Thank you. If the developers do indeed decide to implement such a feature, it would be good if some custom message could be shown. Something like - "We are waiting to squash all the bugs." [Bug 1176674] [NEW] Kubuntu 13.04 amd64 LiveUSB installation crashes at " Running grub install dummy"
Public bug reported: Hi, The Installer crashes at "Running grub install dummy" and I tried to report using command line "ubuntu-bug ubiquity" but it pops up a message saying "This is not an official Ubuntu package. Please remove any third party package and try again." So I decided to file a bug report here. Here are the detailed steps to the crash; step 1 : Booted Kubuntu 13.04 amd64 LiveUSB in UEFI mode step 2 : Selected Install Kubuntu step 3 : Selected "install third part software" step 4 : Used manual disk partitioning step 5 : Filled out all the remaining necessary details like time zone, keyboard layout, user details step 6 : Installer tries to run grub install dummy and crashes Later I ran ubiquity in debug mode and it showed the message "The 'grub-efi' package failed to install into /target/. Without the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot". I temporarily fixed the problem using Boot-Repair. I am attaching the debug file and some log files too. If you need more details I would be happy to provide. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: crash grub install ** Attachment added: "Syslog" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1176674/+attachment/3666166/+files/syslog -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1176674 Title: Kubuntu 13.04 amd64 LiveUSB installation crashes at " Running grub install dummy" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1176674/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 842566] Re: Libreoffice and unity integration broken.
I am seeing is this for the last two weeks. I have been using Ubuntu 12.04 Since a week after its release and been regularly updating. I am using the distro provided Libre office and not using external PPAs for Libre Office as far as I checked with the repositories list in /etc/apt/sources.list 1. I am facing the issue of not being to switch to Libre Office file that is open using Alt+Tab. This issue is not seen sometimes when only one file is opened. But, when multiple Libre Office Writer files are opened, this issue shows up always. In this case, Launcher icon is not lit and I can switch to Libre Office only by minimizing the windows that get shown over the Libre Office window. 2. I also have the issue of Libre Office icon shown again in the Libre Office for the file that has been opened. Alt+Tab also does not work occassionally during this scenario. On not all, but most occassions, if I restart the machine, everything works normally for sometime and goes back to showing the above mentioned issues. If it helps, the applications that I normally have open are Terminal, Google Chrome, Thunderbird, Skype and Netbeans 7.1.2 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/842566 Title: Libreoffice and unity integration broken. After the successful connections, if you disconnect and connect again, most of the time blueman will show failed to connect. I think I am a bit behind in times, So does RandR should automatically detect possible resolutions in addition to allowing switching between then without restarting X? [Bug 56213] Re: RandR doesn't work anymore (after suspend?)
There seems to be a simple way to fix the issue with resolutions. I don't know if there is something similar for the rotation issue. The xorg.conf file had entries only for the 1400x1050 resolution I added one for 1280x1024. Now after resume, I can change resolutions using xrandr SubSection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "1400x1050" "1280x1024" EndSubSection I did not touch the xorg.conf file after the breezy->edgy update. So either the file was changed during the update or not having the 1280x1024 resolution did not cause this problem in breezy -- RandR doesn't work anymore (after suspend?) https://launchpad.net/bugs/56213 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 56213] Re: RandR doesn't work anymore (after suspend?)
I can replicate this bug on edgy. The native resolution for my laptop screen is 1400x1050. The native resolution of the lcd panel connected to the laptop docking station is 1280x1024. Typically I use the laptop with the lcd panel (screen closed). Once I suspend the laptop and then wake it back up, xrandr shows only the 1400x1050 option. Logging out and logging back in does not fix this. However, restarting X with CTRL+ALT+BKSPACE fixes the problem. Dapper did not have this issue, laptop woke up from suspend without any xrandr issues.
