[Bug 774349] [NEW] Natty 11.04 64bit Live CD won't boot

2011-04-30 Thread Carlos Lerzundy
Public bug reported:

I am not sure how to get the package information for this bug but I
cannot but from the Live CD 64b of Ubuntu 11.04.

The first thing showing is an Error: prefix not set and the the grub
loads (text mode). No splash screen.

After selecting either Try Ubuntu or Install, I can see the CD being
read by the system but everything stops suddenly and all I get is a
blank screen. Keyboard is frozen. Only way exit this stage is by a hard
reset of the system.

Please advice how could I provide more details for this issue.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

[Bug 468701] Re: Cups on Ubuntu Karmic does not recognize USB printer

2010-05-03 Thread Carlos Lerzundy
Hi Till,
Thanks for your quick response.

I have to mention that this printer was working fine with ubuntu 9.04.
It stopped working when I did a fresh install on ubuntu 9.10 and I was
hoping that ubuntu 10.04 will be able to use the printer.

Is there a workaround for my problem?

[Bug 574732] [NEW] GRUB2 does not boot windows7 when installed in a different hard drive

2010-05-03 Thread Carlos Lerzundy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

For some reasons I cannot successfully boot windows 7 from GRUB2. The
following entry was added in 40_custom and ran update-grub.

40_custom:
menuentry Microsoft Windows 7 TEST {
insmod ntfs
set root=(hd1,0)
search --no-floppy --fs-uuid --set A4AC0BADAC0B78D6
drivemap -s (hd0) ${root}
chainloader +1
}

The scenario is this:
- Both hard drives are SATA.
- Ubuntu is installed on SATA0 mobo port and is being detected by gparted in sda
- Win7 is installed on SATA1 mobo port and is being detected by gparted in sdb
- When running update-grub, no errors are being reported and I can see that
win7 got detected.
- Finally, when choosing win7 from the grub2 list... the system appears to
start but freezes when trying to load windows.

If I disconnect the SATA0 hard disk (Ubuntu) and turn on my computer...
windows 7 loads without any problems.

2009-11-02 Thread Carlos Lerzundy
Folks, here is an update that I got from from the Bug that I also logged
on their side:

--
[STR Closed w/o Resolution]

Please contact your Linux distributor for this issue.

CUPS 1.4 includes a new libusb-based USB backend (specifically requested
by the Linux distros) that requires the distributions to update their USB
configuration so that a) they don't have the kernel printer driver
installed and b) the permissions on the USB bus files allows the lp user
or sys group to read and write them.

Link: http://www.cups.org/str.php?L3404
Version: 1.4.1
Fix Version: Third-party
--

Looks like Ubuntu Dev team needs to update the USB config. Please any
comments on this from Ubuntu?

Thanks in advance and keep up the good work guys!

[Bug 463378] Re: OpenOffice Calc freezes when opening certain .ods files

2009-10-30 Thread Carlos Lerzundy
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply.

I have an update that may allow you to replicate the issue. I noticed
that one of the sheets had on a cell a small mark that when I click on
it, a gray Anchor icon appears. After deleting this Anchor I was
able to open the file in Karmic without any issues.

I am wondering what does this Anchor means thought.

Does this help?

[Bug 384255] [NEW] Ubuntu Jaunty 64bit - USB network adapter WUSB54GS

2009-06-06 Thread Carlos Lerzundy
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 9.04 x86_64 is capable of detecting the Linksys Wireless-G USB
Network Adapter with Speed Booster Version 2.0 (MODLE: WUSB54GS v2.0) as
soon as you plug it in. Now, if ubuntu is re-started it will not take
the connection already established anymore. The workaround is to delete
the connection and create a new one manually again.

The steps to reproduce this error are:
a) Plug in you USB network adapter
b) Click on Connect to a Hidden Wireless Network option
c) Insert the network information and click Connect

After these procedure the connections is successfully entablished. Now:

d) Re-start your system

You'll notice that the connection cannot be longer established, even
though if you manually choose the one that you had created.

As far as packages goes, I do not know how to pull this information.
Please feel free to contact me if you need more information.

Kind Regards,
Carlos

[Bug 231679] Re: Have to restart firefox to view flash content

2009-03-04 Thread Carlos Lerzundy
Hi bigbal50,
When I said: For some unknown reasons I meant to say that it happen suddenly
without any logic explanation. This happened to me in the following websites:
www.youtube.com www.credicard.com.ve etc...

I happen to have the latest updates. It is not a constant behavior
though...

2009-02-21 Thread Carlos Lerzundy
I can also confirm this bug. I am using 8.10 64 bits on a i386 machine.
For some unknown reasons flash content stops working on firefox. The
only way I've found to make it work is by restarting the application.

a) Log in
b) Make sure you have a screen saver activated
c) Let the system idle for at least 1 hour.
d) When you come back you should notice that your session was ended and you
will have to log in again.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any more information.

[Bug 281898] Re: quick search doesn't find all packages

2009-02-06 Thread Carlos Lerzundy
I had the issue posted in the first messager from this bug. After doing
update-apt-xapian-index I was able to find the skype package using the
Quick Search feature. I suggest that after adding a new PPA the system
should run this command (update-apt-xapian-index) immediately after the
addition.
