Jochum
Public bug reported:

i'm new with linux. i've got a nvidia gtx 260 and a dvi adaptar to
connect with hdmi to my amplifier. this works perfectly on windows but
not with linux. also i tried an coax cable to connect the desktop with
the amplifier but also no sound. i tried a few solutions like changing
to 5.1 multichannel but nothing worked.

what confuses me ist that the device is always analog and not digital.
it should be digital i guess but i have no idea how to change it

help is very much apprechiated

This bug was fixed in the package apport - 2.12.3-0ubuntu1

---
apport (2.12.3-0ubuntu1) saucy; urgency=low

  * New upstream bug fix release:
- ProblemReport.write_mime(): Adjust MIMEText handling to latest Python
3.3 upstream changes which now don't tolerate passing bytes any more.
  (LP: #1227381)
- apport-gtk: Don't use obsolete add_with_viewport() method any more.
- Fix ui_present_report_details() modal_for keyword for all UI
implementations, so that --hanging works for -cli and -kde, too.
