[Bug 1591057] [NEW] Restoring a maximized Terminal window doesn't return the Terminal window to original dimensions
Public bug reported: What goes wrong: When a terminal window is maximized, clicking the "return" button in the title bar doesn't return the window to the original dimensions. What should happen: Clicking the "return" button on a maximized terminal window should return the window to the original dimensions. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a Terminal. 2. Click "maximize" buttton in title bar (square button) to maximize the window to fullscreen. 3. Click the "return" button in title bar (rectangle button) to return the window to the previous dimensions. 4. The window dimensions will change from full screen to "almost" full screen. [Bug 1579978] Re: upgrade to 1:7.2p2-4ubuntu1 fails on ubuntu server
Hi Robie, I tried purging and reinstalling openssh-server, but that failed again with the same error. I then rebooted the machine and was able to then successfully run apt- get -f install to fix the package installation. Subsequently re- installing the package worked without a problem. Perhaps there was a temporary file causing a problem somewhere, which was automatically cleaned out on reboot? Something leftover from the upgrade to xenial? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1579978 Title: upgrade to 1:7.2p2-4ubuntu1 fails on ubuntu server To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/1579978/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1579978] Re: upgrade to 1:7.2p2-4ubuntu1 fails on ubuntu server
Hi Robie, I had the same problem occur this morning on a couple of server installs running systemd-sysv, so I'm thinking it might not be an upstart- specific issue. I rebooted one of the servers and was then able to upgrade the package successfully. I haven't yet rebooted the other server. Both had a .crash file in /var/crash and I submitted one of them as bug 1580401. [Bug 1579978] Re: upgrade to 1:7.2p2-4ubuntu1 fails on ubuntu server
I upgraded from Vivid => Wily => Xenial. I had switched back to upstart-sysv on Vivid but I noticed that the upgrade software reinstalls the ubuntu-standard package (and therefore systemd-sysv) on upgrade to a new release, so I had re-installed upstart-sysv after each upgrade.

[Bug 933972] Re: Sierra Wireless 320U USB-to-WWAN modem is not detected (needs updated drivers from manufacturer website)
Please don't mark bugs as private unless there is confidential information in the bug report. This has already been fixed, as the patches for this are now included in the current released kernels for Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10. You shouldn't have to do anything with the driver from Sierra Wireless. It should just work and be detected automatically when you plug in your usb modem device. If you have previously installed a separate driver (eg. from the Sierra Wireless website), then you will need to uninstall that to revert to the driver included in the kernel. If you run modinfo sierra and modinfo sierra_net from a Terminal window, you should see the following driver versions: $ modinfo sierra filename: /lib/modules/3.5.0-19-generic/kernel/drivers/usb/serial/sierra.ko license:GPL version:v.1.7.16 description:USB Driver for Sierra Wireless USB modems ... $ modinfo sierra_net filename: /lib/modules/3.5.0-19-generic/kernel/drivers/net/usb/sierra_net.ko license:GPL version:v.2.0 description:USB-to-WWAN Driver for Sierra Wireless modems ... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/933972 Title: Sierra Wireless 320U USB-to-WWAN modem is not detected (needs updated drivers from manufacturer website) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/933972/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If I logout to return to the login screen, then I see my username in the list alongside the local admin user. If I reboot the computer, then I see that my AD username has disappeared from the users list on the login screen, and only the local admin user account is shown. [Bug 1061386] [NEW] Can't add a domain user as the only member of a local group
Public bug reported: My computer is hooked up to an Active Directory domain with likewise- open and has one local admin account that was created on installing Ubuntu. If I try to add my domain account to a local group, and it is the only member of that group, it doesn't appear in the output of the groups command. If I add the local admin account to the group in /etc/group before the domain account, then it all works fine. Eg. This fails to list the domain user under the group libvirtd: libvirtd:x:127:DOMAIN\user If I add the local admin account then it all works fine: libvirtd:x:127:localaccount,DOMAIN\user ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: likewise-open 6.1.0.406-0ubuntu5 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-31.50-generic 3.2.28 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-31-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu13 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Oct 4 14:20:51 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Release amd64 (20120425) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_AU:en TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_AU.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: likewise-open UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: likewise-open (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1061386 Title: Can't add a domain user as the only member of a local group To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/likewise-open/+bug/1061386/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've noticed that the following help docs for Ubuntu 11.04, 10.04 and 8.04, all linked from help.ubuntu.com, are still using the old theme. https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/index.html https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/index.html https://help.ubuntu.com/11.04/installation-guide/index.html https://help.ubuntu.com/11.10/installation-guide/index.html The Ubuntu 8.04 Server Guide, located at https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/serverguide/index.html, does not have any theme active, so it currently displays as just black text on white background. In addition, the Ubuntu 11.10 Desktop Help guide, located at https://help.ubuntu.com/11.10/ubuntu-help/index.html, is showing half the page text in a different language (which Google Translate identified for me as Catalan). ** Changed in: ubuntu-branding Status: Fix Released = Triaged ** Changed in: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Released = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/589057 Title: help.ubuntu.com still uses old logo/branding To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-branding/+bug/589057/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 943263] Re: PC display will not turn on with Llano APUs connected to the VGA port
I can confirm that setting consoleblank=0 stops the screen from becoming unresponsive. I set the consoleblank parameter in grub and left the computer for 30 minutes. After coming back to it, the console login screen was still visible and I could interact with the computer as normal. [Bug 943263] Re: PC display will not turn on with Llano APUs connected to the VGA port
It appears that the bug is not entirely fixed. If I leave the computer for a while and come back to it, the screen is now blank and unresponsive, while the numlock/capslock keys on the keyboard still toggle so I'm guessing it's only the display that is still not working. If I then force-reboot the pc (Alt+SysRq+REISUB) then the display re- appears, but then disappears after leaving it again for a short while. I haven't waited around to see how long it takes for the screen to become unresponsive, but my guess would be after the display is put to sleep by power management stuff in the kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/943263 Title: PC display will not turn on with Llano APUs connected to the VGA port To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/943263/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The Speed under the General heading is listed as Unknown, and the Hardware Address is blank. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/941773 Title: Broadband plan for Telstra Bigpond is not listed when adding a new mobile broadband connection To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mobile-broadband-provider-info/+bug/941773/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 948690] [NEW] Error when attempting to edit Mobile Broadband connection
Public bug reported: I'm getting an error when I attempt to edit a Mobile Broadband connection in Network Manager. I click on the Mobile Broadband tab of Network Connections, select the connection and click the Edit... button. I then get an error message appearing for Error initialising editor. No agents were available for this request.. This leaves me unable to edit/configure any Mobile Broadband connection, and therefore unable to connect to the internet via my usb modem. I don't get any errors when editing Wired or Wireless connections. [Bug 908659] [NEW] VGA output fails on startup
Public bug reported: Every time I boot into Ubuntu, the graphics fails after I select the kernel option in grub. The system is running Ubuntu Server, so there's no Xorg. I would have expected to have a basic VESA driver operating to show the console output, since there's no fancy GUI stuff running. I can get the graphics working if I select the recovery option in grub and then select the default resume normal boot option (can't remember the exact name of it) from the first recovery screen that appears. I have also tried with the latest daily-live cd image for precise (2011-12-25) and that gave the same result. I select the try ubuntu without installing menu option from Unetbootin, and the graphics immediately cuts out. [Bug 242274] Re: Options - change a value - Apply and Lingot Crashes
I recompiled lingot 0.9.0 on Ubuntu Natty and I couldn't get those segfaults to appear. I did manage to get a buffer overflow when setting the sample rate to 1150438151 in the preferences screen. The generated coredump of this was 1.9GB, so I won't be uploading that here. gdb log is attached, using the steps from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace. Changing the value of SAMPLE_RATE in lingot.conf back to 44100 allowed lingot to start successfully. Maybe there should be some input validation on the sample rate field in the preferences screen? I couldn't test OSS because lingot said it couldn't find /dev/dsp. I'm guessing that OSS is not installed. ** Attachment added: gdb-lingot.txt https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lingot/+bug/242274/+attachment/1875897/+files/gdb-lingot.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/242274 Title: Options - change a value - Apply and Lingot Crashes -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 242274] Re: Options - change a value - Apply and Lingot Crashes
I just compiled lingot 0.9.0 on Ubuntu 10.10 with --enable-jack=no. When I started for the first time, I received the following warnings in alert/messageboxes: The requested sample rate is not available, the real sample rate has been set to 1520 Hz. The temporal buffer is smaller than FFT size. It has been increased to 8.421 seconds. When I opened the preferences dialog and clicked Cancel, I got a segfault in the terminal output. After restarting lingot, I got the warning The requested sample rate is not available, the real sample rate has been set to 11347264 Hz. I opened the preferences dialog and clicked Ok and got the following terminal output: Exiting core thread duplicated message: The temporal buffer is smaller than FFT size. It has been increased to inf seconds Segmentation fault Each time I start lingot, I get the same warnings appearing in alert/messageboxes but with different values for the Hz and seconds numbers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/242274 Title: Options - change a value - Apply and Lingot Crashes -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
