[Bug 1333512] Re: Failing to import module adds noise to the logging stream
** Description changed: - When there is a failure to import a module this failure is logged but - also means that everything else will be logged to stdout from that point - on. + When failing to import a module the gi.repository import.py module logs an error with `logging.error(..)` causing a logging handler to be added. + This basically breaks the ability to configure the logging as it happens so early (i.e. at the import stage before an authors code is executed). - The Issue: - When failing to import a module the gi.repository import module adds a handler, that sends output to stdout, to the root logger. This means that _any_ logging after the failed import will be sent to stdout. + To reproduce/Example: - To reproduce/test: + Run this script: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/7698632/ - Run the python script found here: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/7693434/ + Expected outcome: + No output to stdout or stderr and the text log message in the file /tmp/example.log - Expected output: Nothing. No logging and no text etc. + Actual outcome: + No log file, and this text output to stderr: + ERROR:root:Could not find any typelib for rubbish + ERROR:root:log message - Actual Output: - ERROR:root:Could not find any typelib for rubbish - INFO:something-not-root:You shouldn't see this - - Note that you can see the logged output for something-not-root even - though it's logging level is set to INFO (which isn't normally shown). Upstream fix: https://git.gnome.org/browse/pygobject/commit/?id=ac8b59e Ubuntu Version: Description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Release: 14.04 Package Version: python3-gi 3.12.0-1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1333512 Title: Failing to import module adds noise to the logging stream To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/pygobject/+bug/1333512/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1331452] Re: Please backport current CVEs for Precise LTS openssl098
It appears one of the patches added some new errors to the build logs: ... ./testssl: 128: [: SSLv3: unexpected operator Testing AES256-SHA Available compression methods: 1: zlib compression TLSv1, cipher TLSv1/SSLv3 AES256-SHA, 1024 bit RSA 1 handshakes of 256 bytes done ./testssl: 128: [: SSLv3: unexpected operator ... Thankfully the fix was simple (change == to = in debian/patches/CVE-2013-0169.patch for testssl), and once fixed didn't itself indicate any new errors. However now I'm at a loss how to test this package; my first shot, using LD_PRELOAD=/path/to/libssl.so.0.9.8 openssl didn't actually work. [Bug 1333558] [NEW] qmail ANY query bugs
Public bug reported: When qmail tries to deliver emails to a domain that is DNSSEC-enabled the response it gets is often way larger than 512 Byte (2-5k is often experienced) since it queries for ANY instead of A, and MX. The result is that the delivery of mails to those domains can not be performed and the queue just increases. I got the error deferral: CNAME_lookup_failed_temporarily._(#4.4.3)/ in the log file. Workaround: apt-get install dnscache-run This installs the DNS recurser dnscache and automaticly changes /etc/resolv.conf to 127.0.0.1. (as a side notice i first tried to install the DNS recurser Unbound, but even though I disabled DNSSEC validation it still replied with the relevant ressource records, when queried for 'ANY', and thus I achieved nothing.). The problem and suggestions on how to fix it is further discussed here (I found it during a web search): https://fanf.livejournal.com/10.html There are probably other suggestions online on how to fix it. I think some patch should be applied, since the web is increasingly moving to DNSSEC. I found some stats that 20-30% of .nl domains are DNSSEC- enabled. That probably goes for some other TLD's too. $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS Release:12.04 $ apt-cache show qmail | grep Version Version: 1.06-4 ** Affects: qmail (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1333558 Title: qmail ANY query bugs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qmail/+bug/1333558/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1333565] [NEW] Phone's system settings update page is ugly
Public bug reported: The updates page in system settings seems quite ugly/undesigned to me. * The view stops overshooting sometimes. Not sure how to trigger this state, but flicking the list of updates up/down makes it stop overshooting at some point. Also I just managed to make it stop being scrollable at all. * While everywhere else on the phone (at least everywhere else in systemsettings), separators between list entries reach from left to right, in here there's a spacing to the edges. There's also a spacing to left and right in the new dialer/contacts app, however, that one is different to the one in here too, so this still seems arbitrary. * Once updates are done, the update all button disappears, and leaves an empty space behind. That empty space clips the list items below. * Once the update all button is invisible, it is still clickable though. Tap around in the empty area and at some point all the list items will grow and show some D-Bus error message in the subtitle. * Items in the list change their hight to their liking, making the whole list jump up/down. If items really need to change their size at runtime (imho we should try to avoid that), it should be handled with a smooth animation. ** Affects: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Package changed: unity8 (Ubuntu) = ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) ** Summary changed: - system settings update page is ugly + Phone's system settings update page is ugly ** Description changed: The updates page in system settings seems quite ugly/undesigned to me. * The view stops overshooting sometimes. [Bug 1327075] Re: 'power-management/rtc' job failed randomly
With some more testing, I found this was somehow caused by using fwts to do hibernate test If hibernate was triggered before this rtc test, the latter will fail. We used to have the hibernate key test before this rtc test, which will trigger hibernate in the early stage (see bug 1330399), therefore causing this issue. In conclusion, this should not happen again in checkbox-cli since the fix has been implemented. But for fwts itself, there seems to have a bug, I will open a report for it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1327075 Title: 'power-management/rtc' job failed randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/plainbox-provider-checkbox/+bug/1327075/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
