[Bug 93273] Re: ICE1712 sound does not work after S3/S4-resume
I doubt it will help posting my logs, as I'm in debian testing with 2.6.29-1-amd64 kernel, so I doubt ubuntu kernel team will accept this bug, and right now I don't have the time nor the free space to install native ubuntu to try on its kernel (although I will around august). I've also tried installing native alsa drivers -to report directly to them-, but unfortunately neither alsa-source nor alsa-drivers official tar gz compile because of some problems on my build environment (which I made with m-a prepare). Nonetheless, here they go. A lot of fglrx crap because of my gfx card (tainted kernel, another red flag) in dmesg and even a panic (I'll try to get a clean suspend-resume with no X), but it works nonetheless. I just want to say I have the same problem, although on Debian's 2.6.29 and a DMX6Fire (same module, different card), so I'm guessing the problem might be pulseaudio or upstream related. If I open envy24control (the mixer for ice1712 cards) I can see the monitor for several channels stuck as if they had sound, although I have my front speakers setup to hear digital mix (so if there was noise I'd hear it) and they remain mute. If wanted, which I'm not sure of as I'm not in ubuntu, I can provide given logs as soon as possible, as well as do some regression testing with debian's 2.6.29 to 2.6.26 and even ubuntu's kernels (but on a debian mixed testing / unstable userland). [Bug 269071] Re: Intrepid regression: default route is no longer redirected over VPN tunnel
Doesn't work yet for me. Right now I'm in debian (as I have tons of troubles with the wifi since intrepid) but I have my installation replicated and functional in jaunty, both of which share the home. Packages are the same: 0.7.0ubuntu1 and 0.7.0-1 in debian's case. Trouble in my case is that the server pushes a route, *but* the client sets it as the default one. I've tried the four combinations among automatic (VPN) / Only automatic addresses (VPN) and the ignore automatically obtained routes toggle. In *all* of them the default route is changed to default via 10.8.0.5 dev tun0 proto static with no other defaults, so it breaks for me as I get disconnected (which I don't want: I just want to add an *extra* route to the VPN, which works). Nevertheless the suggestion was good. I, for instance, would like to download to a temporary directory in ram (which I have plenty of, free) while my disks are spun down, which would only get online again once the film is complete. This is definitely related to http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=400768 . Has been fixed upstream, I think (in fact, Lenny's apt is 0.7.18 ). Could be not trivial to backport though, as the fixes break apt's ABI according to upstream's bug report. Just installing Lenny's apt over does not work, as it is linked to libc6 2.7 instead of 2.8whatever that intrepid uses, so it doesn't have the necessary files in /usr/lib (such as installing /usr/lib/libapt-pkg- libc6.7-6.so.1.1 instead of libc6.8 ) , regardless of ABI breakage. [Bug 294667] Re: Unkown symbol while loading iwl3945
Just for the record (as I understood that someone had it working in the report), with latest kernel as of right now from proposed (2.6.27-10.20 -generic) + latest backports for that kernel (2.6.27-10.8) I still get unknown symbol lbm_cw_print_ssid, though none of the others. I tried compat-wireless but they seem quite broken, as in module dies sometimes and then cannot be removed, suspend doesn't work, etc. With stock iwl3945 wifi works pretty bad, with around 30% packet loss in quite-optimal situations (and not working at all in my university, for instance). I got so tired from this (as my laptop is useless without wifi and none of the kernels I keep, nor zen-sources ones, seem to work properly) that I just installed fedora core 10 on a separate partition (where, for the record as well, wifi works wonderfully in their 2.6.27.5-117.fc10 kernel but I get some unrelated suspend / resume problems related to compiz). -- Unkown symbol while loading iwl3945 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294667 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 290675] Re: iwl3945 firmware needs to be updated
Right after updating the firmware (manually overwriting) with 15.28.1.8 wireless started working perfectly (from barely connecting or having 30% packet loss to the router). I have 2.6.27-8 without backports (as they are broken right now for the wifi, already reported), and with disable_hw_scan=1 in modprobe.d . This might fix https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/185470 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/271463 as well; I would priorize it. -- iwl3945 firmware needs to be updated https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290675 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 275269] [NEW] x-www-browser doesn't work with firefox 3.0 in intrepid
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox x-www-browser doesn't work properly with mozilla firefox (as of 3.0.3+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 , in an intrepid system fully dist- upgraded ). The symlink is pointing correctly to /etc/alternatives/x -www-browser, which itself is pointing to /usr/bin/firefox . But when run, x-www-browser crashes with: $ LC_ALL=en_EN x-www-browser /usr/bin/x-www-browser: line 117: /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.3/x-www-browser: No such file or directory /usr/bin/x-www-browser: line 117: exec: /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.3/x-www-browser: cannot execute: No such file or directory IF we examine that line, we get: exec $LIBDIR/$APPNAME $@ which itself is defined at the beginning of the file (line 11) as: APPNAME=`basename $0` which, of course, when called from the symlink gets its basename as x -www-browser, so it cannot find the executable and crashes. Solution would be to add a symlink in the deb package from /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.3/x-www-browser to /usr/lib/firefox-3.0.3/firefox , or to change the /usr/bin/firefox script . ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- x-www-browser doesn't work with firefox 3.0 in intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/275269 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: glade-3 While using glade-3 I noticed a small translation typo to spanish: when selecting the properties of a window, the option focus on map is wrongly translated to Coco en el mapa instead of Foco en el mapa. The tooltip is OK though. It is present in both hardy and gutsy (dist- upgraded as of today). I've tried to find it in the po folders of both glade-3 and libgtk2.0-0 (as it seemed like a GTK bug, because it is a translation of a GTK property) without success. I tried to report it upstream but I cannot find where, so I'll just open the bug report here. ** Affects: glade-3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Wrong translation to Spanish https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/215031 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 193605] Re: Feature Freeze Exception request for Conduit 0.3.8
Meanwhile, 0.3.9 is released... http://www.conduit- project.org/wiki/0.3.9 Pity, as in the changelog added Add Conduit documentation (Brent Gueth) , as well as other useful change such as Improved removable volume support (like USB keys). Now, inserting a USB key that has been synchronized on another computer will automatically create a preconfigured dataprovider for synchronizing the folders of interest. [Bug 85705] Re: Undefined symbol error when importing pyinotify
I'm still hitting this bug both under Gutsy and Hardy versions of the package when importing with python-dbg (2.5) on Amd64. In particular, with the hardy version: import pyinotify Traceback (most recent call last): File stdin, line 1, in module File /var/lib/python-support/python2.5/pyinotify/pyinotify.py, line 47, in module from inotify import inotify_init, inotify_add_watch, inotify_rm_watch File /var/lib/python-support/python2.5/pyinotify/inotify.py, line 48, in module from _inotify import inotify_init, inotify_add_watch, inotify_rm_watch ImportError: /var/lib/python-support/python2.5/pyinotify/_inotify.so: undefined symbol: Py_InitModule4_64 [102128 refs] Which is kinda logical, as that library is not linked to anything python-related: ldd /var/lib/python-support/python2.5/pyinotify/_inotify.so linux-vdso.so.1 = (0x7fffda9fe000) libpthread.so.0 = /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x2b81d03fa000) libc.so.6 = /lib/libc.so.6 (0x2b81d0616000) /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x4000) ¿¿Perhaps a python-pyinotify-dbg version is missing?? Ok, sorry, problem is that it lacks a -dbg version.
