[Bug 596565] Re: ThinkPad Edge regularly freezes when plugged into mains
Tried the kernel http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/daily/current/linux-image-2.6.35-999-generic_2.6.35-999.201006151505_i386.deb as described in the link posted by Jeremy Foshee. The wifi did not work with this kernel so I was unable to stay using it to see if the crashing on mains power occurred (This is my only computer), however I can say that it displayed a much longer life for the fully charged battery: 6 hours vs 2:30 hours under the current Lucid kernel - this is the same life that it gives under windows 7. -- ThinkPad Edge regularly freezes when plugged into mains https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/596565 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 596565] [NEW] ThinkPad Edge regularly freezes when plugged into mains
Public bug reported: I have just got a ThinkPad Edge 13 (AMD) and installed Lucid on it. I am having problems with it just crashing - goes to a blank screen. So far this has happened frequently when the mains power is connected, but not when running on battery power. This problem doesn't always happen (I have sometimes managed a full charge without Linux crashing) but once it happens it seems to reoccur pretty quickly after forcing a restart. The laptop seems to be very hot when this happens so I guess it's probably an overheating problem. This problem hasn't occured under windows 7 (although I haven't used it as much as Ubuntu). The laptop also seems to run cooler under windows and with a longer battery life. [Bug 376694] Re: Problem logging in to Gnome
I've been looking at this error log and decided to look at the /home/anna/.config/gnome-session/saved-session/ folder. All the files in here were last modified on the day and time I was last running Ubuntu without any problems. So I have moved them to a different location, logged out and back in again and I haven't had the error message yet and gnome things seem to be working. I hope this is a fix, but I don't know the implications of removing these files we'll have to see. I have no idea what could have happened to these files to cause this problem though? -- Problem logging in to Gnome https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376694 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

As far as I'm aware I haven't (is it something I could have done by accident? - if so how can I check?). I don't need to use a proxy to connect to the internet (using Firefox or Konqorer). Re: [Bug 316459] Re: epiphany browser does not go to specified web page
Run Epiphany type web address in address bar, eg www.launchpad.net press return (or click the go button) nothing happens (webpage opens fine in firefox) I just tried typing launchpad in the google search page (which is the homepage) to see if I could open it that way, but Epiphay crashed when I clicked on the link in the search results. When restarting I get the crash recovery dialogue. Repeated and crashed again. Re: [Bug 224985] Re: firefox-3.0, not saving history or bookmarks, the navigations buttons (foward, back, etc) does not work
In the end I moved my .mozilla folder to a new location and started firefox and closed it. I then copied the contents of my old profile into the new one that was created and that seemed to work fine.
