[Bug 2067143] Re: [i915] ‘no signal’ after monitor sleep or monitor turned off

2024-06-22 Thread Sasha
It happened just after reboot, so the new log is relatively short. To
make monitors work again I had to replug dock-station.

[Bug 2067143] Re: [i915] ‘no signal’ after monitor sleep or monitor turned off

2024-06-14 Thread Sasha
It is super annoying. Usually it starts happening after waking up. One thing
that sometimes helps is the replugging of the docker/monitors or opening the
laptop lid.
I have never had such a problem on ubuntu 22.04
Please find the logs attached. If I can help to debug by providing any extra
logs - please let me know.

[Bug 2067143] Re: ‘no signal’ after monitor sleep or monitor turned off

2024-05-25 Thread Sasha
I have the same problem: whenever my laptop sleeps two external monitors
flicker/blink for a while and then show "no signal" message. Only one
solution that sometimes helps is to open laptop lid or
disconnect/connect monitors.

[Bug 1804137] [NEW] Font-Manager does not allow custom prevew text

2018-11-19 Thread Sasha
Public bug reported:

In 18.04.

Allowing custom preview text is absolutely crucial for a font preview
tool, and it's been something font-manager has always had.

It's so easy to implement, I can't see any no reason to remove such an
important feature.

As FontMatrix is long since dead, there is now no way to view a custom
text when deciding what font to install or use, a crucial feature for
graphic design work.

[Bug 1484159] Re: Qualcomm Atheros Device [168c:0042] (rev 30) not working on Ubuntu

2015-11-03 Thread Sasha
Hay guys,

look at this

http://askubuntu.com/questions/678145/my-wifi-qualcomm-atheros-device-
168c0041-rev-20-doesnt-show-up-and-work-in

Seems like it's the second last version of this hardware we're talking about
([168c:0041] (rev 20)).
I don't know if that is of any help, but I wanted to share it with you.

My thought is "is it that unlikely to say take this version and grade it
up to the newer version?". I'm not familiar with developing/programing
those things. And also a new linux user. I'm using the same machine and
have the same issue.

Best regards

[Bug 1268833] Re: 10ec:8178 Wireless not working in 13.10 and 14.04 for rtl8192ce (RTL8188CE)/asus pce-n15

2015-02-02 Thread Sasha
So, has this been fixed yet? Been struggling with this c*** for over a
year now. So annoying. I have 100Mbit(10MB speed). line and I am lucky
if I could pull off 15Mbit STABLE over a periode of several hours.
Normally it jumps all over. From as low as 3-4Mbit! I did a ping on
www.google.com and the return on the packets were dismal. The ping was
ranging from 7 m/s and jumping to 1000m/s.

When connected with cable everything works perfect. When I am on
wireless all hell breaks loose. Everything lags, indefinitenly.
Restarting computer fixes the problem for a periode but then it's all
back. I have the rtl8192ce version.

Though, after following these steps, even though it was for rtl8192cu
version, it boosted my speed to 45Mbit(the loss is still 50Mbit) but the
internet hasn't opened this quick for I don't know how long. And when I
test my speed it is showing constant speed at 44-46Mbit. Which is pretty
darn good considering what I had just few hours ago.

Try this:

https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/reserve-7

Btw, can someone please post some updates on this thread. Has this issue
been completely solved or is this still unsolved?

[Bug 876558]

2012-10-30 Thread Sasha-libreoffice
I want to assign F3 as Find
Possible workaround: Tools-Customize, tab Keyboard, set option
Libreoffice, press Save and save settings. Then enter into resulting file
by file manager. (Add extension .zip if needed.) Open file
Configurations2/accelerator/current.xml in text editor. Change in line

accel:item accel:code=KEY_F
xlink:href=vnd.sun.star.findbar:FocusToFindbar accel:mod1=true/

word KEY_F to word KEY_F3, then save result. Then load resulting
settings into LO in dialog Customize.

[Bug 626827]

2012-10-23 Thread Sasha-libreoffice
What is interesting: I can reproduce this bug (using second attachment) only
beginning from 3.5.0 version. Versions LO 3.4.2, 3.3.2, OO 3.2.1 export to doc
correctly.
So, according to my measurments, it is regression beginning from 3.5.0
And this is fileexport bug. msWord2003 opens produced doc exactly as Writer

reproduced problem with attachment in previous comment on 3.6.1 on
Fedora 64 bit and in 3.6.0rc on Windows XP 32 bit. Merging lost during
saving to doc.

Additional: experiments shows that lost are merging in column. If we
select some cell in one column, merge them and save to doc, then merging
will be lost. But merging several cells in one row will not lost.

2012-08-15 Thread Sasha-libreoffice
What is interesting: in Tools-Customize for Ctrl-F assigned function Find.
But I can not find this function Find in any category of functions.
(full name of function is vnd.sun.star.findbar:FocusToFindbar)

May be it is useful to add function Close Find for users can assign it
to some handy key binding. (Functionality request)

Or may be it is possible on Basic Macro? ( write function Close Find)

[Bug 370034]

2012-01-06 Thread Sasha-libreoffice
Copy-paste explanation of functionality request:
On the ruler, one can setup tab stops. However, the tab stops are not snapping
at specific intervals like if there was a grid. They are free floating, which
make them difficult to manage and set them at a proper place, specially when
working on a high resolution screen. By default, they should snap, snapping
should be an option that can be enabled/disabled and the interval for the snap
grid should be configurable.

 Hi there,

Fairly unlucky start to using Ubuntu and linux!

Are you able to grab a copy of 11.10 from here:
 http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/download

And try to boot that up, if it doesn't work, try the 'alternate' cd, and
if that doesn't work then there's a bunch of debugging we have to do :-/

 ttys :)

i was running ubuntu 10.10, and it was good. a week ago i got a question:
do you wont to upgrade to 11.04. i answered yes upgrade run ok, then i was
asked, if i would like to restart, i answered yes, and after this when
starting my computer i am getting usual choice of starting linux, starting
linux recovery mode, starting previous version, memory check. after choosing
starting unix i am getting blinking cursor, and i can type any commands i am
not getting and pressing enter i am not getting any result and cursor remains
in the top left corner of the screen
if choosing recovery mode and insering installation cd i am getting a lot
of linux statemwnts and in the end 35.366409] addrconf(netdev_up): wlan0:
link is not ready - and probably it expects me to enter something, but i have
 no idea what.
my computer is toshiba satellite p100.

in one of the helps i get information, that i can recover the system
by using installation cd, it will ask me if i would like to install or
   recover.

i had only installation cd for 10.10 and tried it it started and asked if i
would like to install. so i decided to download 11.04 and create installation
cd. when i put it in my cd drive i got only whole bunch of linux statements.
sorry i was working on unix 10 years ago, but never used linux. i just
started using it less then month ago, so for me all these statements not
 giving me any help.
i created 11.04 installation cd on 2 different computers - result was the
 same.

[Bug 833841] Re: libgl1-mesa-glx alternative link

2011-08-29 Thread sasha
I nave nvidia-current 280.13-natty~ppa1 from Philip Johnsson's PPA and
had the same problem.

The fix was to remove nvidia-current, run updates and install nvidia-
current again.

I did not dare doing it before I read comment #3 here as I did not want
to get stuck without nvidia driver, but it all worked out just fine.

[Bug 784542] Re: Firefox forgets middlemouse.contentLoadURL on every restart

2011-05-18 Thread sasha
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 548866 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/548866

This is not duplicate of #548866 as it happens on every firefox restart
not only on upgrade as the other bug. Disabling Ubuntu firefox
modifications extension will stop resetting middlemouse.contentLoadURL
value, but it also removes this functionality (with extension disabled,
the value is left set to true between restarts, but middle clicking
does not load URL from clipboard).
