[Bug 530195] Re: gwibber tries to call has_key on list---twitter doesnot work
I think everyone has varying degrees of this same problem. I've used OpenDNS from the beginning and could add/post all my accounts, it's just that my specific problem is the viewing of my twitter stream, which, I cannot do at all other then the posts I make. Should we start splitting up the bugs based on our particular problems? [Bug 580703] Re: Changing Auto Download to New results in downloading all videos
Any and all my feeds respond this way and yes it is reproducible with all of them. It's not really a bug in that it's unexpected behavior, but more behavior that is correct but should be changed to something else. The core of what I'm talking about is the addition of a setting threshold that: 1) when the number of unwatched videos exceeds it, results in Miro not downloading all new videos in the feed but instead only downloads new videos that come up in the feed in the future and 2) when the number of unwatched videos is below the threshold, results in Miro doing what it does now and try to download all videos in the feed that have not been watched/downloaded yet. -- Changing Auto Download to New results in downloading all videos https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/580703 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 580703] [NEW] Changing Auto Download to New results in downloading all videos
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: miro Ubuntu Lucid x86_64 on 2.6.32-21-generic using Miro 3.0.1 This is a bit of a feature request I guess and I'm not sure where to post this but will happily move it where it's appropriate if given instruction. When I change the Auto Download to New after a period of being Off and gathering videos in the stream, Miro wants to download the entire list of videos in a behavior similar to Auto Download All. Now what it's actually doing is downloading videos from the last time I actually viewed a file (or if I never have, download all files from the beginning), but after months of not watching anything in the stream, I just wanted to start downloading files from this point in time forward, not all the ones that I missed. Should there be a threshold of time in the preferences that allows for that behavior to change from the Download everything I missed behavior to Skip what I missed and download everything new from this point forward behavior? Steps to reproduce: 1)Subscribe to feed with Auto Download = Off 2)Loose interest in that feed and don't watch anything in there for a while 3)Wait until you get ~100 entries, regain interest, and want to watch the feed again from this point forward 4)Change Auto Download = New in said feed 5)Play download cancellation whack-a-mole for the entire list of 100 when all you wanted was that first video Expected behavior: 1-4 Same as above 5)Setting in preferences sees that the number of unwatched downloads exceeds users threshold and nothing downloads until a new video pops up on the feed in the future. 6)For that one video the user wants to watch, he/she just clicks to download it ** Affects: miro (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: -- Changing Auto Download to New results in downloading all videos https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/580703 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 550824] Re: Once status is set to offline the me menu becomes disabled so can't be used to go online
Ubuntu Lucid: Only half social from the start! I have this problem too and think it is a serious break in the usability. I'm not sure this is a bug but more of a missing feature. The first thing I did when I upgrade to Lucid, was click that menu, setup my accounts, and try to set status to available only to be disappointed. You can sign off but not back on? Doesn't make sense to me at least. And when a chat client is not loaded, the menu doesn't automatically boot one up? (conversation for a different bug I know, can someone point me to it?) Preferred behavior: -When a chat client is running and user clicks offline, the chat client goes offline and status options in the me-menu remain active and clickable -When user clicks any of those status options, the client then goes in that state -I don't think there should ever be a time when the options are greyed out except for when no accounts are setup in the preferences because at any point, if a user clicks one of those status options, the me-menu should make it so and open up any and all clients it needs to and set their statuses to what the user just selected. -- Once status is set to offline the me menu becomes disabled so can't be used to go online https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550824 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 267635] Re: Moving item changes focus when it shouldn't
Confirmed still for Karmic, and I remember there being ctrl or shift clicks that supposedly will move icons instead of copy them, but every drag and drop action still just copies the menu item instead of moving it. So here are all the extra steps that go into moving 2 menu entries: 1) click icon and drag to new folder 2) navigate back to source folder 3) delete old icon 4) click second icon and drag to new folder 5) navigate back to source folder 6) delete old icon and it should be: (move instead of copy by DEFAULT, who has multiple entries of stuff in their menu? no one, people want to move not copy stuff) 1) click icon and drag to new folder 2) click second icon and drag to new folder 3) get beer -- Moving item changes focus when it shouldn't https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267635 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 272985] [NEW] CD ejection in between burn and integrity check unnesesary
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: brasero brasero 0.7.1 Ubuntu hardy 8.04 x86-64 2.6.24-19 I feel as if the ejection of the cd after a successful burn should be skipped if it is to be followed by a data integrity test. I don't quite see where the test is optional. Enabling the plugin technically should just allow it while not making it mandatory. So I think what should happen is the addition of a dialog that pops up after a successful burn asking whether one would like to eject the cd or perform the data integrity test. While that integrity test is happening as well, no where in the burning dialog does it have the words data or integrity or test or checksum. At first glance, you still think its burning. [Bug 271421] [NEW] Parent process should show child process totals
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy 2.6.24-18-generic Gnome 2.22.3 When using the System monitor, I feel that all parent processes, when collapsed, should give the totals of itself and it's child processes for all fields (cpu, memory etc.). This could help clean up the window a little bit for people who like to have all dependencies and all processes for all users on there at once. Once that parent is opened, then it can revert back to displaying it's own totals and the child processes can do the same (unless of course, it is a parent for other children). This should be default behavior in my opinion, but at least the addition of an option somewhere would be great. I think it would make much more sense to be able to get totals for gdm and xorg and other conglomerate processes as giant entities instead of having to open up all the little sub processes to get an idea of whats eating up my cpu. ** Affects: gnome-system-monitor (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Parent process should show child process totals https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/271421 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 112535] Re: Alsa fails to detect my audio card
Ubuntu Hardy (Development Branch) 8.04 I think I have the same problem. I have an ASUS M51Sn-X2 laptop. My model only has one sound card so I fail to get even the headphone jack to work. My lspci gives me this: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) which is the same breed of sound card (one generation apart). I would like to point out however that the ALSA page doesn't formally support my card (ICH8 family http://www.alsa- project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Vendor-Intel ) and I'm sure that a year ago (the original post date) that might have been the same problem Thomas had. Also digging around the alsa driver source code, it mentions that the supported sound cards are ID: Intel i810/i820/i830/i840/MX440 which is neither ICH7 or ICH8 and which corresponds to the ALSA site. And again, under CARDS-STATUS it says: __ - snd-intel8x0 Intel 82801AA:jk Intel 82901AB Intel MX440 ___ which would again, imply that the cards are in the works. Another cause could be from digging around the same source, under supported kernels: __ The alsa-drivers in this package are designed for the following kernels: - Vanilla 2.6.23 or earlier - Vanilla 2.4.31 or earlier - Vanilla 2.2.26 or earlier It's not guaranteed that they work with any newer version than above or modified kernels by distributors. __ I'm running on 2.6.24-15. I would like to point out that this doesn't happen when I tell it to index only my home folder. My hunch is that its getting stuck on permission problems as it tries to open up and read the files owned by root throughout the drive. Is there ignore error code in the code somewhere?.
