[Bug 617210] Re: Ambiance Maverick Beta: Chromium title bar is orange

2010-08-28 Thread Zorglub
Affects me too,

Maybe a patch like the one used in shiki-color 4.6 could do the job -
the chromium integration is perfect for this theme.

http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Shiki-Colors?content=86717

http://code.google.com/p/gnome-colors/downloads/detail?name=shiki-
colors-murrine-4.6.tar.gzcan=2q=

This is really the only thing making me using Shiki-color, as the
browser is the most used application on my computer, and the Ambiance
chrome theme
(https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/elnmibmpefhmfgphdphdncoogpbfmlbp?hl=fr)
is not able to reproduce the gtk-icons.

[Bug 436735] Re: It is dificult to say if trash icon is full or empty in gnome panel

2009-09-28 Thread Zorglub
in a 24 pixel gnome-panel, the visual difference between a full and an
empty bin is difficult to spot and misleading. As I have a small screen
on my laptop, I need to reduce the screen space of the panels - I guess
the same would be true of most netbooks.

[Bug 436972] [NEW] Udev fails to detect my soundcard

2009-09-25 Thread Zorglub
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: udev

My soundcard is not detected (snd-hda-intel)

I tryed :

- To edit alsabase.conf in order ton include the options model= line
(using all the relevant models one by one) none to avail. (restarting
alsa or the computer)

- To restart alsa (force-reload): Unloading ALSA sound driver modules: (none
loaded).
Loading ALSA sound driver
modules: (none to reload).

- When I modprobe snd-hada-intel before the force reload : Loading ALSA sound
driver modules: snd-hda-intel snd-hda-codec snd-pcm-oss snd-mixer-oss snd-pcm
snd-seq-dummy snd-seq-oss snd-seq-midi snd-rawmidi snd-seq-midi-event snd-seq
snd-timer snd-seq-device snd-page-alloc.
But then, If I try to restart pulseaudio, I get an error message - unable to
start the deamon.

- cat /proc/asound/card/ gives me no files or folder...

- lspci | grep audio does not generate any response

- I have nothing listed as an audio device in /dev

-I tried adding myself to the audio group (sudo addgroup username audio)
- I'm already a member of this group

- I dont have any audio device listed with lshw

- I tried to purge-reinstall alsa/pulseaudio, none to avail

- cat /proc/asound/card0/codec* | grep Codec gives me no file or
folder...

- aplay -l gives me : device_list:223: no soundcard found

- I also tryed the pulseaudio ppa - no results.

- I did erase /.pulse and .pulse-cookie each time I tryed to fix the
problem

-The results of the alsa-info.sh script can be found here : http://www
.alsa-project.org/db/?f=a9e1d4cd08437a3dcf17ace06b7778e1d03bc47a

I'm not sure if this is an Alsa bug, an Udev bug or a pulseaudio bug,
but as the card is not detected and the module not loaded, my guess is
this is an Udev problem.

I've read all the bug reports in launchpad and tryed all the proposed
solutions.

My laptop is a toshiba U300 model - I never had problems with audio
since gutsy. My system is up to date (I was waiting for kernel
2.6.31-11 to hit the repos before reporting because I read (don't
remember where on launchpad) that a solution to this problem was
included in this kernel version - but the problem still persist.

Please fix this regression before the final release - I am in need of
music, my computer being my sound system ;-)

Regards, and beside this small problem, I must say Karmic is awsome!

Re: [Bug 376796] Re: Bookmarks and security

2009-05-17 Thread Zorglub
Not sure anymore about the way to reproduce.

When I posted, disabling the Auto-clean when logging out option seemed
to clear the problem, but after a couple ou days, the problem is back
again, with the option disabled.

Extensions enabled :

Adblock Plus 1.0.2
AntidoteMozilla, from Druide Informatique AntidoteRX (v.8) spellchecking
program : http://www.druide.com/
Boost for facebook 9.3.2
CustomizeGoogle 0.76
DownloadHelper 4.4
GooglePreview 3.20
Konquefox 1.7.0
Stylich 1.0.1
Sxipper 2.2.1
Tab Wheel Scroll 2008118
Tweak Network 1.3
Ubuntu Firefox Modifications 0.7

Disabled Extensions :

NoScript 1.9.2.8
Zotero 1.0.10

All downloaded from the Firefox extension manager

Adding Bookmarks seems to work fine, until I try to classify them under
a precise folder.

The bug seems very random, but more than half the time, the added
bookmark is gone when restarting Firefox.

Jean-François

[Bug 376796] [NEW] Bookmarks and security

2009-05-15 Thread Zorglub
Public bug reported:

Firefox 3.0.10 on Jaunty.

When adding a bookmark with the option to always erase personnal
information (edition menu, options, private life - a guess, since my
system is not in english), the bookmark added during the session will be
erased when closing Firefox.

This is not a wanted option - If I choose to add a bookmark, I want this
bookmark to be conserved, but I still want the personnal information to
be wiped out (history, cookies, etc.)

Re: [Bug 331237] Re: Usability regression : Notification should display icon when possible

2009-02-19 Thread Zorglub
Evolution, right!

The point was not about the dialog box, but about the absence of the
icon. Anyway, I just found the specs :
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NotificationDesignGuidelines and in the mockup, the
icon is present. Great work, by the way, I really think this will improve
the Gnome Desktop.

Regards,

JFM

2009/2/19 Mirco Müller mirco.muel...@ubuntu.com

We do support that. Right now there's a dialog-fallback in place for
notifications spawned by applications, which still use actions
(buttons in notifications). That's a feature we do not support by design
(for usability reasons). The default email application in Ubuntu,
evolution (btw, it's not nautilus :), will be updated accordingly to not
 use actions anymore.

As a test you could try this example command:

notify-send New eMail You got 5 new eMails in your inbox. -i
 evolution

That will give you the notification example you sketched out in ascii-
 art.

2009-02-18 Thread Zorglub
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: notify-osd

When I used to gat a new mail in nautilus, I kwen what it was at glance
because showing an envelope icon is easier and quicker to decode for the
brain than reading you have new mail.

When possible, the notification area should use the proposed
notification icon before the text :

| /\|

[Bug 97621] Re: Textures in the game Neverwinter Nights corrupted with Intel GPU

2008-06-10 Thread Zorglub
Confirmed in Hardy with mesa 7.0.3-rc2, Intel GMA-X3100 on a Toshiba U-300
laptop.
I also tried to upgrade to the 7.0.3 packages from Intrepid, but the bug
persisted.

In addition to the contrast problem, some creatures have incorrect
textures. Turning on the environnement mapping fixes the problem on
certain objects, but not everyone.

[Bug 215168] [NEW] Add a countdown option in cheese's menu

2008-04-10 Thread Zorglub
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cheese

The only way to switch on or off the countdown before taking a picture
is going through gconf-editor.

This is a very simple option, that should be included in the menu to
allow fast switch from one mode to the other.

[Bug 215165] [NEW] Cheese don't delete properly

2008-04-10 Thread Zorglub
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cheese

When deleting pictures from Cheese's window, if after that I take
another picture it will, instead of that new picture, show the old
deleted pictures.

Now, before taking the new picture, I have to take several of them in
order to make all of the deleted pictures appear one by one. Only after
doing that I can begin to take new pictures...

I tryed deleting the ./gnome/app/cheese folder, but the behavior still
persist.

Running Hardy on toshiba satellite u-300 with chicony built-in webcam.

[Bug 211146] [NEW] Brighness level adjustment weird behavior

2008-04-02 Thread Zorglub
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

On my Toshiba Satellite U-300, Fn keys and Gnome power management tools
(including Gnome-Panel's brigthness applet) seem to work independently.

I can adjust the brigthness using the FN keys, and it won't affect the
applet slider, for example...

Sometime, in the middle of a session, they seem to synchonize randomly,
affecting the screen brightness.

Also, the setting in gnome-power-management (using gconf-editor) don't
apply correctly.
