[Bug 1271833] [NEW] quota.postinst : Wrong quota detection in /etc/fstab
Public bug reported: Hi, In /var/lib/dpkg/info/quota.postinst, in the "configure" case (line 126), quota usage detection is weakly searched. This is done so : fs=`awk '/quota/ {print $2}' /etc/fstab`; assuming the only presence of the word "quota" is meaning one wants to activate quotas. Some filesystems like GFS2 allow the following usage : "quota=off", in which case one doesn't want any quota related action when installing some other packages. (Some other are using the keyword usrquota. Well, YMMV...) (I was bothered by some buggy postint apt quota actions when installing unison, which is completely unrelated.) May I advice enhancing the quota usage detection in the quota.postinst in order to restrict it to the case one really want to activate it? [Bug 1190696] Re: updatedb.mlocate uses 100% of the hdd IO. The OS is completely unusable.
Hi, I found out that playing with ionice nor nice did not improve anything in that case. [Bug 1066376] Re: keyboard doesn't work to enter password with panda and encrypted partitions
Hi, Sorry, but : I still have the same problem. My laptop is a Dell Latitude E5510 with a docking station, running Xubuntu Quantal 64 bits, and it has external USB mouse and keyboard. I'm using this same harware for a long time, and I upgraded every release since say 10.04 or before. I never had any problem, but I payed closed attention to the following fact : - When using a 3.4.0-030400rc6-generic kernel, everything was fine. - Since updating to 3.5.0-17-generic, problems began. I don't have any encrypted partition, I'm using Xubuntu, but googling around for a while lead me to say this is the same issue. I'm not an expert but I read something has changed with hid-generic, some naming or some module inclusion (...?...). At every new kernel release, I installed them and tried them, but the symptoms are still the same : At boot time, my mouse and my keyboard are OK in the bios setup and in grub. After that, the kernel is booting and the system loading, but then, my keyboard and my mouse become non responsive : - the laser of my mouse is on, but no cursor move - the leds of my keyboard are on, but even switching on/off of caps lock is non responsive Unplugging/plugging does not help. Even on other usb ports. I'm using initramfs-tools version 0.103ubuntu0.2. I tried to add things in /etc/initramfs-tools/modules : hid_generic hid-generic #I wasn't sure of the typo, I tried both usbhid hid mac_hid I have MODULES=most in initramfs.conf Every time, I updated the initramfs this way : update-initramfs -u -k 3.7.0-030700rc2-generic as this is the last kernel I have so far. Every reboot on this update kernel lead to the same end : no keyboard not mouse response. So, until a workaround comes to work, I'm still stuck with a 3.4.0-030400rc6-generic kernel. Not that bad, but I was wondering what non-geek users would have done in my case. [Bug 942166] Re: Stabilizing: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/transcode/import_ffmpeg.so: undefined symbol: avcodec_init
According to what I'm reading on http://tcforge.berlios.de/, there seems to be a lack of developers on the TC team. Does this mean this bug will never be solved? Or is this only a packaging issue? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/942166 Title: Stabilizing: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/transcode/import_ffmpeg.so: undefined symbol: avcodec_init To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/medibuntu/+bug/942166/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 301353] Re: HP Pavilion dv5: ATA exception on resume from suspend [FIXED]
(HP pavilion dv7-1103ef) Three (!) years after discovering this bug, I finally took the time to unplug my hard drive, install another hard drive, install this marvellous OS : windows vista, then run the HP bios updater. Then unplug the temp drive, replace the original and beloved ubuntu drive, and test : THIS IS F*G WORKING! Hi Martin, I'm discovering the huge world of clustering, and I'm hit by this bug.
