[Bug 724714] [NEW] Package phppgadmin should not recommend postgresql-doc
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: phppgadmin In an effort to reduce unnecessary packages installed onto our servers, we should change the recommends dependency of postgresql-doc for phppgadmin to suggests. 1. The postgresql-doc package does not extend the functionality of phpPgAdmin. 2. There is no way to view the documentation from phppgadmin. 3. It is not easy to view documentation on a console only server which is where phpPgAdmin is usually found. >From the Debian Policy Manual: Recommends - This declares a strong, but not absolute, dependency. Suggests - This is used to declare that one package may be more useful with one or more others. Using this field tells the packaging system and the user that the listed packages are related to this one and can perhaps enhance its usefulness, but that installing this one without them is perfectly reasonable. Changing postgresql-doc from recommends to suggests for phppgadmin would also make it more consistent with other packages that have documentation versions too. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: monodevelop While creating a New Solution, I noticed that the text under Project Features/Unix Integration was "grayed out". This was confusing. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: docky In Docky Configuration/Settings, the option "Start When Computer Starts" should be changed to "Start When User Logs In". This change would make the statement correct and prevent "unlearning" of users. Other Variations: "Add to Startup Applications" - This is "more correct", since it appears this is actually what Docky does and how Gnome/Ubuntu refers to applications that start after the user logs in. However, what is a Startup Application? Will end users know this? "Start When User Logs On" - Using "On" would make it inconsistent with the indicator-applet-session. It has "Log Out" as an option. [Bug 528651] [NEW] Empathy does not import Facebook Chat's Other Friends list into a group
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: empathy When adding a Facebook Chat account, any friends who are not in a custom list (Other Friends) do not get placed into a chat group in Empathy. This is inconstant, since all of the other protocols (that I have used anyways) place friends into groups. This also prevents you from being able to minimize non-sorted friends. I received a warning that "sshields is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported." From my Linode experience, I knew that my sudoers file wasn't configured. I rebooted, dropped into the root shell, and added "%admin ALL=(ALL) ALL" to /etc/sudoers. Then I added my user to the admin group by "adduser sshields admin". Rebooted and it worked. The FUSA bug disappeared and gnome-app-install was under my Applications menu. ** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Default User Is Not Added to the Admin Group During Install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390531 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 355379] [NEW] Clock applet doesn't display the calendar over a focused window
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel When I have Firefox or another window focused and then click on the date/time on gnome-panel, the calendar appears but is hidden behind the focused window. Clicking anywhere on the active window or moving the cursor where the "location list" should be makes the calender appear. Note that this only seems to happen when the location list is open. Steps to reproduce: 1. Make sure you have a few locations added and have the list expanded. 2. Open Firefox or another window and have it in the upper left-hand corner of your screen. 3. Make sure Firefox or your other window has focus and click on the date/time applet. Nothing should appear. 4. Click anywhere on your focused window or move your cursor to where "the location list" should be. 5. The calender should appear on top. [Bug 303088] [NEW] Update Signatures Option Should Request Administrative Password
