[Bug 584483] Re: Audacious GTK UI bug

2010-07-29 Thread George Standish
applies to Audacious (GTKui) only, Audacious does NOT suffer this issue.

Playback options: Repeat, Shuffle, etc. do not remain after closing the
program. Must be re-enabled on each restarting of Audacious (GTKui).

In Audacious (GTKui) Preferences i tried to enable "Continue playback on
startup" under the Playback options, no change to the Playback settings
however.

Again, Audacious works fine, the Playback settings remain after restart.

[Bug 566842] [NEW] Xchat tray icon disappears while using xchat, or doesn't appear at all

2010-04-19 Thread George Standish
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-applet

In Lucid (since Alpha 2) the xchat tray icon will either not appear on
starting xchat or disappear while still using xchat.

Opening Xchat Perference's, under Chatting / Alerts -
unchecking/rechecking "Enable system tray icon" has no effect.

The problem seems to be intermittent in nature, sometime it will work
fine - most of the time it does not.

Not sure if this should be filed under indicator-applet or xchat sorry,
indicator-applet was suggested in #ubuntu+1 so that's what I went with.

[Bug 561667] [NEW] Package description does not contain the word "chrome"

2010-04-12 Thread George Standish
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: chromium-browser

In Lucid, if users (I'm thinking about new users specifically) search
for the word "chrome" in Ubuntu Software Center the chromium-browser
package is not returned as a result.

If something along the lines of "Chromium is the open-source project
behind Google Chrome" where included in the package description. The
keyword "chrome" would be included, and chromium-browser returned as a
result in Ubuntu Software Center searches for "chrome".

[Bug 551938] [NEW] Signing into Google sites (Gmail, Wave, Analytics, etc) requires multiple page refreshes to succeed

2010-03-30 Thread George Standish
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: chromium-browser

On Lucid, using chromium-browser 5.0.307.11 (39572) I'm running into
problems signing into Google sites.

Typically what happens is, after clicking bookmark for Gmail,Wave, etc
(using site address makes no difference either):

   1) first page that opens has "This webpage is not available" and a long
error string under it.
   2) press refresh and then get an all white/blank page
   3) press refresh again - page opens

I tried clearing all browser data: Options / Personal Stuff tab / Clear
browsing data / cleared everything (but passwords) - and selected
Everything in the period dropdown -- no effect.

Tried removing ~/.config/chromium -- no effect.

Using chromium-browser 5.0.365.0 (42923) from Chromium daily PPA ppa
:chromium-daily/ppa works as expected and does NOT exhibit this issue.

[Bug 544793] [NEW] With nvidia-173 Xorg fails to start

2010-03-22 Thread George Standish
Public bug reported:

During Mythbuntu (Lucid beta1) install, if the proprietary
nvidia driver is selected, after reboot system boots to
a text login screen (X fails to start).

If instead OpenSource driver is selected during install,
system reboots to a working Xorg. If nvidia-current
(recommended) is enabled from jockey, after reboot X
fails to start.

[Bug 534686] [NEW] Ubuntu icon in panel looks over exposed, or overlapping

2010-03-08 Thread George Standish
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: humanity-icon-theme

The Ubuntu icon in top left corner of panel looks very poor with the
themes: Dust, DarkRoom, and New Wave. The other themes do not have this
issue.

My system updated 13 hours ago did not exhibit this behaviour.

I'm just guessing it was humanity-icon-theme that was cause, didn't see
any other updates that would more likely.

[Bug 526589] Re: Windows are being decorated that shouldn't be (Chromium and Audacious for example)

2010-02-23 Thread George Standish
I am told this is a duplicate of bug 524869
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+2.0/+bug/524869 although
that was not apparent to me when submitting.

[Bug 526589] [NEW] Windows are being decorated that shouldn't be (Chromium and Audacious for example)

2010-02-23 Thread George Standish
Public bug reported:

Using Chromium as an example, it has a Title bar, which it typically
does not. There are 2 sets of minimize, maximize, close buttons in right
corner.

Audacious music player also has a title bar which it typically does not.

Turning Compiz on or off does affect the issue.

[Bug 526175] [NEW] Nvidia-Setting of "Separate X Screen" causes Nautilus to continually respawn itself 100% CPU usage

2010-02-22 Thread George Standish
Public bug reported:

If I enable "Separate X Screen" with nvidia-settings, Xorg.conf is saved
and GDM restarted - after logging back-in mouse pointer constantly
alternates between pointer and spinning wheel. CPU jumping to 100%.
Nautilus is constantly respawning itself trying to open a file manager
window.

If Compiz is enabled, only one monitor gets a panel. If Compiz is
disabled, I get two panels (as expected), but the 100% CPU usage and
Nautilus problem is the same in both cases.

Twinview is working as expected, only Separate X Screens causes this
issue.
