affected xenial 4.4

Confirmed reported that this test will pass on xenial 4.4 if we revert
branch to commit 1fc2eec2, thus dropping everything after.

May be worth it to generate a patch if os.series == 16.04, drop commit#

[Bug 1860421] Re: Sometime the Eoan s390x LPAR can't get an IP address after reboot

2020-01-21 Thread Sean Feole
The correct network device to be used for all testing should be encc000.2586 ,
verified
The netplan yaml is correct, I don't see problems with it. It will explicitly
tell the host to use the static IPv4 address

I need logs at the time of the failure, unfortunately I feel that resetting the
lpar did fix the network, but also erased any useful information pertaining to
why the network did not come up.
We will need some additional information at the time of the failure. I've
restarted the testing for Focal S2lp4 and see if we can reproduce.

[Bug 1860330] [NEW] After upgrading from Eoan to Focal, I receive the error: "A newer version of Thunderbird may have made changes to your profile which are no longer compatible with this older versio

2020-01-20 Thread Sean Sosik-Hamor
Public bug reported:

I've only ever used the default Thunderbird that came packaged with
Ubuntu. After upgrading from Eoan to Focal I receive the following popup
error dialog:

"A newer version of Thunderbird may have made changes to your profile
which are no longer compatible with this older version. Use this profile
only with that newer version, or create a new profile for this
installation of Thunderbird. Creating a new profile requires setting up
your accounts, calendars and add-ons again."

The only options are "Create New Profile" and "Quit" with no option to
continue using my old profile.

I tried running thunderbird -ProfileManager to force my current default
profile but it continued to give me the same error.

I'm assuming this is a bug as it's a major inconvenience to have to
reconfigure Thunderbird from scratch after an upgrade.

Terminal shows:

JavaScript error: resource://gre/modules/XULStore.jsm, line 66: Error:
Can't find profile directory.

And after clicking Quit:

JavaScript error: resource://gre/modules/AsyncShutdown.jsm, line 694:
Error: Phase "xpcom-will-shutdown" is finished, it is too late to
register completion condition "UserInteractionTimer 1 for document
7f645eb33000"

See attached screenshot: focal-thunderbird-profile-bug.png

[Bug 1387875] Re: docker.io host name resolution fails after switching networks

2020-01-17 Thread Sean Dilda
I'm hitting the same/very similar bug in ubuntu 19.10 with docker.io
19.03.2-0ubuntu1

systemd-resolved is now involved, but its the same symptoms. If I start
a docker container on may laptop, the container starts with resolv.conf
set to the contents of /run/system/resolve/resolv.conf If my DNS
servers change (log onto/off of VPN, change between work and home
networks, etc), the containers do not update and now have bad DNS
servers.

[Bug 1857074] [NEW] Cavium ThunderX CN88XX Panic : Unknown reason

2019-12-19 Thread Sean Feole
Public bug reported:

Series: Bionic
Kernel: 4.15.0-74.84 linux-generic
Steps to reproduce: Install 4.15.0-74.84 Kernel and boot the system.

The following crash was observed while testing the proposed kernel for the
2019.12.02 SRU Cycle.
This kernel was built to include fixes for the following bugs:

  * [Regression] Bionic kernel 4.15.0-71.80 can not boot on ThunderX
(LP: #1853326)
- Revert "arm64: Use firmware to detect CPUs that are not affected by
  Spectre-v2"
- Revert "arm64: Get rid of __smccc_workaround_1_hvc_*"

  * [Regression] Bionic kernel 4.15.0-71.80 can not boot on ThunderX2 and
Kunpeng920 (LP: #1852723)
- SAUCE: arm64: capabilities: Move setup_boot_cpu_capabilities() call to
  correct place

The following crash appears to be a NEW bug. not related to the prior bugs
listed above.
This bug DOES NOT APPEAR to be related to LP#1857073.

This is another NEW BUG.

Hostname: Starmie

Probable Cause is unknown at this point and still under investigation.

[Bug 1828664] Re: [snap] Broken link in theme directory

2019-12-19 Thread Sean Davis
@John

Which component is responsible for linking
~/snap/packagename/current/.themes? Is this a per snap functionality or
snapd that would produce this? Currently it's broken for at least the
snaps listed in the description.

[Bug 1853433] Re: 2 failures reported in apic test from ubuntu_kvm_unit_tests on X-4.15 AWS i3.metal

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1748103 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1748103

Lets move all of the APIC Failures to LP# 1748103 This is baremetal on
the clouds also, so we should have similar failures in the labs.

Both of these failures have been recorded in lab hardware:

  FAIL: x2apic id matches cpuid
  FAIL: PV IPIs testing

[Bug 1783881] Re: ltp-syscalls: msgstress03 fails because systemd limits number of processes

2019-12-16 Thread Sean Feole
This failure occurs in the cloud, on amazon aws, it can be reproduced on
c4/c5.large abd c5.metal

where it passes on c5n.xlarge / i3.metal m3.large m4.large.

I will try the suggested steps above on one of the affected flavor types
and see if we can get to the bottom of this.
