[Bug 1680784] Re: Glitches
I already moved to arch lol That was not a bug but hardware feature i assume? [Bug 1940756] Re: VirtualBox always using mic, breaks all audio playback
The same behavior here, I'm using Kubuntu 20.04.3 as host and guest, VirtualBox version is 6.1.26. On Audio page of the settings Audio is turned ON, Audio Out is ON, Audio In is OFF, so it shouldn't use the microphone according to these settings. Nevertheless microphone icon pops in KDE System Tray every time when machine starts. I've got another VM, Windows 7, with the same Audio In/Out settings, but it doesn't use the microphone when it runs. The sole difference I noticed that Kubuntu guest uses "ICH AC97" audio controller and Windows guest uses "Intel HD Audio" controller. These settings were done automatically, I didn't change anything on this tab since the installation. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1940756 Title: VirtualBox always using mic, breaks all audio playback To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virtualbox/+bug/1940756/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1946192] Re: "Press Ctrl+C to cancel all filesystem checks in process" on every boot
One more reasoning: fsck is called DESPITE the settings of tune2fs. By default "Maximum mount counts" equals -1 which means that fsck shouldn't run at all. If this parameter is set to some positive value fcsk should run periodically but not on every start. Less experienced users may think that they've got real problems with their disk because of these checks on every boot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1946192 Title: "Press Ctrl+C to cancel all filesystem checks in process" on every boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/systemd/+bug/1946192/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1870736] Re: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200%
@cica-kutya there is solution - nvidia kms. And fractional scaling work without any issues(like tearing on intel) for me. I have single gpu setup(no hybrid graphics). You can activate it by: 1. Set nvidia_drm module option: $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-modeset.conf options nvidia_drm modeset=1 2. Add same option to kernel cmdline: $ cat /etc/default/grub GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="nvidia_drm.modeset=1 quiet splash" 3. Update initrd $ sudo update-initramfs -u -k all 4. Reboot 5. Check it $ sudo cat /sys/module/nvidia_drm/parameters/modeset Y 6. I have disabled VCE by following this advice (https://forum.manjaro.org/t/radeon-vce-init-error-110-hybrid-graphics/38845/7), the error log disappeared but the problem with blank screen was not fixed. *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1742602 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1742602 I am affected as well. I am running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS on Dell Inspiron 15 with external monitor over HDMI. [Bug 1575053] Re: Please move the "$HOME/snap" directory to a less obtrusive location
I don't think it is fair to attribute popularity of this bug to the law of triviality. [Bug 1575053] Re: Please move the "$HOME/snap" directory to a less obtrusive location
@francescohickle15, this is not "pure aesthetics". Creating random folder in user's home directly, without user explicitly requesting it is just bad design. Not giving user any option to remove/move or even rename this folder is a horrible design choice and has nothing to do with aesthetics. As many people here mentioned is has multitude of negative consequences and I'm not sure why Snap developers keep ignoring this critical issue while hiding behind "it is hard to fix and we like it this way" argument. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575053 Title: Please move the "$HOME/snap" directory to a less obtrusive location To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/1575053/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1575053] Re: Please move the "$HOME/snap" directory to a less obtrusive location
This is indeed a very serious issue and definitely should not be a 'wishlist'. I'm not aware of any other application that respects user so little that it forces you having folder with hard coded name in your home from the moment installation and forever. It pollutes everything: file manager, command line, search etc. If you using GUI file manager it is also extremely easy to remove or move this folder with accidental mouse drag and only notice it when half of your apps stop working correctly. In fact, when I first noticed snap folder I just removed it as I though it was some cache that wasn't cleared by the snappy... I understand that it may be quite difficult to fix, but I think this issue deserves more attention.

[Bug 1783452] [NEW] Some font glyphs are rendered incorrectly (with additional vertical spacing) in GTK applications
Public bug reported: After switching from 16.04 to 18.04 I noticed that fonts are now (in 18.04) rendered differently in GTK+ apps. For example, there is a vertical bar charcter `│` [U+2502](https://unicode-table.com/en/2502), that is used extensively to create solid vertical lines using just text characters. You can see it in console apps such as `mc` or `pstree`. While it is rendered correctly in Terminal in both 16.04 and 18.04, when rendered inside GTK apps it has unexpected vertical gap in-between characters on 18.04 (16.04 renders it correctly). The issue can be seen in GTK apps such as gVIM, Geany, GEdit, but Qt apps seem to render it properly. I have attached a screenshot that clearly demonstrates the difference. It shows brand new Ubuntu 16.04 on a left side where you can see vertical line in GEdit is completely solid, as it should be. On a right side it shows Ubuntu 18.04 where you can see line now has gaps that should not be there. I built a small GTK2 test app that reproduces the problem (sources at https://pastebin.com/WCH1ds4P), and using it I found that the problem occurs when libfreetype 2.8+ is used. I tested FreeType 2.6, 2.7, 2.7.1 and all of them work fine. While 2.8 and above has this gap. I am not 100% sure if this is an Ubuntu font configuration issue, or bug in FreeType, or GTK or some other Ubuntu components, but I hope someone at least can point me at the right direction. [Bug 1730065] [NEW] Hedgewars crashing starting a game on artful
Public bug reported: After I upgraded to Artful I noticed the Hedgewars game crashing while starting a new game. After some debugging I found this happens in the following library: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0xb0fd2a75 in ?? () from /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/dri/i965_dri.so It is from libgl1-mesa-dri package (version 17.2.2-0ubuntu1). So I decided to roll this package back to previous version. I downloaded and installed the following packages from Zesty: - libgl1-mesa-dri_17.0.3-1ubuntu1_i386.deb - libegl1-mesa_17.0.3-1ubuntu1_i386.deb - libgbm1_17.0.3-1ubuntu1_i386.deb - libllvm4.0_4.0-1ubuntu1_i386.deb And this solved the issue. Below some technical details. Please let me know if you need something else. [Bug 1705034] [NEW] Active application's button isn't highlighted on the panel
Public bug reported: When using Radiance theme in Gnome Flashback session in 16.04 LTS, active application's button is not highlighted on the panel. In Ambiance theme active application's button is highlighted by the darker color. Comparison of the gnome-panel.css in /usr/share/themes/Ambiance/gtk-3.0/apps and /usr/share/themes/Radiance/gtk-3.0/apps showed the absence of some code in Radiance theme. Adding the fragment of code from Ambiance gnome-panel.css to Radiance respective file fixes the issue (possibly some adjustment of values is needed, as this code is related to dark Ambiance theme, rather than light Radiance theme). Here's the mentioned code fragment: PanelApplet .button:checked { background-image: -gtk-gradient (linear, left top, left bottom, from (shade (@dark_bg_color, 0.95)), to (shade (@dark_bg_color, 1.1))); } PanelApplet .button:checked:prelight { background-image: -gtk-gradient (linear, left top, left bottom, from (shade (@dark_bg_color, 1.15)), to (shade (@dark_bg_color, 1.3))); } PanelApplet .button:checked:prelight:active { border-image: none; background-image: -gtk-gradient (linear, left top, left bottom, from (shade (@dark_bg_color, 0.75)), to (shade (@dark_bg_color, 0.9))); border-color: shade (@dark_bg_color, 0.8); } ** Affects: ubuntu-themes (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1705034 Title: Active application's button isn't highlighted on the panel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-themes/+bug/1705034/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
