Sorry to crap on your bug thread, but it seems like you guys can answer
this. I was going to buy a wd6400bevt 2.5 drive and put it in a
portable USB case, but wanna wait until we can partition these things
properly. Somebody please let me know when I won't take a performance
and or size hit. I'm not planning on using the ubuntu installer, rather
plan on using gparted, since I'm not installing OS to the disk.

[Bug 533111] Re: pacpl can't handle double-quote characters in title tags

2010-03-16 Thread discord
Hello, I think maybe I'm suffering the same bug.

I'm facing the issue also going flac - aac

 I'm having trouble encoding aac's from my flac files. I believe there
is a bug.

I've tried the following:

$ pacpl --to aac -r -o flac --outdir /tmp /home/discord/Music/flac/

Converting: [01 - Air - Do The Joy.flac] - [aac] encode failed with
exit status: 256

 Also note that the aacqual option does not seem to work:

$ pacpl --to aac --aacqual 196 -r -V -o flac --outdir /tmp --dryrun
/home/discord/Music/flac/

debug: ffmpeg -y -i /tmp/Björk-Debut-12-Play_Dead.9261.wav -ab 128.k
-ar 44100 -ac 2 /tmp/Björk-Debut-12-Play_Dead.aac

removed temporary file: /tmp/Björk-Debut-12-Play_Dead.9261.wav

Converting: [07 Moon 83.flac] - [aac]

debug: flac -f -d /home/discord/Music/flac/B52's/07 Moon 83.flac -o
/tmp/07 Moon 83.24947.wav

debug: ffmpeg -y -i /tmp/07 Moon 83.24947.wav -ab 128.k -ar 44100 -ac
2 /tmp/07 Moon 83.aac

removed temporary file: /tmp/07 Moon 83.24947.wav

$ pacpl --to aac --aacqual 450 -r -V -o flac --outdir /tmp --dryrun
/home/discord/Music/flac/

I don't know why the manual for pacpl states the default value is 300
when it seems to be 128K. As you probably already know, the -ab option
in ffmpeg specifies the bitrate.

I found and tried a fix mentioned on the ubuntu forums, but it didn't
work for me:

Here is a fix for the encode failed with exit status: 256 error message.

I was getting the encode failed with exit status: 256 error message when
trying to convert flac to m4a to use on my ipod. The problem was that pacpl
is passing the wrong command line options to ffmpeg, as the --verbose option
reveals (see output below). The fix is to edit line 2036 of /usr/bin/pacpl to
read

case /mp4|m4a|m4b/ { return -title \$tag_name{title}\ -track
\$tag_name{track}\ -author \$tag_name{artist}\ -album
\$tag_name{album}\ \$tag_name{comment}\ -year \$tag_name{year}\; }

(all one line). ffmpeg is expecting single dashes for options, author
instead of artist, and has no genre field. I've filed a bug report.

It seems that at resume or after a second resume I get the following

ata1:SRST failed (errno=-16)

The system cannot write to the disk after this and it is quite possibly be what
is causing the kernel panics. I cannot shutdown or run any programs after this.

Public bug reported:

Did the machine break while going to sleep or waking up?

Please indicate in the bug whether it is a sleep or wakeup failure and how you
determined this.

resume failure, the computer began to resume then it locked up

Is it reproducible?

Yes, everytime I suspend / resume

Did it work before?

Has this sleep type (suspend or hibernate) ever worked in the past. If
it has whch kernel release did it work on?

Yes, it worked in ubuntu 8.10 with every kernel available.

Please indicate in the bug whether it worked, and if so include the

Re: [Bug 78864] Re: Rhythmbox downloads the wrong lyrics [edgy]

2007-01-31 Thread discord
Ok let me restate the problem. Rythmbox does not download the
appropriate lyrics for the songs that I am playing. This is because
the database it uses for the song does not contain the music.
Therefore it displayed something else (closest match maybe) Anyways
the cd I was playing was called common market. I am not sure this is a
bug or not but since it does show the improper lyrics maybe it is. A
feedback system for the lyrics might be effective.

[Bug 70378] xinerama does not work for me ( may be the window manager) mergedfb does not work for me.

2006-11-04 Thread discord

Hello

I have only been able to get my dual displays working with this driver
using two instances of x running. This is buggy itself as gnome-
screensaver crashes and I cannot use dri or i get a crash. I have heard
that people have had luck using 1.6.5 and mergedfb. This is an
attractive option since mergedfb allows for dual heads to be
accelerated.
