[Bug 1799988] Re: Missing wifi and bluetooth after sleep on XPS 9370
I am also experiencing the same issue with on a Dell XPS 13 9370 that I upgraded to 18.04. I added mem_sleep_default=deep to my grub boot options to workaround the battery drainage when "suspended". Just like other people, I can't seem to figure out a pattern to reproduce the issue with 100% certainty. I checked and the BIOS is up to date, and my wifi firmware is WLAN.RM.4.4.1-00079-QCARMSWPZ-1. When the problem happens, the only way I can get wifi back is to reboot or shutdown + boot, sometimes it takes more than one reboot to get wifi back up. For some reason, a complete shutdown + boot appears to work better than a simple reboot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1799988 Title: Missing wifi and bluetooth after sleep on XPS 9370 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell-sputnik/+bug/1799988/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 993941] [NEW] [drm:drm_mode_getfb] *ERROR* invalid framebuffer id - fail resume from hybernate
Public bug reported: I have been experiencing random system freezes since I switched to XUbuntu 12.04. Those were not happening when using Fedora 16 with XFCE. My interface will become non-responsive. The mouse pointer will not move and no keyboard input will be received. And I can't use Ctrl-Alt-F1 (or 2 or...) to get a shell to try to fix the problem. The only solution is a hard restart. It is happening both after a hibernation resume without hibernation. I tried the DPMS settings as mentioned here, but it still froze. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Freeze As I didn't install SSHD before, I wasn't able to test if the problem was only with the X server or it is a kernel panic or something else. I also had this happening with Unity, so the problem is not XFCE- specific. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel-bug precise resume -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993941 Title: [drm:drm_mode_getfb] *ERROR* invalid framebuffer id - fail resume from hybernate To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/993941/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm still pretty new to linux, but first I would say that since it works again in 27-29, it should someday in the 28 series also. I don't really understand what's the problem with restricted drivers and a mainline kernel since sound and compiz effects worked with no problem when I tried. Maybe you could try to compile your own kernel. To make sure it gets solved, I would guess we need to also check kernels between 27-14 and 27-19 to know where it was solved and send that info to the kernel team. I've just looked at the changelog for the 2.6.27 kernel, and there's no mention of brightness in patch 10 and 11. Maybe something completely different is interfering. There seems to be some patch with brightness in the patch 15 and 16. For an unknown reason I can't compile kernels, but if you can try to see if it gets solved. -- Cannot change brightness with 2.6.27-11+ kernel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/86 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 280518] Re: Brightness Applet/Brightness Keys Do Not Work In Gateway M-7315u Laptop
Try going to kernel 2.6.27-9. It works that way for me. Not a nice workaround. -- Brightness Applet/Brightness Keys Do Not Work In Gateway M-7315u Laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280518 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 333386] [NEW] Cannot change brightness with 2.6.27-11+ kernel
Public bug reported: Since the 2.6.27-11 generic kernel (also in 2.6.27-12) I cannot change the backlight brightness anymore. In the latest kernel, it seems there's no more file in /proc/acpi/video, but GFX0 still apears in 2.6.27-9 where I can still change brightness. I'm new to linux so if you need information give me the command to run. It's an acer 6920G laptop. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: backlight brightness ** Description changed: Since the 2.6.27-11 generic kernel (also in 2.6.27-12) I cannot change the backlight brightness anymore.
