[Bug 1653560] Re: smartctl should output RAW_VALUE as Temperature_Celcius
Normalization seems to be: Temperature_Celcius_normalized = 150 - Temperature_Celcius_RAW_VALUE In my case: 112 = 150 - 38 That said, my hard disk's temperature has 112% health. Values below 100% mean that the hard disk is hotter than 50°C. As powersj pointed out, this is documented behaviour. It's not a bug, respectively. Eventually, normalization is done by hard disk vendors, meaning that WD is perfectly fine with 50°C (=100% "health"). It's just confusing, especially in syslog. Eventually, an interpretation could be given in syslog? E.g. Jan 2 20:22:27 server smartd[876]: Device: /dev/sda [SAT], SMART Usage Attribute: 194 Temperature_Celsius: Thermal health changed from 110% (40°C) to 112% (38°C) Additionally, only logging values below 100% health (or a user specified threshold) makes sense to me. If everything is fine, it should not be reported in syslog periodically (by default at least). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1653560 Title: smartctl should output RAW_VALUE as Temperature_Celcius To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/smartmontools/+bug/1653560/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1653873] [NEW] gnome-calendar desktop file claims text/calendar mime support, but doesn't actually open such files
Public bug reported: release: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS package version: 3.20.4-0ubuntu0.1 Expected behavior: gnome-calendar displays text/calendar file contents OR doesn't report support for such files so that some other application will be used. Observed behavior: gnome-calendar registers itself as supporting text/calendar files, but doesn't actually open them, at least not on launch by an external program, such as any mailcap program or Nautilus. >From Nautilus, gnome-calendar never opens. From mailcap applications, gnome-calendar opens but just shows a calendar. Additional details: Found when using a mail client that uses mailcap to find programs to open attachments. The /etc/mailcap file claims that, to open files of type text/calendar (e.g. *.ics files), one should run 'gnome-calendar %s' replacing %s with the filename: text/calendar; gnome-calendar %s; test=test -n "$DISPLAY" I found via tracing that this line comes from when the update-mime program parses /usr/share/applications/org.gnome.Calendar.desktop from the gnome-calendar package, which includes the line MimeType=text/calendar; The actual behavior of running gnome-calendar in this way is that it ignores the file argument and just shows a calendar and does not view the file specified. Relatedly, this desktop file also seems to result in Nautilus thinking that gnome-calendar should open a .ics file, but when opening a file via nautilus, I get an indicator showing that gnome-calendar is launching, but no window opens and the indicator eventually times out. ** Affects: gnome-calendar (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1653873 Title: gnome-calendar desktop file claims text/calendar mime support, but doesn't actually open such files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-calendar/+bug/1653873/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1300133] Re: Generate ED25519 host keys on upgrade
openssh 1:7.4p1-5 just landed in zesty. Among the changes, from 1:7.4p1-1: * Start handling /etc/ssh/sshd_config using ucf. The immediate motivation for this is to deal with deprecations of options related to protocol 1, but something like this has been needed for a long time (closes: #419574, #848089): - sshd_config is now a slightly-patched version of upstream's, and only contains non-default settings (closes: #147201). - I've included as many historical md5sums of default versions of sshd_config as I could reconstruct from version control, but I'm sure I've missed some. - Explicitly synchronise the debconf database with the current configuration file state in openssh-server.config, to ensure that the PermitRootLogin setting is properly preserved. - UsePrivilegeSeparation now defaults to the stronger "sandbox" rather than "yes", per upstream. Switching to the upstream configuration file has the effect (if sshd_config was previously some stock version, or if the admin accepts the ucf-prompted changes) of commenting out all the HostKey lines, at which point sshd will default to a set including ed25519 and the postinst will generate that host key. I think that addresses this bug as thoroughly as is possible. ** Changed in: openssh (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released ** Changed in: openssh (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Colin Watson (cjwatson) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1300133 Title: Generate ED25519 host keys on upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/1300133/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks. It depends on how postfix is configured (via Debconf) if these are needed or not. I think ordering is all we need since, in some cases we've seen issues with the current service file. [Bug 1585863] Re: WiFi malfunction after suspend & resume stress - sudo wpa_cli scan required to fix it.
This bug seems to affect a lot of people on Ask Ubuntu too: "Wifi doesn't work after suspend after 16.04 upgrade" http://askubuntu.com/questions/761180/wifi-doesnt-work-after-suspend- after-16-04-upgrade, including me. I have a Thinkpad T440 where I previously ran Fedora for multiple releases. Never had any issues with the wifi in combination with sleep/resume. The other day I installed Ubuntu 16.04.1 and ran an update. The workaround on Ask Ubuntu that is to run `sudo systemctl restart network-manager.service` works for me, but I feel this shouldn't be an issue in the first place after the first service pack on an LTS release. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1585863 Title: WiFi malfunction after suspend & resume stress - sudo wpa_cli scan required to fix it. [Bug 1573720] Re: Unencrypted private keys are insecure error reported even when key is encrypted
As a workaround, I am able (at least on this 16.10 laptop) to configure an EAP-TLS connection with no problem by avoiding the buggy GUI network manager client and creating the network profile with the command line: nmcli connection add \ type wifi con-name "MySSID" ifname wifi0 ssid "MySSID" -- \ wifi-sec.key-mgmt wpa-eap 802-1x.eap tls 802-1x.identity "USERNAME" \ 802-1x.ca-cert ~/ca.pem 802-1x.client-cert ~/cert.pem \ 802-1x.private-key-password "..." 802-1x.private-key ~/key.pem I can now run `nmcli connection up MySSID` and connect to the network without error. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573720 Title: Unencrypted private keys are insecure error reported even when key is encrypted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/network-manager/+bug/1573720/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
