[Bug 1922839] Re: Opening new tab in gnome-terminal launched from nautilus loses most environment variables
A quick workaround is to install the gnome-terminal version >= 3.38.2. [Bug 1501260] Re: drm:intel_pipe_config_compare [i915]] *ERROR* mismatch in dpll_hw_state.wrpll (expected 0xb0210614, found 0x00000000
I am also affected by this bug. My screen sometimes "randomly" freezes (when making a screenshot for example...) and this: [drm:intel_pipe_config_compare [i915]] *ERROR* mismatch in dpll_hw_state.wrpll (expected 0xb035061f, found 0x) is written in console. It always happens when I run glxgears. The screen is frozen with exception of the mouse cursor - it moves and changes shape when I hover a hyperlink or text. The system is responding, I is just not shown on the screen (I hope I am explaining this clearly). I can switch to console with ctrl+alt+f1, then killall glxgears, then alt+f7 everything is OK again. The actions that I did when the screen was frozen (like switching window, clicking a link...) are now visible. #uname -a Linux kevf14 4.2.0-23-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Sun Dec 27 17:47:31 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux #dmesg [1122359.632664] [drm:intel_pipe_config_compare [i915]] *ERROR* mismatch in dpll_hw_state.wrpll (expected 0xb035061f, found 0x) [1122359.632665] [ cut here ] [1122359.632674] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 8075 at /build/linux-AFqQDb/linux-4.2.0/drivers/gpu/drm/i915/intel_display.c:12328 check_crtc_state+0x2c5/0x440 [i915]() [1122359.632675] pipe state doesn't match! [Bug 1241284] Re: iBus has problem recognizing the keyboard shortcut
I am having the same problem in the keyboard layout switching and I can observe also several other problematic keyboard shortcuts that are probably related to this bug. For example the interpretation of Alt and Shift keys depends on the key order. When I press left Alt and then right Alt, it is interpreted as Alt+Alt R on English (US) Alt+Level3 Shift on Czech (qwerty) The right Alt and then left Alt is interpreted as Alt+Alt L on English (US) Alt L on Czech (qwerty) Similarly with my favorite keyboard switching combination left Alt + left Shift, which is interpreted as Alt+Shift L or Shift+Alt L. But these shortcuts don't work at all for keyboard layout switching. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241284 Title: iBus has problem recognizing the keyboard shortcut To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-keyboard/+bug/1241284/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 999191] Re: X crashes with gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11
The problem happened again a while ago... I found a post in a forum http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=11917028&postcount=2 where the user reports similar problems (crashes and black screen instead of console) caused by the nvidia driver. So I removed the nvidia drivers. So far the only difference is, that switching to text console from X is instant --- it took several seconds before to switch back and forth. I will report again whether the crashes still occur. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/999191 Title: X crashes with gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/999191/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 999191] Re: X crashes with gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11
OK, I am still trying to figure out what triggers this bug. Now it happened when I was working with gnome-terminal and evince. I was not able to get a X backtrace according to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing: I have installed the debugging versions of xserver-xorg-core-dbg, libgl1 -mesa-dri-dbg and xserver-xorg-video-nouveau-dbg and rebooted. I tried $ sudo service apport start force_start=1 start: Job is already running: apport But apport doesn't report anything after logging back. I don't have another machine available to try the remote debugging. However, I tried to attach gdb to Xorg from text console, which just froze the system after entering "cont" in gdb. I didnt find any core dump in /etc/X11/core. The /var/crash doesnt contain relevant information either. There is also another problem related to this bug: After the first crash, the alt+ctrl+f1 stops working. The graphics output just switches off (monitor reports "no signal") instead of switching to text console. I need to reboot to make it work again. This makes the debugging a bit more difficult.

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: indicator-weather I have set up the preferences so that temperature is shown near the indicator. After wake up from suspend, the temperature is not being refreshed anymore, so I have to click "refresh" in the menu. After this, the temperature disappears from the panel (although the refreshing works - the temperature in the menu is correct). I tried to uncheck/check the preferences for displaying the temperature, but it didn't help. Only way to restore the display of temperature is restarting the indicator (The quit button didn't work after suspend either, so i had to use kill). ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: indicator-weather 11.04.10+repack-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun May 1 16:15:06 2011 InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Beta amd64 (20110330) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US:en PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: indicator-weather UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: indicator-weather (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug natty running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774906 Title: Temperature not displayed in panel -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 766339] [NEW] switching to windows aligned to the side of a different workspace doesn't work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity Steps to reproduce: Use 4 virtual workspaces in 2x2 configuration. Switch to the the top right workspace, open any application in unmaximized window and move it to snap to the right workspace border. Switch to the top left workspace. Try to switch to the previously opened application. A similar Bug #738908 has been reported, but this is in my opinion different. In this case, the windows don't overlap multiple workspaces. [Bug 311904] [NEW] cannot enter text in scribus
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: scribus I have ubuntu interpid 64 bit, fresh installation (no upgrade), english language steps to reproduce: create new document in scribus, add text box, edit text in the box -> cannot type letters, only numbers.
