[Bug 1576747] Re: Network manager applet unable to control wifi after suspend in 16.04

2016-08-05 Thread jkyamog
as a temporary work around I put a script here:

/etc/pm/sleep.d/99_restart_network_manager

That contains:

#! /bin/sh

case $1 in
 suspend|suspend_hybrid|hibernate)
service network-manager restart
;;
 resume|thaw)
# No need to do anything here
:
;;
esac

[Bug 849216] Re: [Thinkpad T520] Displayport nonfunctional

2011-11-30 Thread jkyamog
Here is my Xorg.0.log I am able to run nvidia drivers when using the
discrete graphics settings on bios. Nvidia settings is able to detect
the monitor, however no image is displayed. The monitor also seems to
think that the cable is not connected.

I am using nvidia-current package. Also it seems brightness can't be
controlled using the binary nvidia drivers.

[Bug 858252] Re: chromium doesn't see system proxy config

2011-10-16 Thread jkyamog
--proxy-server for me works fine they are slightly different syntax

chromium-browser --proxy-server=proxyhost:proxyport

environment is

http_proxy=http://proxyhost:proxyport;

I have the similar problem on Firefox. However firefox allows you to
set via gui a manual proxy for it.

[Bug 849216] Re: [Thinkpad T520] Displayport nonfunctional

2011-10-05 Thread jkyamog
Anybody else had a successful work around? I have a T520 w/ nvidia
also. Display port works on Win7. I tried to also set on the bios to
use discrete graphics and nvidia binary drivers. Still does not work.
I am using 11.10 on it.

Anyone knows if the docking station will use a different path to DVI
port? Although the dock seems to be costly especially the one for the
quadcore ones.

Re: [Bug 151111] Re: No Sound after Resume on some HP Laptops

2009-04-14 Thread jkyamog
I have a 6910p, it works alright since Hardy. I am now at Intrepid.
I get occasional problems with pulseaudio when my uptime is about
weeks old. I tend to just kill the pulseaudio deamon to fix it. You
can just search google for ubuntu 6910p there are a couple of guides
including mine, although for Intrepid there is not much to do.

[Bug 225202] Re: suspend to ram reboots on resume (aspire 4315)

2008-08-28 Thread jkyamog
I would like to report that this is fine with the latest hardy kernel.
Sorry laptop is enroute to acer service center, I don't have further
details of the version, etc. However we have been suspending the laptop
for the last week and it fine with the latest stock hardy kernel.

How about the others, is suspending now working stable now?

[Bug 121653] Re: [gutsy] fglrx breaks over suspend/resume

2007-12-29 Thread jkyamog
For the resume problem have you guys edited your /etc/default/acpi-
support ?

With my nx8220 (ati x600) I had to set the following :
POST_VIDEO=false
SAVE_VBE_STATE=false

for it to resume on ati (oss) driver. fglrx driver already froze on
suspend. I just sold my nx8220 and now have a 6910p (ati x2300) using
radeonhd drivers. I also had to edit my /etc/default/acpi-support for
resume to go through. If Hardy kernel is suspending and having a
problem with resuming, then maybe its worth a look into playing with
/etc/default/acpi-support
