[Bug 1153488] Re: Treats bluetooth input device batteries as batteries

2015-09-08 Thread darkMatter
I'm getting this error on Mint 17.2 w/kernel 3.19.0-26 too. My bluetooth
mouse seems to be fine (no battery registering), but my keyboard is
showing as a 2nd laptop battery. It keeps disconnecting my keyboard so
I have to press a button to wake it back up. Guessing it may be putting
it to sleep because of an idle setting somewhere?

[Bug 1493674] [NEW] [Dell Inspiron 3558] System can't pass the suspend 30 cycles stress test

2015-09-08 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Public bug reported:

CID: 201411-16162 Dell Insprion 3558

This system can pass a single suspend test but can't pass the 30 cycles suspend
stress test. It will hang somewhere in the process (not sure if it's resuming
or suspending).
With:
* screen off
* keyboard not responding
* does not respond to power button, you can't wake it up with that

However If you hold the power button for a while, you will hear that the
HDD stop spinning.

Steps:
1. Install 14.04.2 + updates (3.16.0-46)
2. Run the 30 cycle S3 stress test with checkbox

Expected result:
* System works fine after this stress test

Actual result:
* System hung during testing.

Reproduce rate: > 80%

[Bug 1490673] Re: Can't receive MMS for Orange or SOSH by Orange in france

2015-09-08 Thread Alfonso Sanchez-Beato
@Cyril, I see that nuntium is receiving a MMS and all seems good there.
Traces from nuntium.log:

2015/09/08 21:50:07 Push data
...
2015/09/08 21:50:08 Trying to set Active property to false for context on false
/ril_0/context3

If nothing is received I can only think of some problem in messaging-app
when trying to parse the message. Where did you send the MMS from, and
with which attachments? Have you tried to send the MMS from different
phones? If you can receive from some phone and not from others you could
open a bug for messaging-app.

Oggetto: [Bug 1492807] Re: the wi fi network do not work and no networs
werefound

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.2 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1414856] Re: [Toshiba Satellite P855-S5102] SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad Dead in 14.04

2015-09-08 Thread jtd
Christopher, I do not know if bugs.launchpad.net is "report to
bugzilla," but I have tested the latest upstream kernel:

Linux version 4.1.0-040100rc2-generic (kernel@gomeisa) (gcc version
4.6.3 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5) ) #201505032335 SMP Mon May 4
03:36:35 UTC 2015

The TouchPad still appears to be non-functional.

If I should report this somewhere else, I would appreciate a link and I
will report. Thanks for all your help!!

[Bug 1493667] [NEW] Missing registry endpoint for unconfined scopes

2015-09-08 Thread Michi Henning
Public bug reported:

The ubuntu-scope-network profile current does not list Registry-R as an
accessible endpoint (only Registry-s and Registry-p). We need the
Registry-R endpoint accessible to confined scopes as well, otherwise
they can't query the registry for existing scopes.

This endpoint was meant to be accessible all along. We never noticed
that it was missing until now because, normally, only aggregators call
list() and get_metadata(), and aggregators run unconfined. But the
methods need to be accessible to confined scopes too.

Could you please add the Registry-R endpoint?

[Bug 1493663] [NEW] updates not downloading

2015-09-08 Thread Justin
Public bug reported:

with phone on wifi connection downloads of app and scope updates are not
working - regardless of whether the update all button is used or the
individual download option is selected; prior to realease 4 a large
number of updates were backed up. However release 4 downloaded and
installed fine, so now only a reduced number of uninstalled updates is
in the list.

[Bug 1397095]

2015-09-08 Thread step21
On Xubuntu 15.04 with XFCE 4.12, the bug is still active.

There is now no need of the snapshot widget to reproduce the bug.
To reproduce the bug, just boot the Xubuntu ISO as a live-CD into a VirtulBox,
open a Thunar window then drag it.
The Whisker button disappears...

[Bug 1487365] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla

2015-09-08 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From venka...@in.ibm.com 2015-09-09 04:09 EDT---
Hi Mauricio,

First of all its blocking two of our test-cases. One which explicitly
says to install OS on Raid and other test case, also needs to be
installed OS on Raid and one of the drive to be hot-pluged and data(OS
should be up and running) should be intact.

And, this being firestone machine, which has only two SATA drive and no
adaptor is present to access these drives, So it become even more
critical, that we test this scenario. As customer may obviously want to
install OS on RAID1 rather than installing on just a plain drive, for
obvious reasons.

Thanks,
Venkat.

freezes,in Ubuntu the entire desktop freezes.

[Bug 1493649] [NEW] kde Shut down/Restart/Logout buttons stopped working after installation of nvidia-346 package

2015-09-08 Thread João Alberto
Public bug reported:

I have a notebook with a NVIDIA GeForce 840M GPU. The OS is Ubuntu
14.04. Both Unity and kde-plasma-desktop are installed. Everything was
configured and running smoothly while the Nouveau display driver
(xserver-xorg-video-nouveau) was being used, but after installing the
nvidia-346 package (as explained in
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/Nvidia) the Shut
down, Restart and Logout buttons in kde stopped working. Also in kde,
I'm unable to change the driver in the "Software & Updates -> Additional
Drivers" or change the GPU in "NVIDIA X Server Settings -> Prime
Profiles". However, everything works perfectly in Unity.

ps:. Right after loggin in kde, the system strangely seems to freeze for
few seconds (maybe something like 20 seconds), after answering and start
working normally.

The software versions are:
kde-plasma-desktop 5:78ubuntu13
nvidia-346 346.82-0ubuntu0.2

I hope you can help me.

I have the same crash backtrace again and again but from different
reasons. Sometimes its emacs, than its libreoffice, but it can also be
chromium browser or firefox. Mostly - I'm not sure its when i resize
the windows - but that is just a guess, because it does not happen
systematically from my point of view. (its the same with awesome
windowmanager or enlightenment)

It just coredumps

I will add the core dump and also the X log file and the .xsession-error
(which differs a bit)

But I think emacs core dumps just because of the xorg coredump which
comes first.

I can more or less reproduce it by resizing the frames in 'git gui' but

I added my own log file and backtraces.

Which window manager(s) does it happen with for you?

Do you guys use any special window manager configuration, e.g. non-
opaque window resizes?

That worked for 20 emails, but now it crashed with the same Xorg

I use awesome windowmanager, and will add my rc.lua for you. I don't
think there are special configurations.

Here is my xorg config:

#!/bin/bash

if [ -d /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d ] ; then
for f in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/?* ; do
[ -x "$f" ] && . "$f"
done
unset f
fi

[[ -f ~/.Xresources ]] && xrdb -merge ~/.Xresources

exec awesome
-- end .xinitrc -

  * fix build against LibreOffice 5.0 series

^ Please explain (shortly) in changelog what the change was, if it makes
sense to do so in changelog -- by that I mean, something more along the
lines of "update classpath to fix build against LibreOffice 5.0 series".
It's slightly longer, but precise changelog entries make for much easier
reviewing, both for sponsors and archive admins when during freezes (or
even for tracking down issues years from now).

[Bug 1491964] Re: [FFE] LibreOffice 5.0.x for wily

2015-09-08 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
I noticed this in .changes for libreoffice: - use internal libwps,
opencollada, collada2gltf, libcmis, cppunit.
Without looking any deeper just now, that feels very wrong. Either there should
be more rationale as to why this was suddenly changed, or it's misdescribed (I
see in changes merged from Debian changes in versions for some of these).

There's also mentions of disabling -evolution and -kde temporarily
because parts they depended on were uninstallable in Debian -- they
might not be uninstallable in Ubuntu. I think it would be better to
double-check them and keep them available if they were already available
in previous releases, since it would otherwise mean a regression for
some users.

Finally, is it normal for libreoffice and libreoffice-l10n to have
exactly the same changelog? Even if they come from the same upstream
source tarball, they appear to be two different source packages, and in
the case of -l10n, at least some of the changelog entries wouldn't mean
anything.

[Bug 1493638] [NEW] Simple GTK+ application with single label crashes XMir

2015-09-08 Thread Robert Ancell
Public bug reported:

The following program (compile with gcc -g -Wall test-gtk.c -o test-gtk
`pkg-config --cflags --libs gtk+-3.0`):

#include

int main (int argc, char **argv)
{
gtk_init (&argc, &argv);

GtkWidget *w = gtk_window_new (GTK_WINDOW_TOPLEVEL);
gtk_widget_show (w);

GtkWidget *l = gtk_label_new ("M");
gtk_widget_show (l);
gtk_container_add (GTK_CONTAINER (w), l);

gtk_main ();

return 0;
}

Causes XMir to crash. Removing the label causes it to run fine.

The possibilities I've been investigating are:
- We're not setting the GLES context correctly

[Bug 1493625] [NEW] Fails to generate texture when running zenity on Nexus 4

2015-09-08 Thread Robert Ancell
Public bug reported:

Test case:
1. Run XMir on a Nexus 4:
$ Xmir :0 --desktop_file_hint=dialer-app
2. Run zenity
2. DISPLAY=:0 zenity --info

XMir hits an assertion:
Xmir: glamor_fbo.c:189: glamor_pixmap_ensure_fb: Assertion `fbo->tex != 0'
failed.

Digging into the code, the failure is occurring in _glamor_create_tex
(glamor/glamor_fbo.c). The glGenTextures is returning a 0 for the
texture and not setting an error code in glGetError.

[Bug 1491192] Re: Mouse Flickering When 3rd USB Monitor is Enabled - 15.04 Unity

2015-09-08 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
AE Grey, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As
per http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Q400A an update
to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (209). If you
update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate
does it change anything?

If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the
output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't
have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then
please mark this report Status New.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1442112] Re: booting ppc64el with hwe-u kernel hangs in initrd

2015-09-08 Thread Sagar Shukla
Part of my production environment was configured with MAAS 1.5 version
and recently I upgraded MAAS to 1.8 version after which I start seeing
issues while configuring 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04.5 image.

Any workaround available?

I am kind of blocked to do provisioning. Earliest update would be very
much appreciated.

[Bug 1493615] [NEW] update-grub ignores linux partition

2015-09-08 Thread David Knowles
Public bug reported:

Successfully upgraded to vivid. During an update to the kernel the
system regenerated the grub menu which ignored the root partition on my
SSD.

Output from parted -l

Model: ATA OCZ-AGILITY3 (scsi)
Disk /dev/sda: 60.0GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: msdos
Disk Flags:

Number Start End SizeType File system Flags
 1  1049kB  368MB   367MB   primary   ntfs boot
 2  369MB   60.0GB  59.7GB  extended
 5  369MB   60.0GB  59.7GB  logical   ext4

Model: ATA WDC WD15EADS-00R (scsi)
Disk /dev/sdb: 1500GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: msdos
Disk Flags:

Number Start End SizeType File system Flags

 4  632GB   1496GB  864GB   primary  ext4
 3  1496GB  1500GB  4721MB  primary  linux-swap(v1)

update-grub correctly identifies the partitions on:
sdb1
sdb4

It ignores the partition on
sda5

Thus the default kubuntu which boots is the one on sdb4 which is an
older copy of kubuntu 13.10 rather than the later 15.04 on sda5.

Interestingly running update-grub on the old copy of Kubuntu correctly
generates a grub.cfg with an entry for sda5.

For this reason I believe this is a late change to the grub code base
which is causing this defect.

This is a section of dmesg relating to the drives.
