[Bug 49963] Re: cannot add action permanently when opening files
The application was pre-selected, but I had to click ok or cancel (the checkbox was checked too that it should use this app and not ask again). You're right, it might be an other issue, not sure. -- cannot add action permanently when opening files https://launchpad.net/bugs/49963 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 49963] Re: cannot add action permanently when opening files
nanophase, I'm not sure if that's the same issue, or a linked issue, or a different one. Did you have to select the correct program to open the file (say the correct media player or editor) each time? Or did it always use the correct program, but ask for confirmation first? -- cannot add action permanently when opening files https://launchpad.net/bugs/49963 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 49963] Re: cannot add action permanently when opening files
I had the same issues some time ago with Azureus and Firefox. The always use this app for this kind of files checkbox was on, but I always had to click OK when downloading something. I'm not sure whose fault this is, some sites don't provide the user with a full http:// link to the file being downloaded, but generate them in the background somehow and pass that to the browser afterwards. If I described your problem well, this bug could be set to confirmed. Otherwise I misunderstood the problem and mine is something else. -- cannot add action permanently when opening files https://launchpad.net/bugs/49963 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 49963] Re: cannot add action permanently when opening files
The implementation of Firefox Preferences Downloads View Edit Actions appears to be highly flawed. It surely shouldn't be blank by default, as that makes for a very confusing user interface. Installing mozplugger adds FLI, QTL, RGB, and SGL files to the list, which probably doesn't help much. -- cannot add action permanently when opening files https://launchpad.net/bugs/49963 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
