I tried two nights ago to install the alpha 2 but was unable to do it. When I tried, ubiqity was starting the bouncing cursor and then stopping. When I did the command from the shell, I found that it was failing to delete a file called polkit-inhibit (sorry, forgot the directory for the moment). Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that a package failed to install due to a segmentation fault in the application being used for the package installation process. Unfortunately, this bug report isn't very useful in its current state and a crash report would be much more useful. Could you try recreating this issue by enabling apport to catch the crash report 'sudo service apport start force_start=1' and then trying to install the same package again? I see a similar effect on mako vivid-proposed. Sometimes after doing nothing for a few hours I pick up the phone and find it having no data connection at all, without any action from me. [Bug 1425991] [NEW] Networks I have never connected to should be confined to the More Networks folder
Public bug reported: When a user clicks the network manager indicator, a dropdown appears and lists wifi networks. This menu should NOT display networks that the user has never connected to. Networks the user has never connected to should only display in the More networks folder. At a mininum, the user should be given the ability to confine unwanted networks in the More networks folder. It is an unproductive design choice to force users to have to wade through networks they have never connected to (networks they will never connect to) in their menu. Numerous reasons exist why a user will not use the Auto-Connect setting for wireless networks. So it makes sense and is more efficient to have the menu only display the networks the user makes active use of and no more. When I click on the Network Manager Indicator and select Edit Connections and then look under the Wifi heading, only a couple networks appear. So why do 5 or more networks (networks I have never connected to, networks I never will connect to) perpetually show in the Network Indicator menu? They should not be displayed like they are. They should be confined to the More networks folder. Alternatively, there should be a way to manually confine/sandbox unwanted networks to this folder so they no longer display in the dropdown menu. In the interest of providing a visual example of what I am talking about, here is a picture of some networks I would like to hide/remove from my Network Indicator menu. http://a.pomf.se/fdqlnn.png ** Affects: indicator-network (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1425991 Title: Networks I have never connected to should be confined to the More Networks folder To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-network/+bug/1425991/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1336742] [NEW] Caching responses with Vary header
You have been subscribed to a public bug by Robie Basak (racb): See the upstream bug report for more details [1], but it seems as though squid in trusty isn't caching any response which includes a vary header [2]. The upstream bug was fixed in 3.3.12 [3]. Steps to reproduce: * Setup an application returning responses with Vary: User-Agent * Add squid in front of an application server * Make multiple requests to squid Expected result: * Second request is a Hit Actual result: * Second (and subsequent) requests are all misses. Repeat without a Vary header and things are cached as expected. Note, I've only reproduced this with a specific setup (as in [2]), I've not yet reproduced with a simplified setup to be certain I'm seeing the upstream bug. [Bug 1412730] Re: DELL U2415 monitor detection issues
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected reproducible vivid ** Description changed: My Laptop HP Elitebook 8740w has two external screens connected. 1 DELL U2412M connected to vga connector 1 DELL U2415 connected to Displayport. I worked for about a year with a single external display, just U2412M on the displayport without the issue I decribe. The first issue: When booting up and with screens attatched and active, the 2415 boots in 1024x768 resolution, the 2412 boots at the same moment in 1920x1200 as it should. At the point where the login screen appears the 2415 goes in power save mode, most of the time. The 2412 displays just fine at the moment. After logging in, turning the 2415 off and on, sometimes helps the get the screen active (out of power save). When it gets active, the resoltion is 1024x768, not 1920x1200. In unity-control-center in display settings the 2415 is displayed as Unknown Display and the maximum resolution I can select is 1024x768. Second issue: After a laptop suspend the 2415 doenst alway become active again, the 2412 always. Turning off an on the 2415 multiple time mostly helps to get the screen active. Current partial workaround: xorg.conf with monitor section for 1920x1200 as in attatchment. This doesn't solve booting in 1024x768, but solves the resolution after logging in. unity-control-center still lists Unknown Screen Another strange behavior: when executing xrandr command, most of the time the 2415 stays in 1024, but after a number of executions the screen swithes to 1920x1200. At that moment xrandr outputs all possible resolutions as it should. When executing xrandr another time the 2415 switches back to 1024x768 Already tried kernel v3.18.3-vivid, no change. Also tried Utopic live cd, no change. Tried Windows 8.1, no issues with both screens. [Bug 1412730] Re: DELL U2415 monitor detection issues
Hi Christopher, The issues still exist, so still unknown display in All Settings - Displays, wrong resolution (highest 1024x786) on U2415, power saving issue on U2415. The issues seem exactly the same as on trusty. I was not able to use the daily live iso, for xdiagnose extra debugging option requires /etc/default/grub to be updated and only works after reboot. I had a physical Vivid install already running on this laptop (multi-boot), which i keep as clean as possible and use for this kind of issues, so no customizations. So I upgraded this vivid install to the current state with apt-get dist-upgrade. After that I enabled xdiagnose extra debugging, deleted ~/.config/monitors.xml, booted and started the apport collection as you requested. Please tell me if I can help you with more information. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1412730 Title: DELL U2415 monitor detection issues To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1412730/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I was able to get Ubuntu 15.04 installed on our IBM E880 (9119-MHE) using this ibmvfc driver. Since we intend to use this in production, I was told here was the place to request inclusion of this driver into 14.04 LTS and 14.10. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I can't reproduce this on 1.7.0-1. [Bug 1379210] Re: iam roles not working 100%
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. As Vivid is on 1.7.0-1 now, I'll mark this Fix Released for Vivid, and create a task for 14.04. We cannot update 14.04 to a newer version. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates for rationale.
