[Bug 1939417] Re: Ubuntu GUI crashes (w and w/o Wayland), VM_L2_PROTECTION_FAULT, amdgpu 0000:09:00.0: [gfxhub0] retry page fault
"The requested URL was not found on this server." is what I get when I try to download the dep-packages mentioned before. Feedback: The machine wilhelm with kernel 5.11.0-34-generic experiences plenty of crashes, running instable. Completely different applications running when GUI suddenly freezes and most times whole OS is stale. Machine with 5.11.0-34-generic kernel crashes not often. [Bug 1926937] Re: [SRU] Virtualbox new release 6.1.26
Hi Eduardo, as pointed out earlier by Simon, the virtualbox-guest- additions-iso and virtualbox-ext-pack packages are separate and are not installed automatically. Did you have these packages installed before? From the terminal, use "sudo apt list virtualbox*" to check their status on your system. For my Focal system, after upgrading virtualbox to 6.1.26 from the repo, I checked from the VirtualBox GUI via Tools -> Preferences -> Extensions and found that the "VNC" extension was now on version 6.1.26 but that the "Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack" was still on version 6.1.22. Rather than downloading the latest extension pack from the oracle website and updating it in the GUI directly as I did before, this time I (first closed the GUI) installed the package for it via terminal "sudo apt install virtualbox-ext-pack" and when I went back into the GUI to check it was updated there. Same with installing the virtualbox-guest-additions-iso package, I did not need to download the latest guest additions inside of the Guest OS, which I was prompted to do when the latest ISO could not be found before. So long as these related packages are updated in line with the main virtualbox packages in future, then I think it will be automatic next time, but you do need to make sure they are installed on your system first. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926937 Title: [SRU] Virtualbox new release 6.1.26 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/1926937/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1942434] Re: Ugly non-US characters in Preview mode and PDF export
First, I was not able to find the way to change the font, I was looking to preferences and it is not there, so I assumed that my version of ReText cannot change font in an easy way and I was looking to creation of custom css file. Later I realized my mistake, I can change the editor and preview font, it is at different place, directly in menu. I changed font to "DejaVu Serif" (this font works good), and it is written to config file: ``` $ cat ~/.config/ReText\ project/ReText.conf ``` ``` [General] font=DejaVu Serif fontSize=12 recentFileList=/home/user/test-font-cz.mkd, /home/user/test-list.mkd ``` From my point of view, ReText should define some well known default font. See : - http://postfixadmin.sf.net - #postfixadmin on irc.freenode.net - The first line redirects to a https://postfixadmin.sourceforge.io/, which then says: - Installation Please follow INSTALL.TXT (shipped with PostfixAdmin). - This file is nowhere to be found in the /usr/share/doc/postfixadmin directory: root@mailserver:/usr/share/doc/postfixadmin# find ./ | grep -i install.txt root@mailserver:/usr/share/doc/postfixadmin# Description:Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS Release:20.04 apt-cache policy postfixadmin postfixadmin: Installed: 3.2.1-3 Candidate: 3.2.1-3 Version table: *** 3.2.1-3 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu focal/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: postfixadmin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1942690 Title: Postfixadmin does not include the "INSTALL.TXT". [Bug 1942689] [NEW] template_c directory not created or not pointing to the right place.
Public bug reported: When installing postfixadmin from scratch you get an error: ERROR: the templates_c directory doesn't exist or isn't writeable for the webserver This is because there's a bug in smarty.inc.php: // if it's not present or writeable, smarty should just not cache. $templates_c = dirname(__FILE__) . '/../templates_c'; if (is_dir($templates_c) && is_writeable($templates_c)) { <...> die("ERROR: the templates_c directory doesn't exist or isn't writeable for the webserver"); } Where the location of templates_c is (a) hard-coded and (b) hard-coded to a questionable (and relative) location. [Bug 1926937] Re: [SRU] Virtualbox new release 6.1.26
AGain with Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS, i had to install virtualbox-ext and virtualbox-guest-addtions iso manually from synaptic. It didnt work at least the package with virtualbox-ext. Before this bug, the first time you started virtualbox, it automatically shows a message that newer version of extensionpack, is avalaible, and if you want to update... Then it asks for delete the old version. This doesnt appear in this release of vbox. I had to manually download Ext pack from Virtualbox download page. Seems that installing the guest-additons package it worked with latest version.

[Bug 1913198] Re: mouse acceleration does not work on Logitech G402 Mouse
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected groovy ** Description changed: i am using Logitech G402 Gaming mouse. ubuntu changes cursor speed faster when mouse speed fast, which is named as "Mouse Acceleration". this is activated by default. but somehow, this does not work with my G402 mouse. the cursor just moves with no acceleration. so i checked if my acceleration profile is incorrect with gnome-tweaks, and it was set to 'default'. regardless how i change "Acceleration Profile", it just moves without acceleration. weird thing is changing acceleration profile between "Default"(Adaptive) and "Flat" does something. 'flat' gives much wider range to mouse speed slider on system settings, fast is too fast, slow is too slow. i checked this with various version and distribution to confirm this is bug. all version listed below is tested on USB live boot system with default settings. affected version i checked: -Ubuntu 18.04 and variants -Ubuntu 19.04 and variants -Ubuntu 19.10 and variants -Ubuntu 20.04 and variants -Ubuntu 20.10 latest release with package update and variants other affected distribution i checked: -Debian buster latest Gnome release -Debian buster latest LXQt release -Fedora workstation latest network install - as this bug affects wide range of linux distributions, i belive this is - x11-related or driver issue but i have no idea which one is the problem. + as this bug affects wide range of linux distributions, i belive this is x11-related or driver issue but i have no idea which one is the problem. + --- + ProblemType: Bug + ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu50.7 + Architecture: amd64 + CasperMD5CheckResult: skip + CurrentDesktop: KDE + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.10 + InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-11-01 (307 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 20.10 "Groovy Gorilla" - Release amd64 (20201022) + IwConfig: + lono wireless extensions. + + enp34s0 no wireless extensions. + MachineType: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. [Bug 1938096] Re: [Lenovo X1 Carbon 9th] [SYNA8009:00 06CB:CE57] touchpad lagging after resume from suspend
Just to pick up on some of the above comments: - my understanding is this is a touchpad firmware bug so not much point reporting it to other distro's as well - it's not a Canonical/Ubuntu issue either IMO. - Using S0ix/modern suspend (or 'Windows and Linux') sleep mode setting in the BIOS is the fix. If you see other problems around S0ix they should be reported so we can fix those (you shouldn't see excessive battery drain). That's the supported/tested/certified sleep mode on these Tigerlake CPUs. We are working with Synaptics on a S3 fix - but it's been lower priority I'm afraid. I don't have an update or ETA yet. [Bug 1942679] [NEW] KeePassX unable to trigger on browser URL
Public bug reported: This is a WISHLIST feature request for package keepassx. Unfortunately, for those who switch from Windows to Linux, and in turn, keepass to keepassx, one is unable to easily utilize the add-on WebAutoType to match against website URLs in browsers. Please check out https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Filing_a_general_bug_against_no_particular_package (and the document in general). Please tell me the URL of the report thereafter. You told in #23 that you "Just ran in to this on Ubuntu 20.04", but to be precise it is not even possible, as Ubuntu 20.04 does not have linux- image-extra packages. Do linux-modules packages have some similar effect? Did you even try to remove a kernel by dpkg without running "update-initramfs -d"? Or did you even try removing a kernel by apt before that? It would be helpful if you provided the output of such commands that fail. You also told "The /boot partition is 732Mb, but is filled with initrd.img* files." Still there were no more of those than e.g. vmlinuz-* files in the listings you gave. I have contributed to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RemoveOldKernels, authored the linux- purge tool, made this bug report and provided the patch.
