[Bug 1240940] Re: Need support for Realtek Wifi card rtl8723be [10ec:b723]
Having the same issue on a brand new Lenovo G50 with RealTek 8723be on 12.04.5 3.13-35 kernel. Tried fix in #55 with kernel panic as the result. (locked up system, flashing caps-lock led) I also can't seem to set options that are honored by the driver via /etc/modprob.d/rtl8723be.conf Is there is a different location for the .conf file I should be setting those? (I had to create the file as it was, the driver install did not create one) I'm not particularly interested in moving to 14.04 or 14.10 as this isn't my personal machine with the problem, but can upgrade the kernel if it's supported on lts-trusty. If not, then I'd hope this will work on 14.04 at the least. The owner isn't keen on non-lts releases if they are avoidable. [Bug 1374166] [NEW] Document ow to add swap space on Azure resource disk
Public bug reported: The process for creating a swap partition on Ubuntu VMs on Azure is not well understood or documented. Most of the documentation on Azure generally refers to using the walinuxagent to manage the swap space on the resource disk (ephemeral disk). [Bug 988337] Re: two chromium icons on the launcher
It happened to me too and I found a solution: 1) Open /usr/share/applications/google-chrome.desktop with sudo privileges in some editor. 2) Open Chromium or Chrome browser. Does not matter, if it shows in a different icon or not. 3) Open a terminal and type: xprop | grep WM_CLASS 4) Your mouse pointer will change into a cross. With this cross click anywhere inside the Chrome/ium window. Something like this will show up in the terminal: WM_CLASS(STRING) = Google-chrome-stable, Google-chrome-stable 5) In the editor, in which you opened the *.desktop file, write on the second line (after the [Desktop Entry]): StartupWMClass=Google-chrome-stable or StartupWMClass=whatever was in the terminal output (in either of the quotes). 6)Save the file and the result should be seen immediately.
