Short answer is no. Unfortunately the computer on which I was using Ubuntu with the AR511 wireless card has broken, so I won't be doing any more testing on it. The hardware may have been responsible though since the motherboard in which the card was integrated no longer functions. Re: Can you verify this issue still exists in the official 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon release? Please let us know. I think I tried it and it still didn't work, but I'm not sure about that. I don't know how related, but the Atheros in my Toshiba Satellite (lspci reports AR2413) connects, shows other networks in network-manager properties SSID list... Sorry about that, I was using the link for Herd 5 at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ which I assumed to be the most recent. I downloaded and installed the version from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/ and could still not connect to wireless networks. It continues prompting for the password but does not connect. I tried with and without pci=routeirq in the boot line. If you read the dmesg output, you will see that it says If a device doesn't work, try pci=routeirq. When you load GRUB, highlight your kernel, then hit 'e'. Move to the second line and hit 'e' again. Then add pci=routeirq (without quotes) to the end of the string. Don't delete anything that is already there. Hey Nick, I added pci=routeirq so the boot line was as below: file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper initrd=/casper/initrd.gz quiet pci=routeirq however was still unable to connect.
