[Bug 269976] [NEW] Download speed depends on harddisk activity (?!?)
Public bug reported: Affected versions: Hardy/Intrepid (x86) When updating the system with update-manager the download speed is about 50kBit, which is too slow for 16MBit DSL. When i create heavy I/O load on the harddrive by running baobab for /, the download speed increases more than tenfold. Taking away the load lets the download speed drop again. I tested this during upgrade from hardy to intrepid (update-manager -d) and with intrepid updating to the latest packages. This is an Intel ICH7 chipset notebook with a Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. [Bug 255244] Re: vinagre crashed with SIGSEGV in dlclose()
Only possibility would be fglrx. The driver (2:8.512-0ubuntu1) is installed but - according to the Hardware Drivers tool - unused. lsmod shows the radeon driver as loaded. Trying to do a glxinfo results in a segfault of the tool. Possibly related is a number of attempted beeps on Gnome startup. -- vinagre crashed with SIGSEGV in dlclose() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/255244 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 81235] Re: Networking broken after update (2007/01/23)
Hmm, getting nowhere really. I did a few fresh installations and it failed two out of five times after i've been trying to enable the wireless adapter. I've compared the output of lsmod before and after installing/configuring they showed no difference. When the installation fails eth0 is not present, eth1 is the first adapter listed. I suggest we close this issue until i've found something usable. -- Networking broken after update (2007/01/23) https://launchpad.net/bugs/81235 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 81235] Networking broken after update (2007/01/23)
Public bug reported: With the latest updates Feisty does no longer recognize the built-in cabled network adapter (Realtek). This is a full update from Herd-2 to most recent level in one go. The networking configuration tool fails to enable the network - configure the net (appears to work on the first look), save settings close and reopen Networking tool and all settings are gone. During boot there is a longer delay while trying to find the net, then feisty continues to search for WLAN adapters. I apologize for this sort of error report, but i do currently not have the time and opportunity to really search for the root cause. :-( ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Networking broken after update (2007/01/23) https://launchpad.net/bugs/81235 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
