[Bug 573550] Re: ati radeon xpress 200M no s-video output, no tv screen detected

2010-09-14 Thread Alex Lopez
I am running an ati mobility radeon x700 (rv400).
I finally get svideo output detected setting kms parameter at boot:
video=SVIDEO-1:e
This enables tv out correctly, I can set up modes through xrandr but i
cannot get image correctly, just b&n flashing image...
The cable is should be ok, because it works on win7. ¿or could be any reason
Please check that setting at boot and let us know if it works.
¿any ideas why I get that screen? none modes work: ntsc, pal, all types
tested...

Regards.

[Bug 264784] [NEW] linux-image-2.6.27 Intel 82801 audio noisy playback

2008-09-04 Thread Alex Lopez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-2-generic

Hi.

I wish to inform a regerssion in this version kernel with audio controller. I
am running an Acer 5930g laptop. Kernel 2.6.24 works fine with audio, anyway I
upgraded to 2.6.27 to make intel wireless 5100 to work, but now audio
controller plays "noisy" if using alsa (as many applications). Only using
ALC888 partially solves the problem.
I attach required logs.

[Bug 223443] Re: hangs due to repeated gettimeofday calls

2008-06-02 Thread Alex Lopez
Hi.
This is my first time working with backtrace. If you can point me to
instructions about getting debugging symbols I will be pleased to follow them.
I suppose I must install pidgin-dbg package for symbols. And then? Do I try an
strace like before? Should I use gdb howto instead?
Thanks.

Hi. Looks we have been lucky today :-)

I was able to trace the second situation.
A huge amount of pidgin processes running. CPU and memory at full load.
I was scrolling a text document on open office when it begun.

[Bug 223443] Re: Pidgin eats up 100% cpu

2008-05-30 Thread Alex Lopez
Hi.

I attache here the log of strace during a cpu overload with pidging.
In this case it did not took all memory also and only one pidgin process was
running.
Sometimes happends it gets 100% memory/cache usage apart from 100% cpu, with a
lot of pidging processes and it is just imposible for me to kill them with any
signal. Maybe I can take a trace of this in the future.

Thanks.

2008-05-22 Thread Alex Lopez
Hello.

I can confirm this problem also, but I have not been able to reproduce
the problem at all.

All I can say:
- I am doing nothing whith pidgin when it takes all cpu, just connected with
guinotifications. No chat window open.
- I check with top and see about twelve pidgin processes, killing one of them
closes all others.
- Just running firefox...

Thanks.

[Bug 164580] Re: Totem low streaming performance when accesing smb shares

2008-03-13 Thread Alex Lopez
Hi.

I'm very sorry. I forgot to update this issue.
I had the same problem in similar scenario. Looks like a proble with samba
server, not totem.
Anyway, with a gutsy server run correctly.
Maybe is some missconfiguration and not a package problem. I am not sure.

Best regards.

[Bug 164580] Re: Totem low streaming performance when accesing smb shares

2007-11-23 Thread Alex Lopez
Hi!

I am also testing over a samba share on a feisty server.
I have the same problem either with my gutsy amd64 laptop over wireless or with
a gutsy i386 wired desktop.

I will try to check if a connection between the desktops gives the same
results.

Thanks

[Bug 164580] Totem low streaming performance when accesing smb shares

2007-11-22 Thread Alex Lopez
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

I am using Gutsy amd64.
With this version totems succeds to play smb networked media, but performances
is poor and video playback is horrible (stops playing for buffering, etc).
If I mount the smb share through mount smbfs, video plays correctly, so I
discard any network related problem.

This happends both, using gstreamer or xine.

[Bug 85557] Re: AIXGL ATI Mobility Radeon X700 freezes with glxgears, glxinfo reports no rendering, radeon driver used

2007-02-23 Thread Alex Lopez
Hi.
I tested that performance problem happends either i386 and amd64 live CDs. I
found this post: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-295052.html,
regarding problems with problem fixed on 7.2 xorg version. Anyway I am running
amd64 and testing package is only available for i386.
Do you know if there will be an available package for amd64?

Timo, regarding your comment about ATI model autodetection, I my case
works fine. I have got "ati" on xorg.conf, but radeon is loaded
properly.

Best regards.

[Bug 85557] Re: AIXGL ATI Mobility Radeon X700 freezes with glxgears, glxinfo reports no rendering, radeon driver used

2007-02-21 Thread Alex Lopez
Hi.
Debugging on glxinfo showed a problem of file r300dri.so missing on the
specified path. So then, I just located the file a copied to the correct
location: cp /usr/lib/dri/r300_dri.so /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/
Now glxinfo shows direct rendering yes. Great! but... if I run glxgears CPU
goes 100%. Also beryl will produce heavy load.
I will check more testing with xorg.conf.
Anyway, I attache xorg.log if gives any clue.

Thanks for the help.

[Bug 85557] Re: AIXGL ATI Mobility Radeon X700 freezes with glxgears, glxinfo reports no rendering, radeon driver used

2007-02-16 Thread Alex Lopez
Hi Laurent, thanks for the help.
I attache the glxinfo output, but looks nothing relevant.
I know radeon driver is experimental, but, cannot run xgl on feisty due ATI
propietary does not support composite in last releases (8.33 I think).
So, for now, only AIGLX is possible.
I have tested with liveCD, running same config, ndiswrapper with no acpi
problems, radeon driver, beryl running, and runs incredibly well, much
better with kernel 2.6.20, thats why I wanted to check that.
I am pretty sure is a problem with fglrx package removal. When I removed it,
aptitude crashed with the purge.
I removed all /usr/lib/liGL*.so so.1 etc... and reinstalled all libgl mesa
packages... but... nothing solved.
I wonder what I am missing. That why I suspect is somthing related with the
8.33 xorg-driver-fglrx package...

Any ideas?

[Bug 85557] Re: AIXGL ATI Mobility Radeon X700 freezes with glxgears, glxinfo reports no rendering, radeon driver used

2007-02-16 Thread Alex Lopez
Pretty sure. xorg-fglrx package, restricted modules, and also an entry in
/etc/profiles refered to fglrx (sorry don't remember exactly, I read it
somewhere)
Attach kernel.log if it helps:

[Bug 85557] AIXGL ATI Mobility Radeon X700 freezes with glxgears, glxinfo reports no rendering, radeon driver used

2007-02-16 Thread Alex Lopez
Public bug reported:

LiveCD reports rendering yes on glxinfo and glxgears works fine.
When I upgraded to Feisty, it was using fglx driver. I followed instructions to
completely remove fglrx drivers, and using AIGLX instead.
When running glxinfo it shows:
name of display: :0.0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: No
server glx vendor string: SGI
server glx version string: 1.2

glxgears will crash the system.
