[Bug 1460935] [NEW] REPACK and PROPER torrents in RSS feeds are not handled properly

2015-06-01 Thread István Váradi
Public bug reported:

When an RSS feed contains a certain episode of a series and later the
feed is updated with a REPACK or PROPER version of that episode, the new
version is considered to be the same as the old one. However, FatRat
should distinguish the two and download the newer one as well if so
configured.

The reason for the faulty behaviour is the wrong arguments for some
string matching functions. A patch is attached to fix the issue.

** Affects: fatrat (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Patch added: "fatrat.patch"

[Bug 837882] Re: Vim on Ubuntu is compiled without clipboard and xterm_clipboard support

2015-06-01 Thread Leyli Cecil
I fully agree with Garnet. Vim's current package nomenclature is
counter-intuitive, counter-productive, and arguably constitutes a bug.
While there do exist use cases for a headless Ubuntu, I'd contend that
those are largely edge use cases. For Ubuntu and like-minded GUI-centric
Linux distros (e.g., Mint), non-headless desktop, laptop, and touch
devices predominate.

Given that, the average user has every expectation of a package named
"vim" installing a fully featured CLI-specific version of Vim supporting
the average working environment: the X11-based desktop metaphor,
complete with clipboard and mouse integration. Since this is currently
not the case, the current "vim" package should ideally be renamed as
Garnet suggests (e.g., to "vim-console") and a new "vim" package
providing a fully featured CLI-specific version of Vim instated in its
place.

Thanks for your continued efforts, Ubuntu developers. It's gratefully
appreciated.

Sorry for an error.

This error happened on a computer I was working on, NOT this one.

How do I get this terminal process to work over THERE??

I gave my permission for this computer to access my LaunchPad account.

It should have been done on the OTHER computer.

How to fix?

Thanks,

[Bug 1297849] Re: [SRU] Virtual private network connection fails after distribution upgrade due to outdated Network Manager configuration files

2015-06-01 Thread Trent Lloyd
I keep running into this on multiple installations, with openconnect.

Removing only ~/.gconf/apps/nm-applet/%gconf.xml always fixes it for me, yet
that file is basically blank with just a change time.
And it gets recreated yet continues to work (for quite some time) but
occasionally I have to remove it again.

Just logging out/in doesn't fix it, can be broken for days or weeks.
Obviously removing that file triggers something to occur as that file
itself does not change contents.

[Bug 1460898] [NEW] Fails to turn backlight off on MX4

2015-06-01 Thread Chris Halse Rogers
Public bug reported:

It seems that the backlight on the MX4 is not being consistently turned
off; if you lock the screen and take the phone into a darkened room it's
clear that the backlight is on.

It *sometimes* seems to be turned off after a minute, but not
consistently. I've had the backlight stay on overnight on an otherwise
idle phone.

Reviewing the files from your upgrade attempt you seem to have enabled
the xorg-edgers-ppa. This will prevent the upgrade as that PPA contains
different versions of packages essential to Ubuntu. The page,

how to revert to the official Xorg packages. Thanks.

[Bug 1443288] Re: Unusable in Trusty; upgrade to 1.3.2

[Bug 1459557] Re: partitions blacklisted in launcher keep coming back

2015-06-01 Thread Mike Cornelison
I characterized this problem more clearly. The culprit is the program
gnome-disk-utility. If standby time or APM is set to ON, all partitions
of the drive are added to the launcher. If they are removed with "unlock
from launcher" they come back with the next reboot. If the standby time
and APM are set to OFF, normal launcher behavior returns. This started
happening in May 2015. In my case the disk is /dev/sdb which contains
various rarely used Linux partitions (old versions of Ubuntu, Fedora,
Suse, Mint) and is normally not spinning (APM set for spin-down).

2015-06-01 Thread Zack
I have the Gigabyte P35w v2 as well and this bug also effects me. It
only effects the speakers/subwoofer. Everything else is uneffected.

This occurs on first boot as well as resuming from sleep

[Bug 1458231] Re: Using displayport with external monitor flickers laptop screen

2015-06-01 Thread maKA
Hi Christopher, I updated the BIOS as you mentioned and it still does
not improve the situation.

There is a lag both in the mouse movement and the appearance of typed
text that occurs only on my external monitor. On the built-in display
there is no lag at all.

This is a video of what goes on the external monitor:
https://vine.co/v/ehwhK5nJ6q3

When I tried to use the nvidia proprietary driver, I am not able to
detect the built-in monitor for some odd reason.

Thank you very much for your help.

Kind Regards
Maka

[Bug 1460394] Re: package cgmanager 0.32-4ubuntu1.4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2015-06-01 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for reporting this bug.

I tried to reproduce this with a 14.04->14.10 upgrade, but the upgrade
succeeded.

Interestingly, the terminal log shows;

insserv: Service mountkernfs has to be enabled to start service
cgmanager

This suggests that you are running sysvinit rather than upstart? Is
that the case?

If that is the case, then there still should be no problem with
mountkernfs. What does 'sudo /etc/init.d/mountkernlfs start' show?

If it is *not* the case, then it sounds like your cgmanager package may
have been corrupted - is there a /etc/init/cgmanager.conf file? What
happens when you do 'sudo start cgmangaer'?
