Public bug reported: Fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04. Boot takes too long. Everything seems corrent, plymount's loading screen disapears after a while (few seconds) and black screen happends. This is the time when GDM3 should shows up. I have to wait few minutes and then after changing TTY by pressing i.e. CTRL+ALT+F2 and then immediately switch back by CTRL+ALT+F1 GDM3 shows up. [Bug 1969353] Re: Apt/Grub issue with 22.04 Upgrade (Missing libcrypto.so.1.1)
Hi all, found out, that grub customizer provides backup of all the files before its install in /etc/grub.d/backup. One workaround is simply just follow RESTORE_INSTRUCTIONS placed there. Obviously there is a problem, that all changes made to grub after customizer install will be lost, but after I realized, what a mess this package made, I refuse to use it again. [Bug 1950460] [NEW] grub doesn't load videoinfo with secure boot enabled
Public bug reported: When I enter grub, whole interface is really unresponsive and rendering is visibly slow. This is not new issue, so I was invastigating why is this happening. When I enetered grub console after reboot and entered 'videoinfo' command, grub answered 'Secure boot forbids loading module from hd(...)...videoinfo.mod'. When I disable secure boot, everything works as expected. While I am using dual boot with windows 11, I need to keep secure boot enabled, so the only solution from my point of view is to add videoinfo module into 'grub-efi-amd64-signed' package. [Bug 1846374] Re: Having a video playing/paused when switched to another user generates gigabytes of error logs
I can confirm this also happens on elementary OS 6 with nvidia-driver-470. I tried to add a limit to /etc/systemd/journald.conf, but it didn't help at all. Finally I managed to limit the log size using this tutorial: https://askubuntu.com/questions/184949/how-do-i-limit-the-size-of-my-syslog I still have problems with hight CPU & SSD usage caused by the logging, but at least it doesn't fill my disk entirely. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1846374 Title: Having a video playing/paused when switched to another user generates gigabytes of error logs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-340/+bug/1846374/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1939073] [NEW] [USB-Audio - Saffire 6 USB, playback] Sound is distorted and high-pitched
Public bug reported: Probably after an upgrade of kernel to 5.11.0-25-generic from 5.8.0-50-generic which worked well in this regard, sound in the Focusrite card started to be high-pitched and distorted. When I use the normal audio output, the sound is correct. Further debug info can be found here: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+question/696837 This is from the times when I accidentally upgraded to a newer unofficial kernel and the same bug occurred to me. [Bug 1936919] Re: Some windows sometimes freeze
Today, also one window of Firefox froze. Do you think it is a similar bug there? Can an application bug cause a window in which it is to be completely irresponsive? [Bug 1926504] Re: [Possible bug] dpkg-XXX (where XXX is name) does not read env variables
There are meant all the developer related flags with are listed when running the dpkg-buildflags with given the parameter to list them (for example CPPFLAGS). I have other parameters set in enviroment for them (according to getting the best required result of compilation) and when attempting to build a deb archive, it's beeing build with the ones from the mentioned in above program, with creates a trash in form of debug files (and related), with is by some applications a "bad thing to have" because it can create a vulnerabilities (especially it it's a security related software) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926504 Title: [Possible bug] dpkg-XXX (where XXX is name) does not read env variables To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dpkg/+bug/1926504/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1926504] [NEW] [Possible bug] dpkg-XXX (where XXX is name) does not read env variables
Public bug reported: The reported problem (who exist in the most versions of Ubuntu and Debian) apply to the tools, who's name begin with "dpkg-". I'll give the problem description, basing on the example of "dpkg-buildflags". After running the dpkg-buildflags command with a propper parameter, in the terminal is displayed a list of compiler, linker, etc. flags, who differ themself from the ones with are set in the enviroment and with I wanted to use (instead of the displayed ones). The problem that the enviroment aren't read in any way thru this programs and use only the "build-in" ones, with is a quite serrios issue because it may create vulnerabilities in the created archives or even software. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926504 Title: [Possible bug] dpkg-XXX (where XXX is name) does not read env variables To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1926504/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1912659] [NEW] [X570 UD, Realtek ALC887-VD, Green Headphone Out, Front] losing the sound
Public bug reported: alsa force-reload + reboot helps, but only temporarily (similar to Bug #1874689) Unplugging and plugging in the headphones again results in losing the sound. During the time I was reporting the bug, the sound was OK. I unplugged and plugged the headphones in -> no sound. Quite surprisingly, when I finished the bug reporting, the sound was back. [Bug 1626689] Re: During boot process, system goes to sleep
Hi, I've came across this bug report, when dealing with the same problem on Dell E7450 (pretty much always docked) on kernel 5.9.11. For anyone who stumbles upon this: button.lid_init_state=open itself wasn't satisfactory, because it left my laptop display ON of course, making it the main one. I've took the naive approach, as my laptop is pretty much docker all the time. cat /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/10-lid-workaround.sh #!/usr/bin/bash display_cnt=$(xrandr | grep -c " connected") if [ $display_cnt -eq 3 ]; then xrandr --output DP1-1 --auto --left-of DP1-2 --output eDP1 --off fi which turns the laptop display off after login, while maintaing monitor arrangemment I want display names might differ in your case. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1626689 Title: During boot process, system goes to sleep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1626689/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1906794] [NEW] Issues with LiveUSB related to persistant mode
Public bug reported: After downloading the Ubuntu 20.10 ISO, burning it out on a USB stick and testing it(savings weren't saved) some time ago, I had decided to modify it and add "persistant" (as described in Ubuntu domumentation) to it to store the settings. After I did that, following problems started to occur with the system: 1. Ubuntu started to work much slower then before adding "persistant" 2. after the computer was turned off (with proper system shutdown) and then turned on, wifi has "vanished" (in the "Additional drivers" tab of the Software Properties it was selected to use the driver, but it seem like the Wifi interface wasn't existing anymore. I had to do following steps to restore it: in the Software Properties in the tab "Additional drivers": * select "don't use this device" and clicked "apply" * had to restrart the computer in the Software Properties in the tab "Additional drivers" (again): * select "use the (...)" and click apply after that I could close the Software properties with wifi restored ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: persistant ubuntu wifi -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1906794 Title: Issues with LiveUSB related to persistant mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1906794/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1884734] Re: OVN deployment issues with high CPU load and disconnects
Update: it seems there is a bug in kolla-ansible causing this - we are setting OVS system-id based on {{ inventory_hostname_short }} and if Ansible inventory contains ip addresses - it will cause multiple OVN chassis to have the same system-id - and they will ,,override'' each other - which means OVN will get multiple create/delete events per second - which results in 100% CPU usage of Neutron and OVSDB. ** No longer affects: cloud-archive ** Also affects: kolla-ansible/ussuri Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: kolla-ansible/victoria Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: kolla-ansible/ussuri Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: kolla-ansible/victoria Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1884734 Title: OVN deployment issues with high CPU load and disconnects To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-archive/ussuri/+bug/1884734/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
