[Bug 1459600] [NEW] libxl guest fails to start due to incorrect emulator setting
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Recent versions of libvirt are using the contents of the emulator option in the devices section. For a while we were using qemu-dm which was correct when the deprecated xm toolstack was in use. Since the option was not really used, there was no need to change this and using the xl stack (through libxl) was automatically picking up the right qemu path. But now we have to be correct. Upstream assumes a Xen specific binary and path which will at some point be provided through the pkg-config mechanism by libxen-dev. This is not needed for Deabian/Ubuntu because we make use of the qemu binary provided by the qemu package. So we only need to change two things (and they are not upstream-able because they are special): 1. for new configs always use /usr/bin/qemu-system-i386 2. when loading old configs replace qemu-dm by the new path ** Affects: libvirt (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Stefan Bader (smb) Status: Triaged -- libxl guest fails to start due to incorrect emulator setting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1459600 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libvirt in Ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1348890] Re: Asus UX32LN: Brightness keys Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 don't generate evdev event
This bug affects all current ASUS UX305FA models, tested with BIOS 206 and 207 and Kernel 3.19 and up to Kernel 4.0.4 from mainline. Kernel parameters acpi_osi= or acpi_backlight=intel do not work at all, acpi_osi only disables the WMI control (possibly another bug). How are these ACPI events generated? If the BIOS does not supply the event, maybe it must be enabled with some control sequence? (acpi_listen mostly doesn't say anything if pressing Fn+F-keys.) I saw that e.g. for newer hybrid touchpads, you need to initialize the device with an ACPI command so that it will either work in PS2 or I2C mode. Otherwise it will either be off or the mode is not what I wanted. Maybe this works the same way here and we only have to enable these key events? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1348890 Title: Asus UX32LN: Brightness keys Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 don't generate evdev event To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1348890/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1459603] [NEW] libxl: Domain verification on edit fails with Extra element os in interleave
Public bug reported: Error reporting for XML validation is hopeless. What causes this is the fact that for HVM guests we have a loader element which is set to hvmloader. But upstream wants this to be an absolute path to the binary. To make things a bit more funny, the XML validation is only enabled by default for edit, not create. We need to replace hvmloader in the config by the full path, which is a bit complicated because the binary is provided in a versioned subdirectory. Since libvirt is only compiled against *one* version, we always have to try replacing older paths by newer ones as well as options without path by the current full path. To help with this upstream libvirt started to set LIBXL_FIRMWARE_DIR through dpk-config, but the current Xen (4.5) does not provide a xenlight.pc file. So we need to ensure the value is set by other means and then add code to change paths when post processing the configs. ** Affects: libvirt (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Assignee: Stefan Bader (smb) Status: Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1459603 Title: libxl: Domain verification on edit fails with Extra element os in interleave To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1459603/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1456597] Re: ubuntu-mate-settings 0.4.5 release [debdiff attached]
The packages that have overlays do not have system configuration capabilities. Previously I was putting the configs into /etc/skel but some sponsors were uncomfortable with that, and reasonably so, so I made the overlays. The overlays only work in a MATE sessions and will not overwrite pre-existing configuration. This overlay approach was previously approved by a sponsor. I am working withthe upstreams to add system configuration to the applications. Again the desktop files onlh affect the MATE session. Some are now hidden in MATE because they are directly integrated or the categorisation has been changed slightly to remove duplicate menu entries or correct the placement in the System menus. Again, I working with upstreams to change this where possible. ** Changed in: ubuntu-mate-settings (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1456597 Title: ubuntu-mate-settings 0.4.5 release [debdiff attached] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-mate/+bug/1456597/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1451448] Re: bzr fails to build on vivid (release) and trusty (test-rebuild only)
Sorry for the reply delay :-/ I've been able to reproduce on vivid. These tests are racy (yet another occurrence of running a TCP server and client in the same process (different threads)). Out of the ~800 http tests, those two ones are the simplest: they connect to an http server that always reply with a 'Bad status' message and close the connection. Running 'bzr selftest --parallel=fork -v -s bt.test_http.TestBadStatusServer' repeatedly, I can: - see the test pass, - see the test fail as reported, - see the test hang Definitely a race :-/ This can be fixed in two ways: - run the server in a separate process, - identify the race more precisely and fix it. The former requires some tedious work, the later requires some deep investigation :-/ I've sent a patch to debian to disable these tests until they are properly fixed. We don't lose significant coverage doing so (pqm will still run them to gate lp:bzr). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1451448 Title: bzr fails to build on vivid (release) and trusty (test-rebuild only) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bzr/+bug/1451448/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1456597] Re: ubuntu-mate-settings 0.4.5 release [debdiff attached]
The overlaying approach is quite disturbing - we try to avoid packages poking in users' directories. Why is it necessary - can you not prepend a directory to XDG_CONFIG_DIRS and use a system location? Generally things should be looking (or copying from) there. [Bug 1455598] Re: connecting 2x 4k displays in ubuntu 15.04 with daisy chain displayport (MST)
D, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is manually attached. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. First, execute at a terminal: cd /var/crash sudo rm * ; sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get -y upgrade sudo service apport start force_start=1 If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now reproduce the crash, then open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. If you run the command against the crash report and a window pops up asking you to report this, but then never opens a new report, you would be affected by https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/994921 . In order to WORKAROUND this, one would need to open the following file via a command line: sudo nano /etc/apport/crashdb.conf and comment out the line: 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'], by changing it to: # 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'], Save, close, and try to file the crash report again via: ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Please feel free to subscribe me to this new report. Also, please do not attach your crash report manually to this report and reopen it. Thank you for your understanding.
