[Bug 1140716] Re: [regression] 3.5.0-26-generic and 3.2.0-39-generic GPU hangs on Sandybridge

2013-04-30 Thread tulskiy
Just had this issue twice after upgrading from qantal to raring :( I'm
getting (EE) [mi] EQ overflowing. Additional events will be discarded
until existing events are processed in xorg log and system freezes and
I have to do a hard reset.

[Bug 674621] Re: Totem jumps to a random position when pausing after scrolling the video with mouse wheel

2011-07-11 Thread tulskiy
Yes, I still can reproduce this problem with totem installed in latest
Ubuntu 11.04. Although, it seems to be the same Totem Movie Player
2.32.0, using GStreamer 0.10.32. It appears rarely, but usually the
algorithm is this:

1) Use mouse scroll wheel to scroll video forward.
2) Let it play for several seconds
3) Pause video with either space bar, pause button, or mouse scroll button.
Note current time.
4) Start playback

in about 1 out 5 cases playback will continue after about a minute from
the pause point.

sorry if my previous explanation was unclear.

[Bug 755406] Re: Mouse offset problem when using a WINE application maximized

2011-06-09 Thread tulskiy
As a temporary solution, you can maximise the window not with the
maximise button, but by double-clicking the title. This way window title
is duplicated, but there's no y-offset.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

If I scroll through a video with mouse wheel and then pause the video,

I'm not sure if I file this issue under the right package. Sorry for that.

Do you still think it may be a hardware issue? I have an ASUS X83Vm notebok
with Seagate hard drive. Have no idea how to get more details about my
motherboard.

I don't get that many hang-ups after reinstall so I can't tell yet
if libata.noacpi=1 is working. BTW, what side effects does libata.noacpi=1
have?

On Thu, Jul 29, 2010 at 8:42 AM, DjznBR 285...@bugs.launchpad.net

Ok, tried different and combined things, like libata.noacpi=1,
libata.force=noncq, norst being that this last one was to block the
soft and hard resetting, which eventually cause the whole system to
crash and kernel panic for the first opportunity this bug came up.

Now I am hopeless... I can tell that nothing in the realm of what a user
can do will solve this. At least I got to a conclusion.

 So what you guys advise...

Do I trash my SAMSUNG drive, along with my trust in this company...

 or

Do I trash my ASUS M3A78-EM equipped with SB700 chipset...
