[Bug 1076232] Re: Build with tracker support
wait...does that mean that mangelasakis' comment is incorrect? My impression from his comment is that this is fixed in newer versions. I tried switching to >3.6 but it was to much of a pain on 12.10. I'm gonna upgrade soon anyways, for now I will stick to my custom build. If the issue does still exist in gnome3-team's PPA then I definately agree that it should be fixed in nautilus, ideally with a runtime config option I think. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1076232 Title: Build with tracker support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1076232/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1089449] [NEW] nautilus 3.6 desktop image thumbnail resize blurry
Public bug reported: When I resize an image on the desktop larger, it becomes blurry because the thumbnail stretches. This was working properly not that long ago. [Bug 955579] [NEW] nautilus desktop freeze: EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop.
Public bug reported: Whenever focus enters or leaves my desktop (ie enter: click on desktop to focus on it, leave: click on different window to leave the desktop), the machine locks up for about 10-15 seconds, and Xorg process jumps to 100% during the lockup. After this I can interact with the desktop, except for right click still locks about for about 5 seconds each time. (X does not crash, it continues working after the crash) I use gnome3 and nautilus, fully updated ubuntu 11.10 x64. This consistently starts occuring after using the computer for about 10 minutes. Below is the output from Xorg.0.log. I have also attached the backtrace during the freeze from attaching gdb to X over ssh (its more interesting), and my xorg.conf (generated by nvidia-settings) My temporary workaround is to stop nautilus from handling the desktop, but I would really like to have it on. The stacktrace seems similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics- drivers-177/+bug/294941 I have tried both nvidia-current and nvidia-current-updates drivers with the same results. Desktop resolution is 2806x900, as seen in some of the arguments of the gdb output. (using Twinview) but it also occurs in single monitor mode. (maybe less often) [ 3257.068] [mi] EQ overflowing. When I press the power button or click shutdown in the user menu in Gnome 3, the dialog box pops up for a fraction of a second before the computer shuts down. At first it says something like "Waiting for apps to quit" and then "Powering off the system" Is this the same bug, or should I file a new bug report? [Bug 900501] Re: Video import in Shotwell creates wrong date
this happens for me with videos as well, .avi from a "KODAK EASYSHARE C183", and also with videos created from video editors. The only problem with using Shotwell to change the video date is that i don't think it saves to the file, so it is still incorrect when viewed in another application/OS. One possible fix to this problem in general is to use the file modification time as a fallback, this would resolve the issue for me. This is already reported as a possible fix for images at http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/3300 I think it should go for videos as well (as a default off option of course) I will post at that bug. In Windows Explorer/Live Photo Gallery, the date column automatically uses the modification date as a backup as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/900501 Title: Video import in Shotwell creates wrong date To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/shotwell/+bug/900501/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 879130] Re: invalid read (segfault) on duplicate lines in .hidden
I decided to keep looking at this since I had already started. Just to be clear, the work around of removing duplicates from .hidden works fine to fix this. But here's what I found in the code (caution: I'm new to programming with linux, feel free to correct me) -The crash occurs because the GHashTable has a key_destroy_func and g_hash_table_insert_node() is called with keep_new_key = false instead of true in ghash.c -In order to fix this, g_hash_table_replace() should be used instead of g_hash_table_insert() in read_dot_hidden_file() in nautilus-directory-async.c. I ran nautilus with this change and it didn't crash anymore. -I did a quick search to see if this situation happens anywhere else in Nautilus, the only spot I found is at nautilus-view.c:3315, but I'm not sure if that's an issue or not. -If I am correct, it seems strange that the comments in ghash.c for using GHashTable as a set indicate that g_hash_table_insert should be used, when it actually causes this issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879130 Title: invalid read (segfault) on duplicate lines in .hidden To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/879130/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 879130] Re: nautilus crashes when browsing folders on 11.10 with SIGABRT in raise()
turns out this actually happens when there is a duplicate entry in the .hidden file. it has nothing to do with ntfs drives. (i happened to browse a folder with the problem on both of my machines) I am not sure if this is worth fixing or not, most people will not run into it much. [Bug 761409] Re: Cannot click on left-most indicator on panel if a systray icon appears
the updated ppa fixes the problem for me. there is an issue where a very rapid triple-click on the indicator icon when there is a program maximized sometimes results in the indicator's menu going under the window. (actually, I've only reproduced this with firefox) I think i also saw it go under the desktop background when there were no programs open. But it was intermittant and I checked after using ppa-purge to remove the ppa and it still happened, so i think the ppa is fine. its something you would really only notice if you testing out the indicator icons :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/761409 Title: Cannot click on left-most indicator on panel if a systray icon appears To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/761409/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 779638] Re: Ubuntu 11.04. Unity-desktop upper bar menu, has some bugs with ASUS Geforce GT220 video card
I can confirm the same behavior. My systray is set to 'all' as well, and the farthest left indicator icon is unclickable when there is 1 systray icon open. (doesn't matter which systray icon or indicator icon it is, it is always the farthest left indicator icon) If I have 2 systray icons open, then the farthest left indicator icon seems to work intermittently. felix, does changing the number of systray icons open change any behavior for you? Note that if I have it set to 'all' but no systray icons open, everything is fine. hopefully this helps to narrow down this bug! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/779638 Title: Ubuntu 11.04. yes this happens to me all the time!
