[Bug 1577213] Re: qtcreator freezes and crashes all the time
A kind of workaround is to add qtcreator-git ppa and install the latest version from there. For me it works perfectly. [Bug 1586768] [NEW] Teamviwer hangs on Xubuntu 16.04
Public bug reported: Teamviwer 11 on Xubuntu 16.04 hangs and crashes when establishing connection to remote machine. It opens a window with a label "connecting to partner..." and hangs. The window is not responding to mouse clicks and keybord and the text label on it jumps slightly left and right all the time. After some time it crashes. This bug is xfce-specific since teamviwer works just fine on cinnamon 3 and KDE desktops. It seems to be some conflict between xfce window manager and wine in teamviwer. [Bug 1314094] Re: Sound settings not stored for ordinary users
It seems that I found the problem. I've added the user to the groups sound and pulse, deleted .config/pulse and .pulse/ and logged out and back in. After that the volume is saved normally. So, the actual bug is that pulseaudio silently fails to store the settings instead of showing the message "incorrect permissions" or whatever. This may be an intended behavior of course, but in such distro as Ubuntu it should be more friendly. Another thing is that previous upgrades didn't break the things but upgrade to 14.04 did. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1314094 Title: Sound settings not stored for ordinary users To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1314094/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1314167] Re: [Realtek ALC887-VD, Pink Mic, Front] No autoswitch
In windows the jack is detected, so yes, it is supported. I don't have anything at line in. The rear out is connected to speakers, but the rear in is empty. I don't understand your point. Anyway in sound settings dialog ALL inputs are ALWAYS marked as unplugged regardless of what is connected to them. I don't need auto detection that much, but I need it to remember preferences. I attached two screenshots - one from MS Word, another from LO. The difference in rendering is clearly visible as well as all incorrect symbols. [Bug 787934] [NEW] Number of workspaces in Xubuntu resets to one
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xfce4 I have two workpaces in Xubuntu. Sometimes after reboot their number spontaneously switches to one. [Bug 785826] [NEW] Xubuntu freezes randomly on boot and shutdown
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xfce4 When booting Xubuntu randomly freezes. It shows logo screen and then hangs forever until hard reboot. [Bug 781121] [NEW] Xfce "Action buttons" plugin does log out instead of shut down
Public bug reported: When using "Action Buttons" panel plugin in Xubuntu it behaves incorrectly. To reproduce: 1) Add Action Buttons plugin to Xfce panel 2) click on it and select "Shut Down" in the dialog 3) Sometimes it will log you out instead of shutting down This behavior is rather random - sometimes it does shut down, sometime just logs me out. [Bug 256876] Re: MathType formulas messed up and not converted in Open Office
It seems that academic community is of no priority for OO developers, thus such compatibility bug is simply ignored. This is sad. We gave up in our lab and installed MS Word under virtual machines on all computers. Few users are lost. Not a big deal of course, but I'll warn about this bug all my students (just because I don't want them to waste time on fighting with formulas) and they will warn all their friends, etc... [Bug 256876] [NEW] MathType formulas messed up and not converted in Open Office
Public bug reported: OpenOffice Writer does not show and convert MathType equations correctly. When the .doc file containing MathType 5 formulas is opened in OO, all symbols of integrals, derivatives, sums etc. are missed or substituted by funny characters. As a result the formulas are messed up completely. The formulas are not converted to OO Math, but shown as figures (not editable) even if "convert math from/to MathType" option is selected. This bug seems to be ubuntu-specific. Original bug sent to OO team was not reproduced (http://www.mail- archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg396313.html). However, it was confirmed in Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10alpha, but not in Mandriva Spring (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=872833).
