[Bug 1950132] Re: Kubuntu jammy jellyfish daily test install crash
On 2021-11-07 daily-live Kubuntu Jammy Jellyfish INSTALLED without error. On 2021-11-08 a change had occurred which created bug 1950132. This change prevents/stops installation at the slideshow stage. I'm not a programmer or developer but I humbly suggest that a comparison of the changes from the 2021-11-07 version to the 2012-11-08 version might show where the problem lies. I think this is true for other flavours including Ubuntu itself. [Bug 1950912] Re: Drop-down Calendar menus unreadable in Thunderbird
The previous entry wasn't entirely correct. 91.2.1 was *also* using the configured Light Theme colours (for the colour of the "quote bar" in HTML messages). [Bug 1950912] Re: Drop-down Calendar menus unreadable in Thunderbird
Also (just noticed) that 91.3.1 has introduced *another* bug. I use the "Quote Colors" extension. It has the option to to set the text and background colours for quoted text. You can configure them separately for Light and Dark Themes. At 91.3.1 it is now using the text and background colours configured for a Light Theme, even though I am using a Dark Theme. It's seems that in many places Thunderbird (where many is a growing number) has lost track of the fact it is using a Dark Theme! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1950912 Title: Drop-down Calendar menus unreadable in Thunderbird To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thunderbird/+bug/1950912/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1951491] [NEW] Can't run snaps: .slice/session-1.scope is not a snap cgroup
Public bug reported: I just upgraded from hirsute to impish using do-release-upgrade. On the upgraded system, I can't run either firefox or chromium (both of which worked fine under hirsute). Both fail with: /user.slice/user-NNN.slice/session-1.scope is not a snap cgroup where NNN is my uid With firefox, I was able to fix the problem with: snap remove --purge firefox apt purge firefox apt install firefox Now firefox works. But I tried the same thing substituting chromium- browser for firefox, and it didn't help: chromium fails with the same error message. I guess there must be something left over from the hirsute version of snapd that isn't getting noticed or cleared by the impish version? I am not sure if this is also the cause for the printing issue, but this spam in the log is super annoying aswell and should be fixed. [Bug 1950087] Re: ubuntu 21.10 live usb does not recognize Razer Blade 15 (2021) nvme drive (possible kernel bug)
I am also having the exact same issue, though WiFI and Nvidia drivers worked as expected for me (with a tiny hiccup due to some intel wifi firmware blob being bad: iwlwifi-ty-a0-gf-a0.pnvm sha1sum: 0fca9ea9041f65585fcc860f3949832a69360a6f). [Bug 1951054] Re: libnginx-mod-http-lua at ubuntu impish
kskb: What Debian has done is 'patch' it to use the lua mod that is the version *before* requiring Resty Core. However, Ubuntu is not Debian and whether Debian uses Lua module or not still is not bearing on the Server Team's decision to not include or ship the Lua module in future releases of Ubuntu. At some point the Lua module is going to cease functioning because it's 'not updated anymore' due to the Resty Core requirements, and in Ubuntu we simply chose to nip that issue in the bud early rather than try to hack in the Lua module and then have a version of the module that is "no longer maintained". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1951054 Title: libnginx-mod-http-lua at ubuntu impish To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nginx/+bug/1951054/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1950855] Re: Can't enable snap to print on a usb printer
Are you sure the AppArmor changes are definitely required? If so this would to be done by adding these accesses to an appropriate interface within snapd (via a code-change to snapd itself - https://github.com/snapcore/snapd/) - and once that has been released, making sure the snap author plugs this interface with the snap. [Bug 1945590] Re: Thinkpad E14 Gen2: Kernel panic with trackpad and trackpoint enabled
@arighi i completely agree with manolo above and have also stated it before above, this bug has to be considered critical for the installer (all the *buntu installers) because on installer launch you just get a total kernel lockup/crash with no possibility to proceed. in fact i still don't understand why a total kernel crash with stack corruption on certain hardware is not classed as critical in itself (ie this bug itself should have importance critical). as manolo rightly says, an ugly crash on install attempt means any prospective new user trying any *buntu installer on any hardware with this trackpad will quite likely simply give up on *buntu, which is hardly what *buntu as a whole should want. imho there definitely needs to be new installer iso point releases at some stage before 22.04 once the working kernel is officially released. at the very least all ubuntu flavours need to amend their release/install notes with a new "Known issues" item for "Installer and live session" that details this kernel crash, which should be updated (on fixed kernel release) with the work-around (disable trackpad/trackpoint, install, upgrade kernel, re-enable trackpad/trackpoint) to get the system installed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1945590 Title: Thinkpad E14 Gen2: Kernel panic with trackpad and trackpoint enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1945590/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1932328] Re: Thunderbird under Wayland does not correctly close (or manage) windows
Can anyone confirm behavior I'm seeing which may be related to this bug? Several people are reporting that Alt+Tab stops working when this bug happens, but can you please tell me if Super+Tab starts doing what Alt+Tab is supposed to do? I've actually noticed *that* behavior more than the primary issues of this bug (because I use Alt+Tab more than Thunderbird, I guess), but knowing that this is what's causing it would be a help to me. Public bug reported: == Comment: #0 - Andreas Krebbel - 2021-11-15 09:29:44 == ---Problem Description--- Segmentation fault from WebKit Javascript engine Contact Information = andreas.kreb...@de.ibm.com ---uname output--- Linux 193438490afd 5.8.15-301.fc33.s390x #1 SMP Thu Oct 15 15:55:57 UTC 2020 s390x s390x s390x GNU/Linux Machine Type = IBM Z ---Debugger--- A debugger is not configured ---Steps to Reproduce--- index.html: min.js: var i = Math.max wkhtmltopdf index.html test.pdf QStandardPaths: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set, defaulting to '/tmp/runtime-root' Loading page (1/2) Segmentation fault (core dumped) ] 17% Userspace tool common name: wkhtmltopdf The userspace tool has the following bit modes: 64 Userspace rpm: libqt5webkit5 Userspace tool obtained from project website: na *Additional Instructions for andreas.kreb...@de.ibm.com: -Attach ltrace and strace of userspace application. == Comment: #1 - Andreas Krebbel - 2021-11-15 09:44:04 == In CodeBlock.cpp the code preparing the operands of op_get_from_scope writes the property offset as pointer size (hence 64 bit) value: 2141: instructions[i + 6].u.pointer = reinterpret_cast(op.operand); while the same slot is accessed later by the jitted code as 32 bit integer: macro getProperty(slow) loadisFromInstruction(6, t1) This fails on big endian targets since the integer access takes the higher part of the 64 bit value. Changing: macro getProperty(slow) loadisFromInstruction(6, t1) to macro getProperty(slow) loadpFromInstruction(6, t1) in llint/LowLevelInterpreter64.asm fixes the problem for me. I could not reproduce the problem on Ubuntu 20.10. In upstream webkit the problem got fixed as a side effect of a larger change but in the end quite similar to the change I'm proposing. The value resides somewhere else now but it is accessed as 64 bit value in getProperty: macro getProperty() loadp OpGetFromScope::Metadata::m_operand[t5], t1 If you have the jsc binary from the webkit package available the problem can be reproduced with just 'jsc -e "i=Math.min"' == Comment: #2 - Andreas Krebbel - 2021-11-15 09:49:55 == ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Skipper Bug Screeners (skipper-screen-team) Status: New ** Tags: architecture-s39064 bugnameltc-195436 severity-high targetmilestone-inin--- ** Tags added: architecture-s39064 bugnameltc-195436 severity-high targetmilestone-inin--- -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1951470 Title: webkit javascript segmentation fault To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1951470/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1949089] Re: systemd randomly fails to activate mount units in Ubuntu Core 18
I spend a bit more time bisecting the various core18 snaps to see at what revision the failure started to become reproducible. Interestingly I found that it started with r2208 AFAICT. It's all a bit annoying because it's a race so I don't trust it 100% but the previous r2206 got 2 good runs in a row but the r2208 failed also two times in a row. The only change there is cloud-init https://people.canonical.com/~mvo/core18-changes/html/edge/'20210928'r2206_'20210930'r2208.html which might explain why we see the failure in our integration tests in GCE but not inside QEMU. Unfortuantely the cloud-init diff is pretty big.
