[Bug 894448] Re: Unable to access USB storage of ZTE Blade Android phone
Yes, it's a bit strange. With the current configuration, usb_modeswitch seems to do exactly the opposite of what it is supposed to do, it puts my device into install mode (0083). Without usb_modeswitch, my device ends up in non-install mode (1350) and things works fine. I uninstalled the usb-modeswitch and usb-modeswitch-data packages, and it works fine without them. But when connecting my device to a Windows machine without driver, it ends up in install mode. There seems to be quite a lot going on in the udev subsystem when you connect a USB device, can there be something else there which manages to take the ZTE Blade out of install mode (which usb_modeswitch then accidentally manage to undo)? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/894448 Title: Unable to access USB storage of ZTE Blade Android phone To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usb-modeswitch-data/+bug/894448/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 894448] Re: Unable to access USB storage of ZTE Blade Android phone
No, it is not possible to use both modem and storage at the same time. Modem and storage can only be activated when the device is connected. When I activate modem mode, the device switch Id from 1350 to 1365. Id 1350 also seems to be the default when neither storage or modem is activated. ADB mode can be activated before plugging in, and it works in parallell with storage, but not in parallell with modem.

[Bug 608588] [NEW] Sometimes fails to create certain directores in /var/run at startup
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: upstart The startup scripts creates a number of directories in /var/run at startup, they are necessary for normal operation. [Bug 22199] Re: Firefox steals Alt-Tab whilst in URL completion drop-down
This is indeed a real problem which needs to be fixed. I have now experienced problem with Firefox 3.6.6 hangs, and when it hangs in this state, the whole system became effectively unusable since you are not able to switch to another program or kill Firefox. (The fact that Firefox 3.6.6 hangs is another, probably unrelated, problem.) [Bug 550774] [NEW] Run Application does not have proper file name completion
Public bug reported: The "Run Application" (Alt-F2) dialog in GNOME does not have proper support for file name completion. If you want to run a file in some directory, you enter the directory name and then you are stuck unless you know the first character of the file name. Even if there is only one file in the directory, you need to supply the first character of the file name to proceed. And if the directory contains more than one file with the same file name prefix, you need to enter an unique prefix to proceed. [Bug 329008] Re: .xsession it aborted at shutdown
/etc/rc*.d requires root access to setup, and by default it is run as root for every user. And AFAIK, it's the same with Gnome logout notification, isn't it? I want something which a user can setup without root access, and which is run as that user and only when that user logout (or shutdown). A laptop user which often run out of battery might not want to use this feature (or have a very quick backup procedure). But that's not a valid reason for not providing it for everybody else.
