[Bug 1310196] Re: Chromium shows "a" overlay over its menu button

2014-04-22 Thread DanWei
Also have the same problem on 14.04. And with its current development-
version chrome seems to miss some of my keystrokes. If I enter text,
nearly every second letter gets lost (in url-bar and in websites). Does
not happen in any other text input other than chrome.

[Bug 435090] Re: Kubuntu: Not possible to select only one file in dolphin without opening

2009-11-30 Thread DanWei
> Hit the "plus" button on each icon

Yes, this is one option, but:
 * It is not the same, as there could be other files selected (out of
scroll-view) and you cant be sure, that you have only selected that one file.
 * A lot of area (everything right of the name, in detailed view) is unused (or
not effectively used) place.
 * Very small target-area, if you miss it, you accidentally start/open that
file.

So I think this paper-cut is not Invalid - and for a programmer with
some experience it should not make much work/time to implement this.

[Bug 118994] Re: [ooo-build] [hardy] Zoom-Dropdown does not work properly with mousewheel

2008-11-29 Thread DanWei
This bug is still present in the latest 2.4 in ubuntu 8.10 and also in
the 3.0-release directly installed from OO.org.

As it also affects other controls (font size/name,etc) I have placed a new
Issue at the official OO.org tracker:
--> http://de.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=96707

How can this be added as a "Remote bug watch"?

TIA

[Bug 291219] [NEW] [8.10] KDE does not remember resolution after restart (in VMware)

2008-10-30 Thread DanWei
Public bug reported:

Fresh Kubuntu 8.10 installation in VmWare 6.5.0.

Per default it starts up with 800x600 - if i change it in KDE-
Settings->Resolution, everything works as expected. After Restart it
falls back to 800x600. BUT as soon as i open (but dont change anything)
the Settings-Dialog it loads the previously saved values and goes also
changes the actual resolution (without pressing apply or okay). But
after Restart, it goes back to 800x600 again.

Same thing happens after installation of "open-vm-tools" (which, I
think, actually does not work, but thats a other problem)

Second problem, but what may have the same cause: after the resolution
get changed, the Shutdown/Logoff/...-Dialog looks as the attached
picture (also in VmWare).

OS:
KDE 4.1 (from fresh installed Kubuntu 8.10)

sincerly
Daniel

[Bug 148872] Re: Accent are not displayed on external disks automatically mounted with ntfs-3g

2008-10-01 Thread DanWei
This problem is still recent on hardy. I have seen this behaviour on two
different PCs when an external drive with NTFS is attached.

Folders or files containing Umlauts (äöü) are simply not shown. I was
already starting testdisk to try to recover the files, bec. I thought
the filesystem got somehow corrupted.

I dont know if this bug is still in interpid - if so it should be marked
as critical... I think that could be a big and bad surprise for many
users.

[Bug 274110] [NEW] Plasmoid "filewatcher" SIGSEV'ed after moving

2008-09-24 Thread DanWei
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-plasma

The "file-watcher"-plasmoid crashed (and so the whole plasma crashes)
after first drag&drop-move (change position of the plasmoid) after
setting a file (/var/log/syslog in my case)

Steps to reproduce:
* Add new plasmoid -> drag&drop Filewatcher onto desktop
* click configure
* enter /var/log/syslog as file
* [apply]
First bug appears here: the text reaches out of the plasmoid (ie. lines not
wraped, will attach screenshot)
* Try to change the position of the plasmoid -> crash, plasma will restart,
plasmoid is gone.

Same problem/error message here. But not with all external drives. (Also
KDE, Konqueror as default filemanager)

Some USB-harddisks just mount fine (automatical and with pmount) and
other fail with automount but are working with pmount. It seems to me as
USB-Flashdrives are always working (automatical and pmount).

How is HAL decideing which is an removable and which not?

[Bug 118994] Zoom-Dropdown does not work properly with mousewheel

2007-06-06 Thread DanWei
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org2

I previously reported a bug at the OpenOffice Bugtracker (link:
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=77004 ), but they told
me, that this is ubuntuspecific, so ill post here:

On the default-toolbar is a dropdown list. where you can select the zoomlevel
of the current workspace. If you click on it and selecte a value from the list,
everything works as expected.
BUT: if you place the mouse over it and wheelup or wheeldown, the value changes
(as expected) but the workspace does not update its zoomlevel.

A screenshot and a short movie is included in the bugreport on the
openoffice site (link above).

My Sytem: Ubuntu Feisty, KDE 3.5.7, OpenOffice 2.2.0-1ubuntu3

[Bug 98751] Re: feisty beta fails to mount hard drives

2007-06-01 Thread DanWei
I have this (imho it is immanent at all, nor?) bug too - and its very
annoying.

I can not mount internal drives via the "media:/"-kio, which was pre
feisty possible (and really cool).

I also get the same error message, if i want to mount external drives -
but not always. Dont know, on which aspects this is depending...

Error message: "hal-storage-fixed-mount refused uid 1000" (uid 1000 is
of course my user)

now i always have to enter "pmount /dev/..." myself - not very good publicy for
kubuntu, if i show it to someone and have to go to a konsole to just get access
to a USB stick... :/
In my point of view, this bug is a really annoying showstopper.

Looking forward for a fix - should not be hard, as it worked in all other
versions pre feisty.
TIA; Daniel

[Bug 105623] Re: udev rules missing from udeb

2007-04-19 Thread DanWei
Same problem here, if I want to Install Feisty 7.04 with -alternative.

i switched to a console and invoked the lvcreate manually - the command
stoped (with no cpu activity and no hdd act.) for about 1...2min, than
the error message ("Rendezvous with udev timed out for 'main-home'; stat
failed: No such file or directory" as stated above) poped up.

After that, the partitioning step found the LVM-drives correctly and
setup continued as normal.

Before i was patient enough, too wait for the timeout, i killes (kill
-s9) the lvcreate, and a lvs (resp. a lvdisplay) displayed everyting
correct, and i thought it worked fine. But in this case, the partman
didnt list the LVM-drives

pls get it fixed
