[Bug 1950895] [NEW] Realtek RTS5249 PCIe card reader only works during live cd
Public bug reported: My laptop is a Dell XPS 9530 and comes with a Realtek PCI Express SD card reader. I'm using a dualboot Win10/Xubuntu setup, but the card reader has been problematic in Linux ever since a kernel upgrade years ago. To start from a clean slate, I reinstalled XUbuntu 21.10 from scratch from the live CD. First I checked within the live environment if the card reader worked and it did. Only "Eject" gives an error but otherwise everything worked multiple times. After installing to HD however, nothing happens when inserting a card. Not even a dmesg entry. When I run lspci, with the card still inserted, it is suddenly detected and automounted in Thunar. In dmesg appears: [ 268.053725] mmc0: cannot verify signal voltage switch [ 268.181990] mmc0: new ultra high speed SDR104 SDHC card at address e624 [ 268.244413] mmcblk0: mmc0:e624 SL16G 14.8 GiB [ 268.262138] mmcblk0: [ 283.766834] mmcblk0: lspci gave: 07:00.0 Unassigned class [ff00]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTS5249 PCI Express Card Reader (rev 01) I cannot unmount the card however, and any new attempts to get it detected by removing and inserting the card, running lspci again, fail. The disk entry in Thunar is basically stuck until reboot. [Bug 1766377] Re: Ethernet E1000 Controller Hangs
I also have this problem on an Intel DQ45CB mainboard with the onboard Intel 82567LM-3 Gigabit ethernet controller. The syslog fills up with following entries, while network connection is being reset. It does not happen immediately after boot, but high throughput seems to trigger it. I use the adapter in a bridge in a KVM server. look into the code, u can also see the fault posted debug log above: when using a USB HDD(/dev/sdb) partition /cdrom(/dev/sdb1 vfat) casper- rw(/dev/sdb2 ext2) 1. mount /dev/sdb1 /cdrom (/casper is exist(will load filesystem.squashfs lately)) 2. find casper-rw(file and partition in same time(cause bug)) casper.setup_unionfs-> casper-helper.find_cow_device for each /dev/sdb* a. find file a.1 /dev/sdb* not mounted(mount /dev/sdb* to /casper-rw-backing) a.2 /dev/sdb1 mounted(remount -rw on /cdrom) then check the casper-rw file's existence ***after check(not exist), it will umount the /dev/sdb*, for /cdrom will be umounted, here is bug *** b. find partition just check LABEL = casper-rw in order of /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdb2, so /cdrom be umounted workaround may be: 1. put casper-rw(/dev/sdb1) before /cdrom(/dev/sdb2) partition 2. or modify find_cow_device, 1st find partiton, 2nd find file(don't do in the same time) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1489855 Title: Change to mount sequence order breaks persistence on casper-rw partitions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1489855/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1434820] [NEW] Bootloader install fails in Ubuntu Mate Beta and Daily build
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1434753 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1434753 Public bug reported: The current beta1 and daily build Ubuntu Mate Vervet images fail to install the bootloader. The current (daily) main Ubuntu installer does not fail. This bug report contains the details for the current daily build image that resembles the main installer the most. Platform in question is VMware Fusion, virtual hardware version 11. Disk is otherwise available, paritions were created properly. [Bug 1269386] Re: ax88179_178a driver crashes on resume from suspend-to-RAM
Just tested 3.13-rc8-trusty, and initially it seemed to work: the driver reported the link status after resume. [Bug 1235063] Re: Unity launcher autohide doesn't work under VirtualBox
The launcher doesn't hide but otherwise it runs. Only the autohide function is affected. When I hover the mouse over to the edge, it doesn't unhide, regardless of the amount of pressure I apply. This is running on a desktop, no touchscreen is involved. To reproduce, install VirtualBox on a desktop, full screen the VM on a given screen (I occasionally use two) and move your mouse to the unity autohide edge or corner. Regardless of how you approach it, Unity Launcher won't appear. Launcher will be revealed when an application starts or the hotkey is pressed. This might be a VirtualBox edge detection/capture issue but renders Unity autohide useless inside VirtualBox. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1235063 Title: Unity launcher autohide doesn't work under VirtualBox To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1235063/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I believe this might be a duplicate of #944228. The description there contains valuable input on how to reproduce the issue.
