[Bug 771716] Re: middle click emulation not working
Here is the requested file. (It was taken on Maverick, but I hope it is ok.) Are there any drawback for enabling middle click emulation by default? I have an external keyboard and mouse attached to the laptop. The touchpad from the laptop has only 2 buttons. In Natty, pressing the 2 touchpad buttons in the same time triggers the middle click event. Pressing the 2 buttons from the external mouse does not trigger the event. [Bug 771713] [NEW] Image on external monitor is broken when only the external monitor is enabled
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel I have this strange regression in Natty. Everything was fine in Maverick. I have an intel core i3 CPU with the default video card. [Bug 713983] [NEW] Menu shortcuts can not be edited using all key combinations
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: indicator-application The is a strange behavior in appmenu. I have enabled the editable menu shortcut keys in GNOME. When using the appmenu applet in GNOME, I can delete a menu shortcut using „backspace” but then I can not add a Ctrl+KEY combination or assign a function key. It looks like the Help - Contents menu entries is always displayed as having F1 as the key shortcut even though I have disabled it Trying to press Backspace over Help-Contents does not remove F1 from the UI. (shortcut is in fact disabled). Also when removing the appmenu applet and adding it again it seems that the shortcut are somehow not updated... not sure what is happening there. [Bug 656517] Re: launcher should allow to start several instances of an application
Unfortunately, the Unity wiki page does not share to much information about various Unity components and I am not sure which part is exactly the Launcher From the point of view of this bug, i guess that the Launcher is the left side imitation of Mac OS X Dock. If I click the Ubuntu logo, and then I type terminal in the search field and then I wait 30 second... I can click on the 'Terminal' icon and it will open a new terminal each time I click it. First I was thinking that this is The launcher The always visible, left side launcher, looks to me much more than a launcher since it is also a task manager, trash manager and volume manager. -- Getting back to the bug report. Since the always visible, left side toolbar is somehow following the Mac OS X Dock behavior, I was thinking that maybe applications could provide a hint whether they are single or multiple instances. A right click on the the launcher will show a New instance option in the menu. For example having multiple instances of Ubuntu software center is not of much use and could only confuse the users. [Bug 533269] Re: External display not working
I don't know how to better describe this bug. The external monitor is just not working. It is enabled in gnome-display-properties but the external monitor is still not receiving any signal and remains in standby. Since this is a hardware specific problem you will need an ATI x300 card to reproduce it. Since Hardy, where everthing was perfect, the video support for this card got worse with each release so maybe Lucid is not supposed to be running on this computer and I should stop my upgrades at Karmic where I can get 1024x768 or use Hardy where I can use the full 1600x1050 resolution. I have attached a screenshot of gnome-display-properties.
