[Bug 152615] Re: When in fulllscreen mode, impossible to close/minimize fullscreen and so forth. (top bar)

2011-08-14 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Thank you for reporting this bug. tsclient has been removed from the
Ubuntu 11.10 archives. The software has not had a new release in years
and was no longer being maintained. Unfortunately that means this bug
won't be fixed.

** Changed in: tsclient (Ubuntu)

2010-11-10 Thread SimonOR
I use RDV on Ubuntu, but to get from a Fedora14 machine to my 10.04
principal PC I was obliged to install and use TSClient.

It's true, Ctrl-Alt-Enter doesn't work.

However, F8 does bring up a floating menu, at least on Fedora.
Give it a try.

It's the small bugs that make linux unsuable. Moved on from Ubuntu.

2009-03-23 Thread Ken Foskey
To uncheck this option I had to install the configuration application:

apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

The config application then appears in preferences. It is in the
'utility' section, click on workarounds. (It is not intuitive it opens
another box to be more selective.)

In Hardy (8.04) it works only if you disable visual effects.

Setting Workarounds Legacy Fullscreen Support

in CompizConfig does NOT fix the problem.

[Bug 152615] Re: When in fulllscreen mode, impossible to close/minimize fullscreen and so forth. (top bar)

2009-03-10 Thread Balaji
The one problem I don't understand is that every single program in Linux
seems to have its own shortcut keys. Why is that? A user has to remember
the shortcut keys of every single program. Ctrl+Alt+Enter is the most
non-intuitive shortcut I have every seen and it never strikes me when I
really need it that the shortcut is Ctrl+Alt+Enter. I have searched for
this shortcut four times on the internet each time after having to hard-
reboot my laptop because the screen froze over VPN and I could not get
out of the full-screen mode when I don't want it anymore.

Normally I use the Windows screen locking shortcut Windows-key+L,
which shuts tsclient too. But I just cannot remember the Ctrl+Alt+Enter
sequence. Then it occurred to me as to why I cannot remember this
shortcut. It is totally non-intuitive.

The first thing that must happen very soon is a unified approach to
keyboard shortcuts across all applications in Linux. Open-ness should
not be at the expense of usability. Ctrl+F or F11 or some such shortcut
keys are still intuitive. But a real unification of all keyboard
shortcuts is really necessary.

Ctrl+Alt+Enter. I bet I'll remember this for the next few minutes and no
more!! And this is not a problem with only one software in Linux. Every
software in Linux seems to have its own strange shortcuts. How many
shortcuts do you expect a human being to remember?

2008-05-16 Thread trjonescp
I think that a top bar (like Krdc and mstsc have) is still needed even
when the CTRL+ALT+DELETE shortcut is working. At the very least there
should be dialog that pops up when you connect in full screen for the
first time:

---
To exit full screen mode, press Ctrl+Alt+Enter simultaneously.

[ ] Do not show this tip again

  OK

[Bug 152615] Re: When in fulllscreen mode, impossible to close/minimize fullscreen and so forth. (top bar)

2008-04-08 Thread Daniel Ellis
This is still an issue with Ubuntu 8.04 Beta 1. Compiz is typically
enabled by default and compizconfig-settings-manager is not installed by
default.

Installing compizconfig-settings-manager and unchecking Legacy
Fullscreen Support makes CTRL-ALT-ENTER work appropriately.

However unchecking Legacy Fullscreen Support in Ubuntu 7.10 did stop
fullscreen mode working correctly with VirtualBox. My initial test this
morning on 8.04 did work with VirtualBox. I shall test further tonight.

2008-03-10 Thread herda05
For Ubuntu Gutsy there is a workaround. By installing compiz-settings-
manager you can then go into System-Preferences-Advanced Desktop
Effects Settings, If you do an advanced search for legacy, you will see
a setting called Legacy Fullscreen Support. Uncheck it and then you
can use the key sequence CTRL+ALT+ENTER to minimize the rdp session to a
window. Doing it again goes back to fullscreen.

2007-12-31 Thread Psylocybe
I have the same problem ONLY when I have the Visual Effects set to Normal or
Extra.
When set to None CTRL+ALT+ENTER works fine.

It seems that the Visual Effects automatically align themselves...
That's what the flashing screen is.

By the way, in Gutsy, CTRL+ALT+ENTER does not work. The screen will
flash but you never get out of fullscreen mode.
