[Bug 1090297] [NEW] MAAS View Documentation link points to unrelated version of docs
Public bug reported: Hi, in the MAAS Dashboard, there's a link View Documentation. This points to the upstream page: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ServerTeam/MAAS/. This offers a manual redirect to http://maas.ubuntu.com. This appears to be documentation from the current daily build, and will contain information that's probably not relevant to the installed version. Also, the documentation for any particular version, such as the one in Precise, appears to only be available by checking out the sources and building the documentation manually. It would be better if the docs for a particular version were installed with MAAS, and the documentation link would point to that version, stored locally. Alternatively, http://maas.ubuntu.com/ could host docs for all supported versions. [Bug 1089034] Re: bamfdaemon doesn't handle Xaw-based apps correctly
I played aorund with this a bit, and at least in the case of xeyes it's caused by a missing .desktop file: I can get predictable, normal behavior by doing the following: eric@host:~/Desktop$ cat EOF xeyes.desktop [Desktop Entry] Type=Application Name=Xeyes Comment=Eyeball Tycoon Exec=/usr/bin/xeyes Icon=object-inverse.svg Terminal=false Categories=Utility; EOF eric@host:~/Desktop$ xeyes It uses the specified icon, it can be locked to the launcher, and it can be re-launched from launcher normally. [Bug 878820] Re: Window Management, Keyboard shortcut - The grid keybindings are behaving inconsistently
I'll just +1 that this behavior is inconsistent and confusing. Ctrl+Alt+KP* works for everything but left and right, which are the most useful IMHO on widescreen monitors. Super+L/R would be fine, but Super+Arrow Key presses appear to be misdetected (LP#972330), bringing up the keyboard overlay after a few seconds. [Bug 820327] Re: Fn+F7 cycling gives external monitor incorrect resolution on Thinkpad x220
Hi, Bryce I can confirm that the monitor does work correctly in external-only mode under oneiric. However, cycling through the modes with Fn+F7 never results in the desktop being stretched across monitors ?? But that's another bug. [Bug 894071] Re: Mouse pointer doesn't move with two fingers pressed on bcm5974 touchpad
Trying to be clearer: Two-finger scrolling works fine, because it's not a button press, just a matter of lightly laying two fingers on the trackpad and moving them up and down. We're talking about a two-finger *click* here. When the trackpad is clicked with two fingers, the pointer stops moving as long as the button is down. [Bug 820327] Re: Fn+F7 cycling gives external monitor incorrect resolution on Thinkpad x220
Hi, More information about this issue: - still happening on an up-to-date Natty - Problem *does not occur* if gnome-display-properties is running at the time - The exact symptoms have changed a little, but still shows the same inability to properly set the external monitor - With gnome-display-properties running, cycling through modes with Fn+F7 looks like this (in order): ModeInternalExternal Spanning DesktopOn On Clone Mode On Broken Internal Only On Off External Only Off On Spanning (again)On Broken If gnome-display-properties is running, it works properly: ModeInternalExternal Spanning DesktopOn On Clone Mode On On Internal Only On Off External Only Off On Spanning (again)On on This is on a projector, which doesn't support many modes, so broken is basically black. When run on a fairly flexible external monitor, I noticed that the resolution/refresh as reported by xrandr does not match the actual resolution of the monitor. In the attached photo, you'll see output of xrandr (white on black) saying the monitor is 1920x1200@60Hz, but the monitor's status menu says it's running 1600x1200@60Hz. The GNOME desktop believes that the monitor is 1920 pixels wide, so even though there's a picture on the monitor, much of it is missing. [Bug 820327] [NEW] Fn+F7 cycling gives external monitor incorrect resolution on Thinkpad x220
Public bug reported: ## Issue Pressing Fn+F7 to cycle through monitor configuration produces unusable monitor configuration on external-monitor-only mode. External monitor is set to incorrect resolution when it's the only active display. xrandr output does not match resolution of external display that is actually set. E.g., xrandr shows 1920x1080@60Hz, but monitor status menu shows 1360 x 768 @ 60Hz, which it does not support. ## Environment - Thinkpad X220 (T61 also fails) - External monitor attached ## Steps to reproduce: - connect external monitor to ThinkPad X220 (or X61) - press Fn+F7 to cycle through modes - on External Monitor Only mode, compare resolution of external monitor as reported by xrandr and the monitor itself. [Bug 809076] [NEW] Need better error message when encountering a bad network name
Public bug reported: I've tried to add a Windows 7 shared printer using the Browse functionality. This browser correctly is able to determine all of the computers in the work group and correctly lists all of the shared printers on the remote Windows 7 host. However, the share name of the network printer contained spaces. This led to a frustrating error message Unable to connect to CIFS host..., which gave no indication of the real problem: the fact that the URI had be changed form XXX XXX 's XXX to XXX20XXX20XXX's20XXX, inserting 20 for spaces. As soon as I renamed remote printer's share name to something without spaces, the add process worked flawlessly. Had I not checked the URI after the browse functionality the third time trying to add this printer, I'd never have figured this out. Either warn on browsing that the shared printer's name is incompatible, add functionality to make it compatible, or warn afterwards with a better message. Public bug reported: - Windowed applications that are not in the foreground can be activated by clicking on their title bar. - Maximized applications have no titlebar - Clicking anywhere on the application window of a background application sends a mouse click event to the application - The amount of surface available to bring the application into focus without performing a (possibly unexpected) action is very small. [Bug 770046] [NEW] Swapping left alt + left win key prevents applications from using Alt key
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity Reproduction Steps: open gnome-keyboard-properties Layouts Options - Alt/Win key behaviour [o] Left Alt is swapped with Left Win Afterwards, in all applications the alt key is no longer accessible. Hi Macro, Macro wrote: Don't use automatix, it breaks Ubuntu... $ sudo apt-get --purge remove automatix I tried the above command line, however it did not remove automatix. I was able to remove automatix with Synaptic Package Manager. And replace yours sources.list with the one attached to this bug. Done. Now when I use the menu option System / Administration / Update Manager then I select New distribution release '7.10' is available [ Upgrade ] --- button. the upgrade begins normally then ends with a error. [Bug 107405] This gmail account was controlled by 'phishers'.
Hello All, Note: This message is being sent BCC to contacts in my gmail address book. If you received an email from this email address, apparently from me, on approx 16 Oct 2007 or there abouts -- then you would have received it from a 'phisher' (person/s) who took control of my email account. I won't go into the details, however, I now have control of my gmail email address (this email account). Note that the 'phisher's email stated that I had an uncle who was dying and asking for money. Apparently it was sent from somewhere in Africa. -- Fond Regards, Peter Eric (aka 'pew') WILLIAMS My free website is: http://pewtas.googlepages.com (please visit my free website and let me know what you think about it.) -- The 4 x task switcher (?) icons in the bottom right corner of my taskbar have disappeared!!! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107405 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
