[Bug 604902] Re: Fullscreen control hide kills mplayer and video
I just compiled the latest svn with --enable-panscan. This time, when I attempt to go fullscreen, the entire gnome-mplayer crashes. Fortunately, this means I was able to get a backtrace. ** Attachment added: "Backtrace" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/51859509/gdb-gnome-mplayer.txt -- Fullscreen control hide kills mplayer and video https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/604902 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

** Attachment added: "Dependencies.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/51856797/Dependencies.txt ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-mplayer I've been trying to debug this one for a while. In Maverick, I am unable to play a video fullscreen, because the after going fullscreen for a few seconds, the mplayer and the video completely crash, and I get this output in the terminal: gnome-mplayer:8666): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed (gnome-mplayer:8666): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_hide: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed (gnome-mplayer:8666): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_hide: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed (gnome-mplayer:8666): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_size_request: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed + + I've also attempted capturing backtraces using gdb with both gnome- + mplayer and mplayer, but I haven't been able to get any meaningful + results from this. I think it's being triggered by the controls hiding. It doesn't matter if control animation is enabled or not, I get this and the video crash regardless. [Bug 600404] [NEW] Suspend freezes at final stages
Public bug reported: Whenever I try to suspend my computer it seems to freeze at the last stages of suspension. I can hear it power down my harddisk and my monitor turns off, but it doesn't powerdown my cpu, fans, or peripherals. I can't resume it from this state, nor can I reset using magic keys. It seems everything is frozen. >From what I can recall, I think suspend worked properly with the default Lucid install. But I first experienced this when I started using xorg- edgers in lucid, and the problem seems to persist in Maverick (without xorg-edgers). [Bug 592920] Re: Unity crashes during startup
I know what the problem is, Unity was written to only allow newer gpus to work. My older radeon 9600 pro (r300) doesn't support GL_ARB_texture_non_power_of_two. So I'm probably never going to be to use Unity. This is kinda annoying, I understand Unity was designed for Netbooks and their GPUs, but it would be nice if other's were able to try the software as well. -- Unity crashes during startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/592920 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 501206] [NEW] xserver-xorg-input-wacom conflicts with xserver-xorg-core
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: wacom-tools I upgraded to Lucid Alpha, and I unfortunately discovered that my wacom graphire3 doesn't work properly. [Bug 482165] [NEW] X not starting properly on boot
Public bug reported: After the latest round of updates, including kernel 2.6.31.15 and ureadahead, I lost the ability to use compositing in X. I checked to make sure my radeon modules were loaded, and everything seemed okay. However, in order to fix, I need to go to a tty terminal and stop gdm, modprobe -r radeon drm, modprobe radeon, start gdm. After all that, compositing would work again. This seems to happen on every boot now. Also, occasionally, when I boot up my screen will stay black. I think gdm starts, because I hear a login sound effect that plays when the login window appears, but my screen is empty. I can't even switch to a tty terminal, the screen stays black. My only choose is to restart my computer and hope I starts up properly. This seems to only happen sprodically. It looks like the latest update removed the commit I mentioned in my previous post. -- [Karmic] Audio is nothing but static https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432506 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 432506] Re: [Karmic] Audio is nothing but static
There seems to have been a similar problem in Mandriva: https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=53870 It seems to have been fixed by removing commit 3d5a572694388008fd4cf522699fc6c431f97325 from pulseaudio 0.9.18. ** Bug watch added: Mandriva Linux #53870 http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=53870 -- [Karmic] Audio is nothing but static https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432506 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 432506] Re: [Karmic] Audio is nothing but static
Okay, following the advice of someone on IRC, I added tsched=0 after "load module module-udev-detect" in /etc/pulse/default.pa and added "export PULSE_NO_SIMD=1" to my .bashrc. However it didn't seem to fix it until I ran "pulseaudio -k; pulseaudio -vvv". After that I though sound was fixed, however, when I killed pulse again and allowed it to be autospawn, the static came back. It turns out that pulseaudio only works when I start it manually, but not when it's autospawned. -- [Karmic] Audio is nothing but static https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432506 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 410948] Re: Volume too loud
Okay, the latest pulseaudio in the ubunu-audio-dev ppa works a little better, but I had to change the gconf app/gnome_settings_daemon/volume step to 1 to have decent control over volume, as the highest I'd want my headphones with this volume scheme is about 30%. The only remaining issue is that it still maxes surround early on, when it should follow the same movement master does with my soundcard. Also, pulseaudio output is actually broken at the moment because it causes nothing but static, but alsa output still works fine and volume control affects alsa output as well. But this bug is unrelated to this one and I've filed it at https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/432506 -- Volume too loud https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/410948 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 432506] Re: [Karmic] Audio is nothing but static
Okay, I found out that I can use alsa, but only when I specifically specify device 0, otherwise programs that just use generic alsa interface will switch between static and sound as volume changes. So, this might be an issue with how pulseaudio interfaces with alsa. -- [Karmic] Audio is nothing but static https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/432506 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 410948] Re: Volume too loud
Hmm... I've made some observations on the volume-control's behaviour by watching alsamixer: At mute (0% system volume), Master is 0%, PCM is 0%, and Surround is 0%. System volume goes above 0%, PCM goes straight to 75% and than the Surround Slider. System volume goes above 10%, Surround is at 100% and than the Master slider starts increasing. System volume goes above 60%, Master is at 100% and than the PCM slider starts increasing. Now, I have couple issues with this: Why does PCM go straight to 75%, shouldn't it ease up there slowly right after mute? Why is only the Surround slider moving between 0-10%. It doesn't have any affect on normal volume control. In fact, I think it's only used when the digital 5.1 audio is being used, which is not a normal use case. Both PCM and surround should be going up gradually throughtout the entire volume control process, not just jumping around illogically and annoyingly. -- Volume too loud https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/410948 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
