I've tried the approval, but the requirements are a huge barrier. There are
many "jars" inside the original Freemind and they need to be packaged
separately. This is too hard because demands research, guessing etc...

The latest version is on my ppa. Fell free to use it.

[Bug 431812] Re: i915: black screen on boot

2009-09-29 Thread Igor Gomes

Steve, in my opinion this is a quite serious regression that touch on a very
important deliverable for Karmic: KMS. It should not be postponed. If so, we'll
be repeating the Intel issue we had with Jaunty.

I already got a workaround (comment #37). Tomorrow I'll get the
problematic laptop again and do new tests with daily images.

We have two options:

1) Solve the problem tomorrow.
2) Add it to the known issues yet on Beta. And giving it a milestone to RC.

Best,

Provides fingerprint authentication on login with gdm, and authenticate with

The fprint project aims to plug a gap in the Linux desktop: support for
consumer fingerprint reader devices.
This GUI and its applications comes to bridge the gap with the user side.

Just to mention, about the specific Skype issue, the Skype developers are
adding the Pulseaudio support to the next version!

There's a poll to vote which version are you using. I encourage the
Ubuntu users to vote and assure a better support in the future.

I can confirm the bug. Even with the fix released today, I still can't open

sudo ln -s /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/libtorrent.so

[Bug 364808] Re: pbuilder: Invalid Release file, no valid components

2009-04-21 Thread Igor Gomes

I got the reason:

There's a pbuilder config file on /etc/pbuilderrc that defines the
incorrect repository on Canonical (http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu).
It contains only "partner" for Jaunty.

By changing it to http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu, it works perfectly
as expected (sudo pbuilder create).

I'm checking the sources to propose a debdiff but I can't find the
mistake. Seems to be ok.

There's a (initial) changelog stating:

-
pbuilder (0.183ubuntu1) jaunty; urgency=low

  * Merge with Debian unstable. Remaining Ubuntu changes:
- debian/control: Prefer debootstrap over cdebootstrap.
- debian/control: Demote cowdancer from Recommends to Suggests. This fits
Suggests semantics. (Forwarded to Debian #504594)
- debian/doc-base: Fix section. (Forwarded to Debian #504596)
- pbuilderrc:
+ Set default archive to "archive.ubuntu.com".
+ Set default distribution to "jaunty".
+ Set Ubuntu components, but comment them out, so that it still defaults
---

So it was already changed to archive.ubuntu.com.

Really strange. Any insights?

[Bug 364808] Re: pbuilder: Invalid Release file, no valid components

2009-04-21 Thread Igor Gomes

Sorry Savvras! I was working on the bug report and the debugging. Exactly, it
works indeed.

So, as workaround:

sudo pbuilder --create --distribution jaunty --components "main
restricted universe multiverse" --mirror
"http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu";

Instead of using the othermirrors option as suggested in
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PbuilderHowto

Maybe was a misunderstanding from my side. I've tried to use ONLY the
option othermirrors, instead of to use it with the default mirror
option. But anyways, using the most simple command to create an
environment (pbuilder create) still not working because of the default
mirror archive.canonical.com.

[Bug 364808] Re: pbuilder: Invalid Release file, no valid components

2009-04-21 Thread Igor Gomes

I've debugged the whole procedure and got the following:

If started as I stated on the bug I got the attached debug trace. Notice
the comparison (my command/debug line):

pbuilder create --distribution jaunty --othermirror "deb
http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ jaunty main restricted multiverse universe"
debootstrap --variant=buildd jaunty . http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu

So, it was wrongly parsed my command into this line. Tracking the
execution, I checked that the script pbuilder-checkparams get the
OTHERMIRRORS option:

-
--othermirror)
OTHERMIRROR="$2";
-

But it is not used by pbuilder-createbuildenv (line 65):

-
if ! ( cd "$BUILDPLACE" && "${DEBOOTSTRAP}" "${debootstrapop...@]}"
"$DISTRIBUTION" . "$MIRRORSITE" $DEBOOTSTRAPSCRIPT ) ; then
echo "pbuilder: $DEBOOTSTRAP failed" >&2
exit 1
fi
-

Only mirror side is used.

This is way the wrong parse happens.

[Bug 363610] [NEW] dvdstyler unmet (libs and libs-unstripped) dependencies

2009-04-18 Thread Igor Gomes
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dvdstyler

There's a unmet dependency when installing the last update. It depends only on
libavcodec-unstripped-52 for example, where should be an alternative with
libavcodec52.

The proposed solution follows in accord to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312898.

[Bug 363605] Re: dvd-slideshow (libs and libs-unstripped) dependencies

2009-04-18 Thread Igor Gomes

To reproduce it:

1) Install the libavcodec52 (this will remove the unstripped one)
2) Try to install dvd-slideshow

This will install dvd-slideshow, but will also uninstall the
libavcodec52 and others apps with this dependency (qdvdauthor,
mandvd...)

[Bug 328325] Re: Compiz with Nvidia 180: Desktop effect could not be enabled

2009-04-17 Thread Igor Gomes

Hello all,

I'm having the same issue. Upgraded to Jaunty from Intrepid right now
(9.04 RC) and got this issue.

installed:
nvidia-180-kernel-source 180.44-0ubuntu1
nvidia-180-libvdpau 180.44-0ubuntu1
nvidia-glx-180 180.44-0ubuntu1
nvidia-settings 180.25-0ubuntu1

Solved by:

1) Open gconf-editor in terminal
2) Find the key /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager
3) Unmark it

Now, enable the advanced effects. All working.

[Bug 354296] Re: Firestarter startup and init order (wlan interface)

2009-04-02 Thread Igor Gomes
Way to reproduce:

1) Install it from Ubuntu repos
2) Configure the wireless lan interface (wlan0), managed by NetworkManager
3) Reboot

The failure is displayed.

It happens because the wlan0 interface isn't created on that time, even
because the drivers load happens after that.

[Bug 268502] Re: Bluetooth association no longer works

2009-01-23 Thread Igor Gomes

I've solved my problem (with a bluetooth headset) by adding the following
repository and upgrading all bluez-related (bluez*, bluetooth, libbluetooth3).
It will upgrade the bluez 4.27. Now works discover, pairing (using
bluetooth-applet)... Etc.

So, step by step:

1) Add the repositories

deb http://philip.magicalforest.se/ intrepid extra
deb-src http://philip.magicalforest.se/ intrepid extra

2) Add the repo's GPG sig

wget http://philip.magicalforest.se/Philip5.gpg | sudo apt-key add
key.asc

3) Update the repository using Synaptic or apt-get update

4) Mark the upgrades to bluez*, bluetooth, libbluetooth3

5) Apply

Afterwards, just restart the service (sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth
restart) and everything working again. You can test by using the
following command:

aplay -D bluetooth /usr/share/sounds/question.wav

Before the upgrade, it was starting fine. The command on the menu entry was
"/usr/share/pokertk/pokertk" and still being after the upgrade, when I tried to
play. After that, I changed to "/usr/games/pokerth" as I've suggested as
workaround.

It came originally from the hardy repository, without any installs from
deb packages.

If there's no confirmation, maybe could be a specific issue with my
system. Forget it.

[Bug 299407] [NEW] After Intrepid PokerTH starts without any pictures (background, players etc.)

2008-11-18 Thread Igor Gomes
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pokerth

After the upgrade from Hardy, there's an error on the PokerTH menu entry.

Its points to "/usr/share/pokerth/pokerth", starting the game without
backgrounds, players avatars etc.

As workaround (and suggestion to solve the problem), it should point to
"/usr/games/pokerth", starting the game perfectly.

Best,

Igor Gomes

[Bug 296887] [NEW] kgrubeditor - findServiceByDesktopPath: kgrubeditor.desktop not found

2008-11-11 Thread Igor Gomes
Public bug reported:

Package: kgrubeditor

lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 8.10
Release:8.10

---

After installing the kgrubeditor (which its the qgrubeditor), the
application doesn't start, giving the following message:

"findServiceByDesktopPath: kgrubeditor.desktop not found"

The workaround is the same as used on #185551.

"rm -rf /var/tmp/kdecache-igorgomes/ksycoca4"

Suggestion to change the post-script to perform such command.

Best,

Igor Gomes

[Bug 151564] Re: [needs packaging] Gtk2::Sexy Perl bindings - libgtk2-sexy-perl

2008-07-18 Thread Igor Gomes

Just a reminder to add the Gtk2::Sexy to the package

sudo perl -MCPAN -e 'install Gtk2::Sexy' solve the problem.

[Bug 199883] Re: noise at login, mixer setting problem?

2008-06-08 Thread Igor Gomes

I confirm the issue. Here was a problem with the PCM volume. I solved with the
following steps:

- pulseaudio -k
- sudo mv /etc/asound.conf /etc/asound.conf.temp
- sudo alsamixer
- Correct the PCM level
- sudo alsactl store
- sudo mv /etc/asound.conf.temp /etc/asound.conf
- sudo /etc/init.d/alsa-base restart
- pulseaudio -D
