[Bug 460483] Re: The plugin should allow Evolution to close to the indicator-applet
There is a temporary way around until they fix this.. Install cGmail and use it. And in its preferencesAdvancedCommandsExec this command on new mails, enter evolution --online without the quotes.. Check the options to start application on ubuntu startup. It will start and checks when you go online and automatically starts evolution on new emails.. -- The plugin should allow Evolution to close to the indicator-applet https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/460483 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 523098] Re: Empathy not connecting automatically and the status drop down is disabled
I tried 10.04, In that also I can't connect to internet. But there is an option for my BSNL EVDO in network manager. Also I saw there is a place to edit and create our own Status message in the MeMenu(if it is the right name). So custom statuses won't be a problem I think. Because of not connected to the internet, I couldn't check the empathy problem. But I made a new account and that box is greyed out. It might be because of being offline.. -- Empathy not connecting automatically and the status drop down is disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/523098 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 523098] Re: Empathy not connecting automatically and the status drop down is disabled
WOW!!! I got the medicine.. Look at this page: http://hardik.in/2010/01/18/empathy-is-now-working- with-gnome-ppp-pppd-connection-on-ubuntu-9-10/ I'll paste the words here for your convenience: Launch Gnome Configuration Editor (gconf Editor) :: ALT + F2 - gconf-editor Search for “Empathy” :: Ctrl + F - “Empathy” In List of search result, look for “/apps/empathy” In List of keys, look for “use_conn” Uncheck checkbox of “use_conn” value and close it And now it is working perfectly with no problems with my wvdial.. And also this page says how to connect using network-manager; he provides a new modem-manager. I didn't tried it yet.. http://hardik.in/2010/03/20/ubuntu-9-10-reliance-netconnect-broadband-modem-huawei-ec1260-networkmanager-works-out-of-the-box/ -- Empathy not connecting automatically and the status drop down is disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/523098 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 523098] Re: Empathy not connecting automatically and the status drop down is disabled
No. Because it is not connecting my wireless usb modem. Somewhere in ubuntu forums and bugs.launchpad I read that some people are facing the same problems. They also have BSNL EVDO usb wireless modem from ZTE. With network manager of Ubuntu 9.10, it will not connect. They also said with an earlier network manager it is connecting... But I didn't tried it yet.
I un installed, deleted all empathy configuration files and that mission-control folder.. Then re installed empathy. No way I am using wvdial to connect to internet and not gnome network manager. I think because of this I also can't connect to Ubuntu one. So I have to try the network manager in the 9.04 version. Or configuring this network manager same as the previous will work? -- Empathy not connecting automatically and the status drop down is disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/523098 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 515978] Re: Network Disconnected -You are offline in Karmic Koala
I am also having the same. I tried in Ubuntu 9.04 Network Manager to connect EVDO to make sure whether it supports the modem without any problem and it connected. Then I installed Ubuntu 9.10 and tried. Not connected and says You are Offline. I have to install wvdial to connect to the internet. So I can't properly use Ubuntu One/ Empathy or any other future things that checks network manager whether the computer is connected to internet. It shouldn't be like that-checking a specific manager whether it is connected because may be lot of other options are there in Linux. -- Network Disconnected -You are offline in Karmic Koala https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/515978 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 523098] Re: Empathy not connecting automatically and the status drop down is disabled
I tried with live cd and obtained the same output that empathy status dropdown is disabled and the notification-status-applet is also disabled. And it is same for any accounts like Yahoo or Gmail. Empathy is not triggering the notification-status-applet to enable the status change option. But pidgin does. So I tried a method. I've deleted all the accounts in pidgin and started Whenever the system starts up pidgin asks to create a new account. I closes it and chooses notification-status-applet available; all are fine. If pidgin is not running in background the notification-status-applet will disable itself. -- Empathy not connecting automatically and the status drop down is disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/523098 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 523098] [NEW] Empathy not connecting automatically and the status drop down is disabled
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: empathy When adding a gtalk account, and after clicking Apply it doesn't connect to the gtalk. I installed Pidgin and connected to gtalk. And somehow empathy got connected when I changed the indicator-applet-session status to available. But the empathy status dropdown is disabled or I didn't see it in enabled state ever. indicator-applet-session Set status is greyed. Only after starting Pidgin, it will become enabled. Then I can close Pidgin. indicator-applet-session is in enabled state. But that empathy dropdown is disabled all the time. If I change the indicator-applet-session status, empathy status will also change. But I can't add custom status.
