[Bug 1534798] Re: lxsession-logout doest not always work
I understand Daro is trying to help but I am having a bit of trouble with what he is reporting and might have seen two ways to interpret this which might be causing confusion and preventing this from being fixed. Misinterpreting bug reports is frustrating for the triagers as well. 1. can only get one lxsession-logout window open? Because I can open an lxsession logout window switch to another virtual workspace and then continue using everything but can't open up another lxsessoin logout instance then. The upstream gtk2 lxde has been adding these behind the scense as having two windows open like this would end up using more memory which is a problem on older hardware. I read through the changelog of lxsession and I get that it now requires a library for making unique applications. This I think might be close to the intended behavior as you are not supposed to be able to launch more than one as it would take much ram on a lot of the older systems and does running two logout dialgos serve any practical purpose other than just messing around. Making this not a singleton application would however make more ram hungry and if it caused the computers to swap and run slowly which is part of the reason lxde got developed. 2. Do you try to launch lxsession-logout once and say logout or switch user log back in again and then can't logout. If so that is a more serious problem. And would definetly be a bug that needs to be fixed. ** Changed in: lxsession (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1534798 Title: lxsession-logout doest not always work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxsession/+bug/1534798/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1553401] [NEW] manpage for ubiquity claims escalate privileges for itself using gksudo, kdesu, kdesudo, or sudo but recent versions escalte privlege with policykit
Public bug reported: To reproduce read the manpage for ubiquity and in the second sentence for description I read It is normally invoked from a desktop icon, and presents a "wizard"-style graphical user interface. ubiquity must be run as root, and will escalate privileges for itself using gksudo, kdesu, kdesudo, or sudo as appropriate. Then since lxqt-sudo is a new way to run GUI programs as root for lxqt in the archives since 16.04 and planned to be shipped with lubuntu 16.10 if ubiquity would need changes to use this. I ended up coming to the conclusion this information is outdated after a long search through the ubiquity code base that this one mention seemed to be left in even though ubiquity uses policykit now so future lubuntu isos need only to have policykit working which could be nicer but if this was in the manpage I could have improved ubuntu in other ways than looking through ubiquity source to try to see if lxqt- sudo could be added. This could be a simple fix but other parts of the manpage might need to be updated as well. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Public bug reported: to reproduce boot the dialy iso of lubuntu xenial from Feburary 28th or later and boot into a live session or a new install. Note dist upgrading on a previous install will not work as config files in your home folder for an already existing user will use that wallpaper as that is intended behavior but that is not what is broken. These images have lubuntu-artwork: Installed: 0.60 Candidate: 0.60 Version table: *** 0.60 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status on these iso and boots to a black backgruodn when on fresh install or a new install. I expected the last stable release wallpaper to appear at least until the wallpaepr for 16;04 was ready and put in the correct way to start in live session as I like the team work but don't want to miss them by default. Instead I got a black wallpaper instead when I booted the live session. pcmanfm is loading the desktop backgroudn with the lubuntu desktop so it is not pcmanfm part but rather maybe the file it is poining to. [Bug 1548016] [NEW] pcmanfm right click empty space shows broken inversert selection in context menu

[Bug 1504468] Re: compile error
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1515521] [NEW] during manual paritioning hitting cancel for physical volume for encrption does not allow you to press the install now button.
Public bug reported: To reproduce install with manual partition create a new parition table then create an xfs or ext4 / parition and a swap partition leaving some free space and a drive to install the bootloader on. The install now button shuld be eithere to be selected or clicked with the keyboard Then in this free space click the plus button icon on ubuntu mate to add a new partition and select physical volume for encrpytion. Read warning about data loss. Click the cancel button. Try to select the install now button after executing this and the user cannot. even though the paritioning setup would install a valid paritioning setup. [Bug 1512963] [NEW] settings allow arbitarly large user pictures which makes the user lock themselves out at lightdm.
Public bug reported: To reproduce on a fresh install of ubuntu mate 16.04 start lightdm-gtk- greeter-settings and authenticate to start editing lightdm settings. Please do not try to reproduce this on a production machine as it will involve locking yourself out of lightdm. In the settings for lightdm GTK+ greeter settings select a really large image from a digial camera or high resolution screenshot as your user image that is larger than your screen resolution hit save and then log out. You will be taken to a lightdm screen that has a user image so large you cannot login. Public bug reported: To reproduce install juffed and open juffed without selecting to open a file. Enter the text "hello world " into juffed. I expected hello world to show as text in the empty text file. If you save it shows the text is entered but being able to see the text as you type it is quite nice. juffed: Installed: 0.9.1137-1ubuntu6 Candidate: 0.9.1137-1ubuntu6 Version table: *** 0.9.1137-1ubuntu6 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Description:Ubuntu Wily Werewolf (development branch) Release:15.10 I expected as I typed hello world into a blank file to see the text hello world on the screen. Instead juffed takes the input but you cannot see it on the screen. [Bug 1469362] Re: Desktop Switching is Allowed in the Installer [Lubuntu 14.04.2 LTS]
This is not dealing with the part of lubuntu thatis the port to lxqt but rather the defualt settings when choosing install. I get this with the regular lxde version. ** Project changed: lubuntu-next => lubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: lubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1469362 Title: Desktop Switching is Allowed in the Installer [Lubuntu 14.04.2 LTS] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lubuntu-default-settings/+bug/1469362/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1469362] Re: Desktop Switching is Allowed in the Installer [Lubuntu 14.04.2 LTS]
** Description changed: + To reproduce boot a lubuntu desktop installer and select in Install lubuntu on the menu. Then press a keyboard shortcut to switch to another workspace which are documented on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/Keyboard but the user has no ui to switch back to the installer other than keyboard shortcuts or mouse middle click over desktop. If we launch install from the menu with one desktop or launch ubiquity so that it shows up on all desktop which can be done in the opebox configuration file this could not lead to users with no buttons and a blank desktop. + Sorry for posting in the wrong place. I installed Lubuntu 14.04.2 from a USB flash drive. I skipped the "try Lubuntu" option and went straight into the install process. After I set everything up (wipe everything, 315 GB for the main mount point and 4 GB for swap area), I let the computer idle. This was after I picked my username and timezone and so on. It continued the install for about five minutes, then turned off the display as a kind of power saving feature. (It was on a laptop, but the laptop was plugged in.) When I came back to check on it, I mashed a few keyboard buttons to wake up the PC and activate the display again. This included some of the arrow keys. Somehow I pressed a combination for switching the visible desktop, because I then saw a window saying I was now on desktop 3. That small window closed soon after, and I was left with just a mouse cursor with the "loading" mouse cursor animation. When the install was finished, Lubuntu popped up a window on desktop 3 (or wherever I was) and told me to restart. So the install still completed normally. But I wonder if it's possible to use that same key combination and ruin your chances of a successful install. What if you do it while Lubuntu still needs to ask you questions? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1469362 Title: Desktop Switching is Allowed in the Installer [Lubuntu 14.04.2 LTS] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lubuntu-default-settings/+bug/1469362/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
