There is not any crash, really that last problem I saw changing skin, is different than I initially reported. I think this issue can be solved for amsn 0.97.2 (including version from Ubuntu packages) and also 0.98b from svn. To avoid these problems there is to ensure that skin folders in /usr/share/amsn/skins have at least 755 permission mode. And also I had to remove $HOME/.amsn folder to fix the last problem. After doing these steps, now amsn 0.97.2 from Ubuntu packages works well and change skin, and also for 0.98b-svn version. I think the initial report (with crash) was produced by wrong permissions in skin folders in /usr/share/amsn/skins. Setting them to 755 mode fixed the problem. Unfortunately, I don't know how to reproduce now the initial case of my second post in which amsn couldn't change skin without crash, having 777 permission mode in skins folders. I am now testing the latest Kubuntu development release: "Intrepid ibex", which comes with KDE 4.1.0 by the moment. Current Konqueror version is 4:4.1.0-0ubuntu2. At this point of development, Konqueror present multiple problems browsing Gmail webmail, including the issue I originally reported here. I think most of this issues should be fixed soon by upstream. Public bug reported: Since I use nautilus 2.22.3-0ubuntu2, it freezes or works too slow browsing folders (it waste more than 15 seconds for response to the mouse), but usually , it ends freezing. Steps to reproduce the issue: 1) I open nautilus clicking on my home folder icon. 2) I select some folders. 3) Nautilus take too time in responding, and finally it usually freezes. When I try to close the window, Gnome says that program is not responding and if I want to terminate it. After that, a new nautilus window is opened automatically and it freezes again. Hi again, the suggested solution worked for me. Initially, i had an Ubuntu 8.04 LTS installed with fresh install from Live CD, in which this bug was not present. I copied the root partition / in to an image file using partimage, and when I restored the image from image file to disk partition, this usplash problem started to happen. Yes, i also had to install that package: "libasound2-plugins package" i forgot to say it. But after that it was necessary to do the steps i said: First I install packages: "asoundconf-gtk" and "libasound2-plugins". kmilo cause a crash. It happens when i press one of the multimedia keys: Calculator, Search, Mail, Home. Volume keys do not cause the crash. [Bug 195216] [NEW] Permission troubles copying file to NTFS
Public bug reported: Using Kubuntu Hardy Heron + KDE 3.5.9 Permissions on NTFS partitions are not well configured. Steps: 1) I install Kubuntu Hardy from Desktop CD. 2) During installation i choose manual partitioning and i configure a partition sdb1 to be used as NTFS and mounted on /media/datos. 3) Kubuntu is installed and running. 4) I create a file in my HOME directory. 5) I copy the created file and I paste it on a folder inside ntfs drive. What happens? A window is displayed with title "Information - D3lphin" that says: "Permissions of /home/rafael/Aplicaciones/jesuuss.txt could not be changed" I click on Ok button and i can check that the file has been copied. But think that if you copy one hundred files, you obtain one hundred windows with this warning. The fix of this is easy, it is necessary to review default parameters in /etc/fstab for ntfs partitions. KDE 3.5.9-0ubuntu1 System-config-printer-kde 0.05 My printer HP Deskjet 710c, supported by CUPS and HPLIP, is detected by Ubuntu 7.10, but not by Kubuntu Hardy. I think this new application System-config-printer-kde should configure it automatically, and report it via popup notification. In addiction if I manually open manager by these steeps: Menu K -> System -> Printing I cannot find a way to install my printer. I have installed a fresh Ubuntu Hardy Alpha 4 and I also have updated all its packages. I also have got Kubuntu Hardy installed since Alpha 3 up to date. In both this issue continues. I think this bug is different of bug #150930, because this is not fixed if I set right resolution in /etc/usplash.conf before running sudo dpkg-reconfigure usplash. Note that I am not reporting difference between X server and usplash resolution, i am reporting that usplash is flattened in LCD panoramic monitors, while the same configuration does not appear flattened in a CRT monitors or non panoramic monitors. I think this is because although I set xres=1440 and yres=900 in usplash, it really uses 1024x768, may be 1440x900 is not yet supported by usplash.
