[Bug 953875] Re: Encrypted swap no longer mounted at bootup
@akwala, I have the same setup (full disk + home folder encryption). I just ran a mkswap on the swap mapped device that fdisk reports providing the UUID that blkid gives, and it seemed to work: ~$ sudo blkid # Grab UUID from here (if not for the swap-mapped partition, then the root-mapped one) ~$ sudo fdisk -l # Grab device path from here ~$ sudo mkswap -U 7e44a598-e057-42ec-9d1d-f0b693467211 /dev/mapper/elementary--vg-swap_1 I then just edited the UUID in the /etc/crypttab file to match and ran swapon which worked (verified in System Monitor). After rebooting, however, it gave me a message about the swap partition not being ready yet, though it worked after waiting for a couple seconds until the device was ready. I didn't want to see the message, so I followed the instructions here (http://askubuntu.com/questions/341979/what-to-do- about-the-disk-drive-for-dev-mapper-cryptswap1-is-not-ready-yet-or) to add the noauto flags to the swap partition in the /etc/crypttab and /etc/fstab files, and then created a /etc/init/cryptswap1.conf file with the following: start on started mountall script /sbin/cryptdisks_start cryptswap1 /sbin/swapon /dev/mapper/cryptswap1 end script This got it working well for me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/953875 Title: Encrypted swap no longer mounted at bootup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ecryptfs/+bug/953875/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1096580] Re: Missing package dependencies make w3af unable to run
Hi, I faced lot of issues while installing and running W3af on Ubuntu and the I've come up with the following steps that will help in easy installation. 1. Install Ubuntu 14.04.5 on VMware player 2. Note: the dependencies package should be installed of the same version as mentioned when the dependency is missing. Installing latest version might create error. Install the latest version (like new version of pip) only when it is required. 3. Note: if uninstall fails or is unable to connect to proxy or url, give proxy command a. –proxy=: 4. Open terminal and enter the following commands a. sudo -sH cd /opt apt-get update apt-get install git build-essential git clone https://github.com/andresriancho/w3af.git apt-get install python2.7-dev python-setuptools python-pip b.(Or -> apt-get install python2.7-dev python- setuptools python-pip –proxy=: ) 5. run the following command a. cd w3af/ b. ./w3af_console 6. You might be asked to upgrade to latest version of pip 7. Check the version of pip by typing : pip –version 8. Download the latest version of pip ( tar.gz file) a. Extract the file b. Go to terminal and go inside the pip folder c. Enter sudo –sH ( command for root) d. Enter : python setup.py install e. This will install latest version of pip f.( or download get-pip.py file and run this file in cmd) 9. Now enter the command : a. ./w3af_console 10. [Bug 1451092] [NEW] Keyboard direction keys acting weird
Public bug reported: Ok So I started a discussion on Ubuntu forums http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2269986 and it eventually boiled down to not using Compiz as a workaround. The issue: I am using Ubuntu 14.04 on Thinkpad T420 One fine day the arrow keys(basically the up/down) just stopped working in many applications. I works fine in editors etc., but if anywhere the field is active it won't work. By active I mean, if the field starts giving dropdown options when you type like browser address bars, my email client address box, facebook search, gmail mail composition area etc. It acts weird in following ways: - It just lets me type a couple of characters and then won't take any more input - In the address bar, it won't let me choose an address shown in drop down by pressing up/down arrow key - In gmail mail composition area, the cursor just goes frenzy jumping back and forth I have to write stuff in editor and then copy paste. However, the mouse works fine. I am using gnome-flashback with metacity as a workaround. But I a missing Compiz badly. Please let me know if you need any diagnostic data or want me to try out something. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Ok - So I started a discussion on Ubuntu forums and it eventually boiled down - to not using Compiz as a workaround. + So I started a discussion on Ubuntu forums http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2269986 + and it eventually boiled down to not using Compiz as a workaround. Re: [Bug 1140716] Re: [regression] 3.5.0-26-generic and 3.2.0-39-generic GPU hangs on Sandybridge
Thanks a lot for your help Nick...I followed the instructions in the first mail but then I lost track of what to do after rebooting. The preference file in etc folder was already there and the next command for upgradable packages did not work. So, that is exactly where I lost track of it.And I did not understand what the second mail was about.Do you want me to run them in the terminal?I did try but if you could just tell me what commands I gotta run, it will be very helpful. Interesting. Sorry for the late reply. I tested with version 3.4-rc-7-precise and looks like its been solved there. I could not get a log file for the kernel panic (I don't know how).
