[Bug 461123] Re: IndexError in Volume Control: list index out of range

2011-03-08 Thread Kaustubh P
I encountered a bug too. Seems the Output volume was amplified, i.e.
more than 100 %. Setting the Output volume at exactly 100% restarted the
AWN applet. The stacktrace is at: http://paste.ubuntu.com/577699/

[Bug 381416] Re: notify-osd should have a close button

2010-11-22 Thread Kaustubh P
yes, i also feel the same, that there should be a close button on the
notification. I dont want my colleagues to see who is online, or what
song I listen to, when they are over on my PC. Even if there is a
design/behavior philosophy, I should atleast be able to be select
whether I can see and use the close button.

[Bug 551514] [NEW] Unable to bring Karmic 9.10 into standby

2010-03-30 Thread kaustubh
Public bug reported:

OS : Karmic 9.10 2.6.31-20-generic
Laptop : Toshiba Satellite A135-S4499

Issue :
1)First time when requested to go into standby (either via Shutdown menu or via
lid close action which has been setup properly), laptop goes into standby and
comes out of it successfully.

2)Second time when i request it to go into standby , doesn't go into
standby, but apparently just disconnects WLAN connection, Mutes sound
system and locks screen. But system keeps running and i can re-login
into it.

3)If i shutdown the system, boot it up and try brining it into standby,
it follows from step 1) above.

4)This problem wasn't there in Karmic from start(stable release), it
started somewhere in between. Unfortunately i don't recollect whether it
started after certain update.

I have attached lspci and dmesg output.

Hi,

Since this occurs on a production server, I will not be able to test
out development versions of Ubuntu or the upstream kernels.

I am attaching the updated debug report.

[Bug 404429] [NEW] systems starts swapping heavily after some time after installing kde 4.3rc3

2009-07-24 Thread Kaustubh
Public bug reported:

After an install of kde 4.3 rc3 from the ppa repository, I found that
the system starts swapping heavily after about 10 mins. I did not have
this problem with kde 4.2.4, so I am assuming this has something to do
with kde 4.3.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Power on laptop.
2. Login to kde.
3. Leave system idle for 10-15 minutes.
4. System starts swapping heavily.

The system becomes slow to respond to mouse movements and key strokes.

Same for me.

But the strange thing is that I had it working on the same box which it
fails now on until about a couple of days ago, and nothing has changed
since AFAIK.

To add to that, I've got another identical machine running Jaunty, which
doesn't see this error and mounts and accesses the share with no
problems.

Re: [Bug 180953] Re: libphp5 module does not load in apache2

2008-02-07 Thread Kaustubh
I had libxml2 version 2.6.0 and 2.6.30 installed. The symlink
/usr/local/lib/libxml2.so pointed to the 2.6.0 version of libxml2.
Making the symlink point to the 2.6.30 solved the problem.

Since I upgraded my machine from Dapper to Edgy to Feisty to Gutsy,
shouldn't the upgrade process take of the libxml2 version as well?

2006-09-29 Thread Kaustubh
I now get the splash when I reboot the machine. The link in /etc/alternatives/
to usplash was broken. Fixed that to point to
/usr/lib/usplash/usplash-theme-ubuntu.so
. The boot usplash problem still remains.

I did all of the above. I still get the same grey box, with the geometry
info.
